had and incident with teens having sex 6 seats down from our family. We placed a complaint to a young lady that works there. about 5 minutes later, she enters the theater and of course the teens stop. Ten minutes later the teenage girls proceeds to get on her knees to, well you know. and I made a loud comment that quickly distracted them. No employee ever returned to the theater to recheck the situation. I then went to the supposed "manager" Mr. Samuels, and he basically had the "what do you want me to do" attitude. He said he already sent a girl in to check on the situation, he cant have someone just sitting in there watching at all times. Hey Mr. Samuels, How about you take charge as a Manager, and maybe not send in a young girl to do your job. How about you take care of the fact that underage kids are having sex in a public area, ummm the theater that you are managing. he wanted to give us comp tickets, but Im not returning to the this theater at all. so he did reimburse us. but he did it with a complete attitude. I pointed out the two teens to him and who knows if he even grew his own set of balls to say anything to them. I called another local theater, one that we usually go to. and they said their policy would be to remove the offenders, and if they are underage, they must call the police. Im glad to know that some theaters have morals and can handle situations, unlike Carmike and Mr. Samuels

When this was first built, it was a pretty nice place. But it always seems to have some sort of management problems as it moves through owners. The last two movies Ive seen here were pretty poor experiences. A few months ago, a friend and I bought tickets online and showed up to the theater. There was no indication where to go if you bought tickets online, and it was a later showing so the lobby was practically empty. There was one girl at the concession stand. When we got drinks, we went over to the theater and there was no one checking tickets. We realized we could have literally just walked in and sat in any movie we wanted without purchasing anything. We didnt even have physical tickets. The second time, there was someone checking tickets, and there is a small kiosk that lets you retrieve online purchases via a QR code. Better. Maybe it was there last time, but this time there were signs indicating its existence. Things were going well, but midway through the movie the house lights were flashing on and off randomly, then just stayed on for about 10 minutes. I will say the "BigD" theater is quite nice. Leather, cushy seats. Giant screen, great resolution, and fantastic sound. Its the only reason I come to this place. Hopefully they iron out some management issues and clean up the place a little.

3 stars is an average movie theater experience today ... this place is less than average ... I live in the community and want to patronize the local businesses. I will not attend this theater any longer. Over the last 10 months Ive attended at least 3 shows with my family and friends and the picture quality at each theater room (three separate rooms) was poor (dark & grainy). Ive been attending this theater since they originally opened and for years the picture quality was vibrant and clear. I complained once several months ago and the manager told me the projectors were recently checked and "within specifications", he did give me a couple of free tickets. My friends and family noticed the problem as well, I came back a couple of times since assuming that it would be fixed (watched "Arrival" yesterday afternoon). I have no clue what it takes to own a movie house and turn a profit but at a minimum you should start with a good picture quality. Its unfortunate as this facility is sort of an anchor business at the Viera Avenues shopping center, and in time folks are going to find somewhere else to go. My recommendation is if you dont get out to the movies that often and youre excited about seeing that new film, go to a different theater until they get this problem fixed.

Back when it was The Rave, this theater was pretty good. Carmike seems to have taken the position that quality is what you offer when youre doing great as a business, whereas The Rave offered quality in order to generate business. Its small wonder I began attending movies less often. The ticket windows at Carmike are now shut down, as are the automated kiosks we used to be able to buy tickets at. Now all tickets are bought at concession, drastically increasing lines during peak hours. Movies are shown less frequently, presumably to account for less demand, and yet Im still the only one in there a good portion of the time I go to watch one. Prices have gone up for both movies and concessions, and its not uncommon for me to have to complain (again, at the concession stand) that the wrong movie was loaded up in the theater Im in for the night. So why even a three star review? Mainly because a lot of other theaters are doing this exact same thing, and they too are suffering for it. To recap--offering fewer and lower quality services while raising prices does not keep you in business. Rather, it drives business away, forcing you to raise prices and reduce services even more. This begins a negative feedback loop. Questions, Carmike?

*sigh* where to start In this modern day of technology many theaters have decided to employ these amazing devices called ticket kiosks. They allow patrons to purchase tickets quickly and efficiently without interacting with a human. This theater has chosen not to use these wonderful innovations. So in lieu of ticket kiosks, intelligently managed theaters do the next best thing and have separate lines for tickets and concessions. This theater has chosen not to have separate lines for tickets and concessions. Sooooooooo if you just want to see a movie, and have decided to opt out of purchasing Wilford Brimleys Diabeetus Bucket size soda then ... rejoice! Because YOU, lucky patron, still get the pleasure of standing behind every mother with her gaggle of ankle-biters as she purchases 27 different beverages, buckets of popcorn, and candy and every indecisive fk stick who stood in line for 20 minutes, but didnt decide what he wanted until he got to the counter. Fun, right? Well ... whatever I finally have my ticket. I get seated. The movie was supposed to start at 7:30p, but HOLY HELL do they play a lot of trailers. I think it wasnt until 8:04p that the movie actually started rolling.

Went today to go see Sully, I have never experienced such a terrible experience. Their projectors are absolutely garbage! Do me a favor take the 10 minutes and jump on south I-95 and go to Cinema World. You pay a little bit more than you would at Carmike but at least their projectors, screens and audio are much much higher quality. The manager was greeting us at the exit with free movie passes. Which was nice of him, but hopefully Carmike soon does a major overhaul to their theater they are still using Rave equipment. Also if I might add its not just that one theater all the other theaters have the same level of quality. Not as bad as what I experienced today but the overall quality could be definitely better. And when youre spending $7-$12 for a movie ticket $7 for a small popcorn $5 for a drink $5 for candy times that by 80 people. Im sure theyre making more than enough money to upgrade their equipment. I have never reviewed anything on Google up until now.
