Normally, I like going to AMC Carolina Pavilion 22 but this past saturday I had the WORST experience. My boyfriend and I went to see a rate R movie and we are BOTH 20 years old. When we went to the man to rip our tickets apart, he was giving us such a hard time. He ASKED how old we were and we BOTH said 20 years old. He said we werent allowed to see the rate R movie because we are not older than 21. We were both so confused because this isnt the first time weve seen a rate R movie in this theater. We asked why and he then responded because you need to be 18 years and older to see the movie. When he said that, we were even more confused. he made no sense to us. We asked him a question about the age because we were confused but he responded by raising his voice at us "how are you going to tell me to do my job?" My boyfriend and I went back to our car to get his I.D. (I already had mine) to show him but yet he never asked to show our I.D. he just kept telling us were are not allowed. When we went back to get our tickets ripped apart he was no longer there and a lady was there. She ripped up our ticket and let us in with no problem at all. We understand that every business has policies but we were so JUDGED and DISRESPECTED that when we were walking back to the car i was even debating to stay and watch the movie. Dont see myself going back to this movie theater be insulted, humiliated, or mistreated. If it was up to me I wouldnt even give a star but I had to put one in order to post this review.

I actually love this theater. However on 9/8 the way my family was treated I will no longer visit this theater. My fiancé and I brought our kids out to the movies for family night, due to we didnt have a sitter we had to bring our 4mo old, after getting tickets scanned getting my son sitiuated for the movie he chose and getting popcorn my fiancé was told that we couldnt bring our 4mo old in the R- rated movie . Now I have been to this theater several times with my infant and was never told that I wasnt able to bring her, not just that she sleeps the entire time. The security guard then comes and tells us we have to leave as Im slowly getting up (due to I do have a infant thats sleep in my arms, I cant just hop) the security guards then gets loud and says you cant stay either. I told him that I was getting up and that he needs to be quiet as others are trying to enjoy the movie. He then tells us that we wont get a refund due to I was rude. We then speak with the manager for a refund and he accuse us of stealing he said that we bought tickets for the nut job and snuck in IT when we showed the ticket stubs he didnt apologize for the accusations he was rude and wouldnt allow us to get a refund. I advised him that the ticket holder shouldve stopped us at the door and we wouldnt have had to have this happen to us. We wont visit this place ever again. Very unprofessional and the manger folds under pressure he needs to learn how to be professional under any circumstances.

Sooooo. This place has undergone a complete overhaul with seating and this has completely changed my review. There new seating is two recliners every row. So the theater seating size has decreased immensely this tends to only get people who want to see the movie to go and limits the loud folks. All concession stands have been cleaned up and the staff is quick to push out food. The soda fountains are all the touch screen remix machines. My only advice is that due to theater seating you may need to reserve seats, and you can also reserve specific seats as they are marked like sport stadium seating. Redemption granted AMC. Previous review: This used to be the go to theater for Lake Wylie and Clover residents. Im 25 and have been attending this theater since I was 10 and it has continued to go down in an out of control spiral. Last night I saw The Conjuring with my fiancé. The crowd was rude and yelled and talked during the entire movie. An attendant came into the theater and stood at the entrance watching the movie and every five minutes he came in and asked the closest row what had happened while he was gone. About 3/4s of the movie in the lights came on and were not turned off for a good 20 minutes. This isnt the first bad experience with AMC 22. On multiple occasions 3D movies have not been in 3D, however we were refunded. Also theaters have been prone to just quit mid movie and have to be restarted. Avoid this Theater at all costs.

I use to really love coming here but I had a bad experience the last time I was there. I came there late at night probably around 8-9pm with my daughter to watch a movie. We had to purchase tickets inside the movie theater. When I got there this female employee who was probably with family was there talking to them. I stood by the stand for a moment to buy tickets and she finally comes over but she looked uncooperative and she just seemed annoyed by my daughter and I. I couldnt decide on a movie and asked her for a recommendation, she didnt read to me the synopsis of the different kids movies playing and just continued to stare at me. I decided that I will leave because of the poor service. I do not purchase anything from anyone who gives poor service. Thats definitely not where and how I want my money spent. As I turned to leave, the employee goes back to her little family group to talk again. Since my daughter started to whine because she really wanted to watch a movie, I decided to just buy the tickets. When I stood there to buy tickets again, the employee looked even more impatient and annoyed! So since then I decided I would NEVER come back here.

Ive been going to this same AMC theatre since I was a little girl. The teathre looks great after all the new renovations. Unfortunately, the staff is a bit incompetent. I went to watch the premiere of The Belko Experiment last night, and there was popcorn all over the floor. Also, their popcorn maker began to render lots of smoke and the smell of burnt popcorn (making me question my desire to buy anything, but I still did). Lastly, there was a long line waiting for the concession stand, with only two sluggish employees working (thus making me late for the first few minutes of my movie). I also saw them fill a medium popcorn a third of the way up. The father of the family got upset and asked if his popcorn could be filled to the top (and no it wasnt a refill). Overall, the actual facility is great, but it needs new management. Im an EXTREME movie goer. I visit the theatre at least once ir twice a week (sometimes to watch the same flick). Sadly, my pleasant nostalgic memories arent enough to make me plan anymore visits back to that theatre. Please, do yourselves the favor and get a new staff.
