Our May 21, 2016 wedding at Longshore was a dream come true. First, the place: A quaint, historic inn on a breathtaking property on the Long Island sound. Its a classic New England setting with all of the finer details you would expect from a top NYC venue. Then, the people: The Longshore team is the definition of professionalism and class, and not one of them misses a beat. From day one, Laina (our coordinator) handled every question and concern with grace and ease. There are a ton of other behind-the-scenes people like Eddie, Christine, and Mary at the front desk, all of whom made my husband and me (not to mention our guests) feel so special and welcome. Honorable mentions: - Dont be deterred by a date with two events! There was a bar mitzvah immediately prior to our wedding reception, but I would have NEVER known if they hadnt told me. The space was flawless and everything was ready for us. - The food, oh, the food! On the Marc events did not disappoint. Our guests were raving all night. From the pizza station and the mini lobster rolls to the passed desserts and coffee/cordial bar, there was indulgence at every turn. Laina even ensured that John and I had plenty to eat, hand-delivering some hors doeuvres before we entered our cocktail hour and flagging us down when dinner was served. - The Pearl was a great spot for an after party next door, and they let us shut down the place. :) - I was so appreciative to the team for having our cocktail hour outdoors, even though the danger of rain loomed the evening. The photos are priceless! - Magic just happens at Longshore. Its like a whole team of elves are there making things go perfectly and smoothly, down to packing up your cake and props and having them waiting for you in the morning. THANK YOU Longshore for, without a doubt, the best day of our lives. We hope to be back soon!!

The Inn at Longshore really went out of their way to make our wedding incredible. They accommodated us in so many ways that I couldnt have even imagined. Christine had us from the moment we walked into Longshore, and we decided before we even left the building that that is where we were getting married. From that point forward, Adrienne took incredible care of us. She used great patience in helping us plan our wedding in only a few months, and was very understanding with all of our needs and requests. She also went out of the way to ensure that surprises my husband and I had for each other the night of the wedding went off without a hitch--we couldnt have done it without her. The food was incredible and the appetizers so plentiful that on more than one occasion people came up to me and said that they thought the cocktail hour was dinner. Then there was the actual dinner--wow! The Prime Rib was amazing, as was every other entree, as well as all the desserts and the appetizer courses. The best part was how much care and attention Adrienne and Eddie put into not only making sure that my husband and I ate, but that everyone else who was vegetarian or had special needs was catered to as well. They brought my vegetarian cousin an entire platter of appetizers without meat, and I know they went out of their way in other ways as well. I also received countless comments from friends and family about how perfect the venue was. They kept telling us that no detail was left unturned, but that was really a testament to Adrienne and Eddie and all the staff at Longshore. You guys are the absolute best--its a beautiful venue for sure but its really the people working there who made it special :) Thank you guys for a magical night we will never ever forget.

I rarely leave comments, but I recently had the most disappointing experience working with Christine Hussey, the sales coordinator at the Inn at Longshore. She double booked our appointment to view the site, which she said was “only a little bit” her fault, and mostly due to “Google messing up”. Honestly, this would have been fine, but she never called us the morning of and instead just met us in the lobby at our scheduled time and told us to wait an hour without even introducing herself to us. I had traveled in from NY to see the Inn and thought this was quite inconsiderate. When I asked her why she didn’t call us, she just turned her head in the other direction and did not respond. We ended up touring with another couple, and she essentially refused to look at us the entire time. At the end of the tour, she abruptly handed us a menu, and told us we were done. We didn’t even realize she was saying goodbye until she started walking away with the other couple! No follow-up email or phone call, either. Aside from her behavior, the ballroom is actually quite nice and the view is beautiful. As others have commented, the grounds are covered in bird feces so you could not wear open toed shoes on the property. We would have considered Inn at Longshore, but the service was so far below what we have seen at other venues that we would never spend any significant money with such an unprofessional individual.

I attended my sons wedding a week before the theft of the gifts that happened on 10/11. I am not surprised. I found the staff to be on the lazy side. Why did the staff leave the gifts exposed. I have been at many weddings where someone from the staff is posted to watch over the gifts. After reading about the story some of our guests told me their experience with the gift box. When they approached the box a staff member just pulled the envelope out of their hand. They actually waited to see if in fact he put it in the "birdcage". This is on the high end of price and although the place is very nice but they do not go out of their way. Although we asked to please turn up the air conditioning it never did happen. It actually became almost unbearably hot after a couple of dances. The upper management were unorganized. I have no complaint about the wait staff, they were very attentive. Beautiful yes, but I still would give this place 2 stars. If you notice most of the reviews are from one year ago. A lot of bad things can happen in one year.

Disappointment! I made a reservation to stay at the Longshore Inn (for a few days in July 2013), where my wife and I had our wedding reception several decades ago. I provided all routine info required for the reservation, such as personal info, credit card number, etc. I was told I would receive a reservation confirmation by e-mail shortly thereafter. But after a day went by and I had not gotten it, I e-mailed the Inn to make sure they had my correct e-mail address. After a couple of more days passed, and still no confirmation was sent, I reluctantly, and with significant disappointment, cancelled the reservation. Call me picky, but if someone, or some enterprise, cant get the most simple and rudimentary things accomplished, I lose all confidence that they will take care of the important things, such as providing a clean room and preparing my bill correctly. Its too bad, because I was really looking forward to this trip and the memories it would help rekindle.

This place is awful! The setting is beautiful but if you are looking for customer service...keep on looking! They have messed up so many of the details related to my wedding that I am truely very unsatified! The "tasting" they offer is a group tasting for everyone having a wedding in the Spring and Summer and only bring out a few options! If they options they bring out happen to be what you were considering youre lucky, otherwise you have to hope for the best! I would NEVER recomend this venue to anyone, the sales people are awful and treat as if you are a nuisance. I am paying a lot of money to have my wedding at this place and it would be nice to feel as if they appreciated my business... especially in this economy.
