We decided after careful consideration to host our wedding block at the Ethan Allen Hotel. We visited the property and met with Minnie, who would be in charge of managing our block. We loved Minnie! She was so sweet when we met her, answered all of our questions, took us on a tour, and was always available via email or phone. The reason I feel that the Ethan Allen Hotel deserves one star is due to the management of my group on the night of my wedding. As a bride, you only get ONE wedding day, so you want everything to be absolutely perfect. I was very choosey in where to host my guests as quite a large number were traveling from out of town to attend our event. I decided somewhat last minute that I would like to have food available for my guests when they arrived back to the hotel after the wedding. I asked about this early on in our planning and was told that we were not allowed to have anything delivered and that I would need to order it from the restaurant. I paid over $250 for 5 small platters of fried food for my guests and asked for it to be in a semi private area as the hotel had 2 or 3 other wedding blocks. They said they would set it up in the bar, off to the side, which I decided should be fine after they insured the other weddings wouldnt be getting back until later. Flash forward to the night of the wedding. We arrived back and they had a nice little table set up inside the bar with 3 platters. Some of my guests enjoyed them, but there was no signage or anything to say that this was only for our wedding and was compliments of the family. Most of my guests thought this food was complimentary of the hotel, which it was not, but this was not that big of a deal to me. What was a big deal was that a number of my guests were under 21 and they were not allowed to enjoy the food in the bar. I politely asked the night manager to put some food in an area where these guests could also enjoy it and I was treated extremely rude. He said he would bring some platters out but not all, which was fine. He then told me that my guests had to be neat because he had an important event the next morning in that area. I said that should be fine, and that I would remind my guests. I appreciated him moving some of the food and thanked him graciously. Where the night gets ugly was following this food move. This night manager proceeded to call my guests disgusting, ripped food out of their hands, and ultimately put the platters which were half full away because he decided my guests shouldnt have the opportunity to eat from them anymore. Who is he to make this decision after I PAID in advance for these platters. Before writing this review, I contacted Minnie and asked her to refund my money as this is unacceptable. The hotel offered to refund me 50% which I think is total BS, but I guess I should be grateful that they offered something. I am just extremely disappointed in this hotel and their treatment of my guests after I was extremely respectful to them and even sung their praises on Friday night after some of my guests arrived. To add fuel to the fire, this hotel was also hosting a Sleep Apnea Conference during my wedding and on Friday night proceeded to scold some of my family members during their stay. I was never notified that this conference would be taking place during my wedding, so that at the very least I could give my family members a heads up. I was excited about hosting my family at this establishment as it is so beautiful and the rooms are great, however I now have such a salty view of the night of my wedding and the "after-party" we were promised after our wedding at the Ethan Allen Hotel. Before writing this review, I wrote multiple emails to the hotel and discussed these issues in depth with Minnie, I gave the hotel the opportunity to apologize and make things right, so far all I have heard is that we will be getting a 50% discount on the food from Minnie, via voicemail. BRIDES BEWARE!!!!!

Well were should I start .. [LABOR DAY WEEKEND] Upon entry there was no bellman to greet and meet just two big uniformed guards with a slide open door that didnt open. Did I mention we had bags in our hands after they had a minor brian freeze they remembered they were running a hotel and not a TSA CHECK POINT. Originally planned to stay till Sunday room service and room was on point although front desk never extended any courtesy call to see if we were in need of anything. Then came Steve the person who extended my room one more day. At first he started professionally (gray haired little half mature man) then he got distracted and said sarcastically "GOT ANY LEGAL ISSUES" huh ... I let it slide because it was a split second but it as you can see resonates in my cranial receptor. Fortunately I was on pleasure and not business to address that appropriately overall my stay was quite comfortably . Possibly I would give it another try just proably stay away from closed minded ppl. #drewedwards

I recently had the opportunity to spend a week at the Ethen Allen Inn, in Danbury Ct. I would stay at this hotel hands down when traveling to this area. It may cost slightly more than some others, but you cant beat the friendly front desk staff as well as the awesome restaurant and bar connected to the hotel. Not to mention the cleanliness and beautiful grounds the hotel sits on. It is a dog friendly hotel, however you would never know it as the grounds are kept up, and of course guest are asked to pick up after there animals. It was a pleasure traveling with my service dog to this hotel. I plan to return, and will plan to stay here again. I will recommend you book ahead of time as it books up quite quickly! Thanks to all the staff at the Ethen Allen! Sincerely Kathleen McKean

I photographed a wedding here and was very impressed! The suite the bride & bridesmaids got ready in was stunning and made for magazine-worthy photos! The ceremony location was supposed to be outside in an adorable courtyard, but due to weather it was moved inside - and did not disappoint! The ballroom inside used for the ceremony was beautiful - so rare to have a "back up" plan in such an ideal place. The reception room was beautiful as well, and looked more like a high end banquet venue than a hotel venue. The staff was always present, always friendly and helpful, and totally on point the whole night! The food was delicious to boot. Highly recommend Ethan Allen for weddings & events!
