Ive been to several different kinds of "alternative-seating" theatres, over the years. While the recliners are nice, the overall movie-going experience is about what youd expect of any Regal Theatre: you have to wait in line for everything. Frankly, if having recliners is your primary concern, wait until the movie comes out on BluRay and watch it at home. If its a big movie like Star Wars, theyre not going to get a screening of it here, any way. They dont have table service, so, if your drink runs empty or you run out of snacks, you have to leave the viewing room, traipse a few hundred feet back to the service area, wait in line to order yourself something, wait while they prepare whatever youve ordered and then head back to the viewing room area. Oh... and youll have to pass back through the ticket-taker to get back into the viewing-area (and, if youre like my wife and carry a purse, theyll insist on pawing through it, *again* before letting you back to your seat). You might be thinking to yourself, "Ill just order everything I need to see myself through the movie, and avoid all that." If you think that, youll discover that they have a two-serving limit on drinks. And their servings are stoopidly-small. Similarly, they are stingy with their bathrooms. Theres a couple onesy-type unisex bathrooms scattered in the viewing-hall area, but if you dont want to have to wait for a bathroom, you have to walk all the way back to the main lobby to use the big restrooms found there. So, yeah, just one more thing that will keep you away from your seat for FAR longer than is reasonable and FAR longer than required at most of the theatres Ive gone to in the DC area. Lastly, Regal has their whole "RPX" thing ...but not here. What the hell is up with that?? All in all, it seems like the operators of this cinema have gone out of their way to leave a bad impression about how this type of theatre is run. I can only assume that its some kind of weird attempt to make people think they dont want to go to an alternative-experience movie theatre. Thanks, but Ill go to the Arlington Drafthouse (if I dont feel like driving out to the closest Alamo). About the only thing that keeps me from giving this place a one-star rating is that its cleaner than the filth-hole that is the Potomac Yards Regal multiplex.

First let me states the positives of this theatre: The quality is great, seats are nice and comfy and its small and enjoyable However, in my opinion the negatives seem to outweigh the positives. I am very choosy and specific when it comes to seeing movies and the venue in which I do so. First, the price. It is extremely annoying; it wasnt at first but now its ridiculous. No matter what ticket you purchase, there is an extra surcharge for the reclining seats and I believe that price is about 2.50. Now that might not seem like much, but if youre on a tight budget, dont intend on bringing a date here and eating well because the price will come to around 45 dollars which you could easily use for something a bit better. Second, the lights. They do not dim all the way so there is some excess lighting when you look up and its surprisingly bright. Now this isnt the worst thing ever, but to me it is definitely noticeable and frustrating. Lastly, GETTING SEATS. My word, I love the idea of choosing your own seats but the problem with smaller theatres is that there arent a ton of seats in the individual theatres, thus making it difficult- heck, dang near impossible, to purchase a ticket on the spot. The only way to catch a box-office film at one of these types of venues is to either go early and pick up tickets, or buy them online. The problem with this is that on some of the sites like fandango, there is also a surcharge or convenience fee for the purchase so again, the price will get you. If you want a fun time with your friends or family, where budget is no issue, and you arent too specific about minor flaws, and are willing to go early and snag tickets, then this is definitely the place to go. However if you are like me and want to view a quality film in a dark environment for an average cost with no other outlying issues, I wouldnt highly recommend this venue.

Wow!... thanks to these guys they pretty much ruined my Christmas evening. A friend and I live a 45 min. drive from this theatre and we were having trouble figuring out online, the price for 2 adults to view star wars in 3d @ 4:10. So... i decided it would be best to call and talk to a "knowledgeable" emlployee... I proceeded to tell him exactly what we were looking for.. then I asked how much for 2 adults? He said $15.50. I then asked again is that $15.50 each? Or together? "Together", says the "knowledgeable" emlployee.. Sweet! I tell my friend its $15.50 for the both of us!! We were excited we had exactly enough to get us in and gas in the car to get us there and back home, so we made the journey to springfield... Only to find our Christmas dreams shattered. When we arrived to buy our tickets I said, 2 adults for star wars.. and she says 19.95 please.... wait!! Hold up... this cant be true... I then proceeded to tell her about my phone conversation... then I got to talk to the manager !....only to have him basically tell us tough luck guys. I understand that a price is a price but when a business makes an honest mistake they should own up to it and make it right with the customer!! Thats just good business, especially over less than $5 on christmas evening. Im vary, vary displeased with this Regal Cinemas in Springfield Or. I highly suggest anyone that lives in the area travel only 5 miles! from that theater.. is Regal Cinemas in Eugene Or. they have excellent customer service/satisfaction and way better quality/cinematic experience.

This theater has quickly become our favorite within our area. They have a small bar area where you can purchase drinks (21+ drinks) along with the standard concession area for popcorn, nachos, soda, etc. They also have a decent sized hot food menu to get more substantial food (we havent ordered any, so I cant comment). The two best things about this theater are that you can reserve your seats (which is awesome) and that the seats are full sized leather recliners that are very comfortable. They are designed so that there two together, where you can raise the arm and be shoulder to shoulder with your movie-going companion (or leave it down if theres a stranger next to you. Each chair is also equipped with a drink holder in the arms and a swivel table to sit food. Due to the large reclining chairs, the number of people inside each theater is considerably lower than a normal stadium seat theater, which reduces the sound and chaos going on during a movie. The only drawbacks are that when you select your seats online there is a row dedicated to wheelchairs and it doesnt seem to be totally clear which spots are for the wheelchair and which is for the friend of the wheelchair. Weve seen people accidentally purchase the wheelchair spot and then show up and theres no actual chair. The other problem is that for some reason people seem to think they can sit anywhere. If you select specific seats people, sit in them. Its your fault if you dont buy them early enough to get the seats you actually wanted.
