Like stepping back in time to my childhood, Niantic Cinema is exactly the hometown style movie theater I’ve been looking for. Tucked in the adorable Main Street of Niantic, this smaller movie theater offers showings of current box office favorites for a fraction of the cost of the big theaters. Though this theater may not have all the bells and whistles the fancy, expensive movie theaters have (no need for plush, reclining chairs, thanks) what this theater does have is the feeling of NOSTALGIA. The candy that you scoop, reasonably priced concessions, and the classic movie theater feel all made me feel like a kid again, enchanted to go to the movies. In the rare event I go to the movies, this is where I see them now.

Niantic Cinemas - Niantic, CT - 5/30/2015 This is a quaint local theatre in a beach community. Youd never know it by the looks outside but there are actually 5 theaters inside of this building. They run the latest movies and unlike a lot of theaters, the jumbo popcorn is just that... Jumbo! And as a bonus they over fill the tub... Yum. They have a great selection of candy also... Its primarily an older crowd that goes there so often times if you go the the late show the place will be almost empty. On opening night of Furious 7 there were maybe 20 people in the entire place and that was the early showing. Great place to go!

Old school Small Town Cinema. This one happens to be in the small town that we live in, so were a little bit partial to it. I used to come here to see Independent films when I was much younger, now they do first-run movies on a smaller screen and charge a little bit less than youd expect to pay at a big movie theater. Very awesome laid-back atmosphere right in the heart of Niantic Connecticut a Scenic and beautiful coastal town. Walk across the street to go on to our two-mile Boardwalk on the ocean or just stroll down Main Street do some shopping or enjoy a meal at one of the Cozy bistros in town.

20170908 A woman actually took a cell call during the film... The EXIT sign to the right of the stage is white with red letters - very bright and distracting - ruins the ambiance of the nice theater. The whole theater is illuminated by this white light (the EXIT sign on the left is red glowing letters - much easier on the eyes - see: Purkinje effect). Also, please oil the seat hinges - WD-40? The seats are so squeaky that that noise, plus the bright light, really spoiled the opening-night viewing of "IT". The film was great - the venue nice - our experience: Meh

Been going here for over 20 years. Just saw Manchester By The Sea and there was a projection problem. When I pointed it out to the ticket guy, he acknowledged it was a maintenance issue. Offered nothing - not even an apology and was a little sarcastic about it. I understand things can go wrong but in the name of simple courtesy and professionalism, I would have hoped for a better response. I believe the teenager collecting tickets at the local multi flex would have been nicer about it

This is my hometown theater; I love going to this place because its close to my house and the prices are cheaper than youd get in Westbrook or Waterford. The lobby is full of posters of old movies; and its really improved since they did the upgrade about 5 years ago. Parking is great; with a parking lot across the street and a larger one in back.

This little town theatre has always been a treat since I was 12 years old. A conveniently located parking lot in the back is handy. Clean and well maintained. Needs better signage for prices of popcorn and drinks and candy. I was lost as to what they had, where to line up, what the prices were and how to get candy...

I grew up going here. In an age of 3D and lazy boy theater chairs, Niantic cinema sticks with its roots. Go grab a drink at the black sheep, walk over 100 paces to the theater, grab a popcorn and a bag of candy you can scoop up and custimize, and catch a flick. You wont regret it. What can I say, Ill always love it.

This Cinema is affordable. It is clean and well maintained. It may not have luxury seating, but the seats are not uncomfortable. They show all the latest new releases and have a punch card reward system for free movie tickets and concessions.

Sure its a bit funky by "modern" standards but who needs all that extra stuff? Usually 1 or 2 decent films along with the blow em ups they need to run to survive. It and the DQ make for the perfect night on the town ...

Great value in ticket prices and refreshments. Almost an old time feel to the theater though the size of some theaters seems to be shrinking. Great place to watch first-run films at a value price.

Great beach town theater, needs some upgrading, but overall a good little move theater. The hallway to the back parking lot could use some extra lighting and welcoming decoration . . . .

I love the movie theatre in Niantic. So nice to have a small old fashioned movie theatre that plays movies that just come out. So convenient. It makes the town!

Cute small-town movie theatre. Nothing real fancy but good quality and enjoyable. Plus its right on Main Street so walking distance to bars and restaurants.

The prices are fair, and the concession stand is cheap. The staff are friendly and its right next to a Subway if you want to grab a bite before the show.

Fantastic theatre! Lots of kids movies and the only place I can bring my 8 year old, have popcorn, snacks and be out of there for less than $25.00
