I used to come to the Isle at least 3 times per month and loved it. I hadnt come for about 3 years and I was shocked at how much things have gone downhill. They are remodeling now, so it appears they are trying to better the place. I recommend cleaning house with your staff! The majority were very rude. Shout out to Darcy for being so kind but everyone else could use a lesson in customer service. I played slots for more than 2 hours and was never once offered a drink. When I finally tracked down a server, she told me that I wasnt playing in her section and to go to the bar. JUST GETS WORSE FROM THERE. Your stuck up busty blonde bartender ignored me for a good 10 minutes, while chatting it up with other patrons. Then she rudely asked, if I was even playing at the bar? I had just put $20 in and clearly was playing. She seemed upset to have to serve me and give me a complimentary cocktail. I even offered to pay her for the drink. When she brought my drink to me she claimed to have lost my $100 bill, I had just handed her. After accusing me of not giving it to her, she managed to find it and give me my change. I ordered 3 drinks from her and watched her make them and she never put the alcohol in them as I requested. She also asked for my I.D. even though I was clearly wearing their bright pink wrist band. I obliged and gave her my I.D. Im in my late 30s. Still didnt get any alcohol in my drink. She is the worst bartender I have ever dealt with and Ive been a server for many years. I would have tipped her well too, her loss. She just relies on flaunting her chest to the men and ignoring the women. I then went on to play black jack. I find it funny that they only keep one $5 table open and all the other dealers just stand around empty tables. I tried playing at the $5 table at least 10 times during our stay and the table was always full. Open more tables! I also saw the same woman playing 3 hands while people waited and hoped to play. What a joke! I liked the Tradewinds food and the room was ok. But for $100 on a Thursday! Ive stayed at way nicer places in the $60-$90 range. Room was dirty, the bed was very comfy. The TV sits on a cabinet and you cant control the remote from the bed with how the TV is placed. No fan in the bathroom and the water pressure was horrible. Still managed to make the best of it and won a lil money at their sister casino. I will visit Black Hawk again. we just wont be making any donations to the Isle, Ever Again! Update: I was quoted $95 for the room and was charged an extra $50 for incidentals. This was never explained to me and I left the room in the same condition it was in when I arrived. I would like to know why I was charged and when I can expect my refund? I have a receipt from check out with a total of $109. Now my card shows $159! This place has a lot of nerve. Ill be visiting Ameristar from now on and Im telling everyone I know.

Went to Blackhawk a couple of weeks ago as a spontaneous adventure with an out-of-town friend and was extremely disappointed in this location ONLY (we had an amazing overnight stay at a double-bed, clean Ameristar room on the top floor for only $84). We came to experience the Isle, eat, have some drinks, and play some games. When my friend and I went to the bar to get drinks, since we were not offered any the entire time we had been playing, we came back from the bar to join our friend from out-of-town at the slot machine he was playing at. The machine next to him was empty, so I sat down, put a $20 bill in, and started playing. About 5 minutes into playing, a man came up to me and immediately started yelling at me that I stole his machine. His players card was not inserted, his chair was not propped up to hold his spot, and there were no drinks or personal belongings anywhere...according to him, he had left "his machine", came back 5-10 minutes later, saw me winning, and demanded I give it back to him. He caused such a scene that multiple security were on the scene almost immediately. His wife also appeared, about 2 minutes after the scene started, and she was calling my friends and I "stupid Americans" (they were both elderly and Asian, pulling the age and race cards frequently, while smirking and laughing at my friends and I) and yelling at us in front of security and guests, which the security LET HAPPEN without trying to calm or diffuse the situation at all. What negative attention to draw in front of the other players. THE HOTEL STAFF AND SECURITY HANDLED THIS TERRIBLY, and I have an 8 minute long VIDEO RECORDING on my cellphone of the ENTIRE incident, including my friends and I ONLY (not the couple that left their machine) being embarrassingly escorted out of the hotel casino, for NO REASON WHATSOEVER. This hotel KNEW they were in the wrong, and offered me a measly $20 to make up for the issue...what a JOKE. At the time, it was not even worth fighting for what I DESERVED and further ruin our visiting guests night. If you are running a casino and well-known tourist destination in Blackhawk, you should take things like rules of gambling and customer service more seriously. Why even have all those expensive security cameras to look at if you are going to screw all of your guests spending money at YOUR establishment over anyways?! I wasnt going to bother with leaving a review because places like this are almost too far gone to change, and will get in major legal trouble anyway if they were to get caught for something like I have on video...but one of my coworkers unfortunately went and stayed there this past weekend and had a similar AWFUL experience (they got their room here, had dirty sheets with hair still on the pillows, etc.) so I decided to try to spread the word to avoid others fun plans being completely destroyed. Good luck, Isle, you need it.

Let me first just say Ive been going to the Isle for many years and have had great interactions and service from past hosts like Lori, Chuck,Sherry and Starla who unfortunately are no longer there. Having said that I went and brought a friend along about a month ago to gamble and have some fun. My usual routine is to check in at the VIP office and see whats up with my account and just say hi to my host. Well let me tell you about the rude, unprofessional, discourteous host I encountered at the door of The VIP entrance. My card key wasnt working. I knocked on the door and an employee named Bradley showed up and I said hello Im Lance and Im looking for my host. He immediately asked for me to show my member card and blocked my way in. He eventually did let us in and we proceeded to the VIP office. The office was completely empty by the way and no other players were there for the duration of my time with this uncaring cold person Bradley they hired to be a "host" it appears. I asked about my account and I felt like he couldnt be bothered. He explained the reward program had changed and I lost some of my perks and that was the way it was and was going to be going further. I asked him to clarify and expand on why and what happened to my lost perks. With that he just repeated twice the new rules and regulations. Thx Bradley but I heard you the 2nd time. He made me feel like I didnt belong there and I was not worthy of his time. (Did I mention Ive been a Platinum player for about 7-8 years at The Isle). With that my friend and I left and I asked my friend if he got the same uncaring ,cold ,unprofessional , negative guest service feeling that I felt. He agreed. With that we stayed and played for a couple hours won some $$ and left. Usually I always stay the night in a comped room. Not this time. Couldnt wait to leave and probably wont come back due to Bradleys said treatment of us. I dont know what has happened to The Isle lately but after reading other reviews Im troubled by those same negative reviews. Might be time to check the more modern updated Ameristar.
