Our suite at the Century was one of nicest and coolest accommodations weve ever stayed in. I could go on and on about it, but to cut to the chase, the lighting was amazing, with ample task lighting combined with softer overhead lighting. The bathroom finishes were urbane. The window between the shower and the room was fun, plus it allowed natural light from the four huge windows into the bathroom. The bedding was first rate. If I hit the lottery and could design a bedroom suite in my house, this is the design Id use. A couple minuses...the shower controls are placed so you get wet turning on the shower. The water saver toilet was weird when it was filling up, kind of like there might be a sensor inside that was turning the fill off and on. It sounded kind of like the toilet was regurgitating water into the tank. The room was quiet. Were very particular about quiet. We were in Cripple Creek on a Monday and Tuesday, so things were pretty dead, and we heard no noise from the casino or from Bennett Avenue. It was extremely windy while were were there, so we did hear a bit of noise from the flags mounted by our windows. Mid-City Grille was great. We visited three times and were happy with everything. The tomato-basil tortilla was a lovely surprise that I would have never expected with my quesadilla. In the course of our two days we enjoyed the spaghetti with meat sauce, chicken parmesan, chicken quesadilla, green chili, shrimp basket, fish and chips, and several salads. All were perfect and well-presented. The wait staff was friendly and professional, and service was prompt. The casino reminded me a little of Central City, with a cut up space, tight slots, and almost nonexistent drink service. If you want a better casino, go to Wildwood. One additional observation...when we arrived, we dragged our luggage up several weird groups of stairs from the back parking lot to the hotel elevator. This morning as we were leaving, we discovered that there is a ramp to both Bennett Avenue and to the back parking lot. Its at the front NW corner of the building. Look for the Mid-City Grill signs. I wonder why the heck the people at the hotel desk didnt tell us about it when we arrived. I wonder why they didnt put the front desk on the same level as the restaurant, ramp, and elevator, and I wonder how they meet code to be ADA compatible with all those stairs. As a matter of fact, the people at the hotel desk werent that great all the way around. When I made the reservation, the woman I talked to was super friendly and accommodating, told us we could arrive early if necessary, and was generally enthusiastic and helpful. When we arrived, one of the staffers was sipping on a huge Pepsi something, and they just seemed like they had better things to do than to take care of us. Plus, somehow the early arrival promise got lost. We arrived at 2:30 and were told that wed need to wait until 4:00 to get into our room. So, not so friendly and accommodating after all. Heres the bottom line: Casino - Drink service in casino - - Hotel desk staff - - Hotel room +++ Food at Mid Century Grill + Restaurant wait staff ++

Best stay in Cripple Creek. My husband and I decided to celebrate our 5 year anniversary in Cripple Creek. There arent many choices for this quaint town. We settled on this place because this was the only "modern" looking stay that we could find. Im afraid to say that were just not into the "old Victorian" look (no offense intended). We both were so happy on our choice. The initial phone reservation was pleasant and very helpful in trying to make our stay as memorable as possible. She went in to detail about parking, the type of room to expect, and other suggestions about what we could do while we visited. When we arrived, we knew exactly where to park and where to go to check in because of the phone conversation. Once we got to check in, the women behind the counter explained in detail 2 different ways to get to our room. When we got to our room, there was a note congratulating us on our anniversary with balloons and complementary champagne. The room was "spacious" and we were so impressed with the ambiance. Dont get me wrong, weve stayed in beautiful American hotels from Hawaii to New York. But this is Cripple Creek. The room was FABULOUS for the location. Ive seen other reviews that had the complete opposite of our experience and Im completely shocked. Everyone made our stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible. Now, we have treasured memories and intend to be back for future stays. We would highly recommend this hotel for those choosing to stay in this wonderful town. BUT, a very useful side note for those with children. THIS IS NOT the hotel for anyone under the age of 21. We were told upon booking that this hotel is for people 21 years old and older. This is located in a casino.

First time at Century and all together its pretty nice. Front desk attendant was great and very helpful. We decided to eat at their Mid City grill and ended up extremely dissapointed. We could tell that the food was prepared ahead of time and possibly microwaved. Spaghetti was mushy and bland. It was like eating wet bread with something like meatballs on it. The half chicken they offer was also poor. The leg was almost missing it was so small and it was dried out and rubbery. I wouldnt recomend eating here unless its a last resort and it almost is up here. The room was very nice though and talk about clean! Looks recently renovated and modernized. Simple but a good value. Noise level was probably three out of ten. Not noisy but there were occasional sounds from the next room and air conditioning. Nothing bad though. Certainly would rec this place but not the food. Casino was obviously old but still fun. Doesnt matter because you can casino hop at your discression.

The atmosphere is nice for the size of the place. My server Allyssa was very pleasant. The food was rather slow for not having but a quarter occupancy. Food was all frozen and or bagged goods. Bacon was not thick cut as advertized and came precrumbled with extra preservatives. The whole breakfast burrito was cooked together with the eggs making the bacon too cooked and the onions only warmed up. If I wanted food cocked with no care I would have gone to McDonalds and got this same meal for half the price. The one redeeming food stuff was the green chili. I dont care for traditional pork green chili but it was done well with a traditional taste. Overall I was not impressed with the grill. Unless you are staying at the hotel and have no other food supply or are going for one of there numerous daily specials I would pass this place for anything on down the road.

Visited 3 casinos in this area. 1 took 5 dollars of funds with maybe 0.25 in returns. A literal jackass. (Yes, literally and figuratively) 1 took 4 dollars of funds over an hour of nickle slots, which was really neat. It was a rose of a place. Like its namesake This place I put 0.75 cents into a slot and won 25.50 in rewards. I will be the first to tell you it was blind luck. Every casino lets a few people win. I was one of them. But hey, I did win. This place also lets you do 2 dollars burgers as of the time of this writing if it is a Tuesday. The burger will taste like a high school cafeteria. The fries will too. You are getting a high school meal for a high school price. Drink included. For me, that is just fine. Overall, of all the casinos I went to this was a treat from an out of state person. Across the street is ample parking.
