We come here often and its fun in the sense of keeping a classic tradition alive. Of course you expect the typical unsavory-yet-acceptable activities, but the attendance of these potheads specifically are just too damn high! I often have to worry about passing a drug test with my employer based on the tonnage of weed exhaust emitting from this place and filtering with protest through my nostrils. Last time we arrived early as usual, and some inconsiderate partiers decided to park perpendicular right in front of us. They were also more interested in catching up on the past years events than watching the movie. And I was simply trying to receive discrete "interaction" from the wife and these knuckleheads killed it. I was already frustrated and now angry. Since these guys had 15+ people in their group, I decided to move in hopes of salvaging the evening. Also, theres no way Id be able to teach these people how to be considerate. The movie was enjoyable, but I had to wait until we got home to finish the evening. Dissapointed. There seems to be "something" annoying that happens each time from inconsiderate people, and I really do try to ignore it. But there really needs to be security personnel. Also, be sure to bring a loud enough radio since the highway traffic drowns out the sound often. But, its still fun to go and we try to find a way to enjoy ourselves each time.

The Solano drive through is a great value, especially if youre in the mood for just chilling with soda and popcorn on the back of a pickup truck with a boombox. Service is reasonable, and facilities are holding their own. The usual popcorn and soft drinks are there, as well as Ice Cream. Their is a no open fire policy though, so dont expect to create the cinematic nirvana of tailgate viewing parties. However, Bay Area favorite Kidners Meats and Deli is just on other side of the freeway. Drive-thru cinema is different, and may not be for everyone. You provide the sound system, and if you opt to watch from the bed of a pickup youll be fighting the noise from Highway 4. But you can bring an air mattress with you. Such is the beauty of the drive-thru. Note of etiquette: latecomers driving into the theater mid-movie should consider switching to dimmer parking lamps. The blinding light is painful to peoples eyes, and makes it hard to appreciate the film. If people flash you with their headlamps as you drive past, your doing it wrong.

Ive been coming here often, for the last 7 years. Cant beat being able to watch two movies for the price of one. Its especially nice when you have very young children who can not sit still in a movie theater yet. You do have to arrive very early when there is a movie premier. The line of cars for new movies is usually more than 3 city blocks long. Mist days it is not crowded. Ive never really had a problem when I go. You do come across some people that smoke herb, but they usually keep to themselves and stay in the car to smoke. A lot of families go. They have customer appreciation nights at least twice a year, which I always go to as well. They show free movies, they have a live band playing mainly fun oldies, free face painting and they always have some type of free kids activites, like a jumper and train ride. Most of these events tend to get crowded. Its good fun though.

Great times, less than $20. For a family of five to watch a movie! Cant beat that, we got there late found a spot just as the main show "Cars 3" started, 2nd day of showing (missed the previews ) but still able to get a killer view of the big screen near the rear exit. Kids on top of car, toddler in front seat of car and us comfortable in the car too. Bring you own food! !!! Popcorn from home without the too much salt. Plenty of room, able to walk around cars not packed in, no worries about other people talking and we can talk without disturbing others, other car radios blaring made it easy for our kids on the roof top to hear, but next time I am bringing a portable radio too. My Kids are already planning for the next movie! !!!

you know what there are enough places that ban smoking for all you crybabies to be whining about people smoking at an OUTDOOR movie venue. What do you expect. Get over it, i feel like I am discriminated against for being a smoker. Its becoming as bad as racism was. Why keep making more rules, if you dont like it, go to a regular movie theater so us "potheads" can have somewhere to enjoy ourselves without having to worry about getting into trouble. At least we dont act crazy and out of control. We are just trying to enjoy ourselves like everyone else. Also it is legal... Health and Safety Code 11362.5 (Prop 215)

Heres the deal, my girlfrinds car radio is out of order, I tried calling 3-4 times to see if they offered small rental radios to be able to listen. Nobody answered the phone. We get to the gate, no rentals, brushes off the fact nobody answered ad tells me I should be able to download an app to tune to 105.7 and be able to listen in that way. If not I was told Id be reimbured or compensated. I downloaded almost every single radio app and on not a single one did 105.7 work. When I went to go get that refund there was nobody at the gate spoiled what would have been a nice family outing

I love to bring my grandkids to drive in, and they love it too, the staff are friendly, the food is great, you can enjoy the movies in the comfort of your own car, BUT what I dont like is when we are enjoying the movie and the fresh air their is always someone next to us or in front of us and or behind us that will smoke, I cant stand the smell of smoke and my grandkids should not have to breathe it. can you make a designated area for all smokers? they can all go to a certain corner? This happens everytime we go there, everyone smokes. Thank you,

We have been coming here for a couple of years now. The entrance service is good they are usually very polite and friendly. mostly the guys are professional but some of the women were not polite on a couple occasions, did not give us the attention we at least deserve being the customer and all. talking a lot about personal life and did not greet nor thank us. over all experience good best thing about them the EST ROOMS ARE ALWAYS CLEAN and we can bring our babies with us

Great place for some family fun times. The place has two theaters and each ticket purchase includes a double feature of new and recent blockbuster movies. We went on one of their occasional free days and got to see the Lego Movie and Frozen. The ground is uneven, which makes it slightly for people with low cars. Those who came in SUVs, minivans, and trucks seemed to have no issues backing into the bumpy spaces, though my Civic may have suffered a bit.

Wanted to give our granddaughter a Drive In Movie experience. The show was to begin at 8:55 p.m. and did not start until 9:45 p.m. This does not reward people for getting to the theater on time but does reward the late comers. Had we known how well late comers are treated we would have arrived at 9:30 p.m. and not be forced to stay in line for half an hour by arriving earlier. This was our first and last time attending the Solano Drive-In Theater.
