Back in the 1940s our family spent many weekends at this park. Great times. In the 1950s, as a teenager, we still had fun at Hillcrest Park; plus Hillcrest Drive-In. In the 60s I went off to Vietnam for 2-1/2 years...came home, "things had changed. Hillside park, and was over-run by hippies and drugs. Ive divided them because not all hippies used drugs, and not all drug users were hippies! It was a combination of the drugs and free love that ending up closing down the Park at night; with strong police enforcement. Still with the negative comments Im leaving, 5 stars is easy. Hillcrest Park is a beautiful area of Fullerton, California. One last point; if you are ever near - go see beautiful Hillcrest Park.

Its Fullerton, what do you expect? When I first sent here to stroll around, I was greeted by blaring loud stereos and engines rumbling of car enthusiasts who seemed like the edgy millenials you come to expect. Hillcrest just wasnt....classy. Yes, expect a couple homeless people, and expect a really somber vibe, but I found the little trails around here to be quite adventurous and worth a walk. I still worry about my safety here even in broad daylight, however.

Ive lived next to this park for 20+ years and the entire time there would always be drug use and overnight stays by vagrants. Police know about the overnight vagrants at the Hillcrest recreation center and do little to stop it. On the plus, there is some new construction going on the park that should improve much of its appearance and they installed some expensive stairs to work out on.

Love this park. Big park to come and walk. Lots of people come here to exercise and walk the trails. They just added some long exercise stairs by the baseball field. Come once or twice a week to do them. They really make you sweat and put in work. Beautiful place to sit at top and view the city and sunset.

The restrooms are NEVER clean, even after I see the cleaning women attempt to clean them. One time, I walked into the womens room and someone took a huge, explosive bowel movement in there. Legit. It was so disgusting and no one cleaned it for a couple days.

Beautiful park with an amazing view. The one downside is it couldnt believe how many people I saw smoking weed right out in the open in broad daylight on a Sunday. I encountered 4 groups of people smoking weed.

Its had a lot of trails and different parts of the park to explore, but it needs some TLC. If youre looking for a lot of hills and stairs this is the park for you. They recently rebuilt a huge set of stairs.
