Very Good for appeal but not so good on once you finally find a place to park (can be costly) and the staff seem to be lacking in social skills or maybe they just dont like their jobs. I am lucky to live close enough to be able to walk to this theater. I agree with those reviewers that close parking is either non-existent or expensive, just like all of downtown Sacramento is. There is the option for people that dont want to deal with parking and just take the lightrail which stops only one block away and is $6.00 for an all day pass. Also, there is plenty of nice restaurants close by if you want to make it a nice day of it. The movie prices are pretty high and if you are taking you kids it can add up very quickly. Over $50+ over a family of 4 easily. Yes the 3D glasses are cheap and can be scratched up but you can just ask for a non-scratched pair. I have my own personal pair so I dont have to deal with this issue. The best part is just seeing movies on a 60 foot high screen in 3D with a (somewhat loud at times) surround sound system. If you never seen an IMAX 3D moive I would recommend seeing one and try not let the extenuating circumstances of this theater turn you away.

The BIGGEST a reason of my complaints are not about the theater its all about their reservation policy. This has to be the worst system in the world. I thought all IMAXs were like this but nope, I have friends in a lot of other areas and they have never heard of an IMAX with assigned seating. Thats not all, along with assigned seating they make you stand around in a line outside for half an hour before the movie even starts..really? I understand cleaning but even then it should not take upwards of 30 minutes. And again I have friends who have never heard of any of these types of policies in their imaxs and they dont complain about their theaters being dirty or having seating issues, so I dont know whats up with this one but they really need to look at that because I would love to see more movies here but when I think of all this crap you have to put up with Id much rather give that up for a normal theater with no obnoxious rules.

The theatre itself is awesome. Seeing a movie there is wonderful. The concessions, on the other hand, leave a lot to be desired. They have some great food choices, but when we arrived to see Star Wars (which was a sold out show) they had no hot dogs available to purchase. We were told at 15 minutes before the movie started that they would be ready in 10 minutes. Instead of selling us the hot dogs right then, and having us pick them up when they were available...we had to get back in line and wait. Needless to say, the line was so long because of the sold out show we never made it even halfway through the line again before we had to leave the line to see the movie. Poor planning on their part. Should have enough staff available for a sold out popular movie like Star Wars...and have food already cooking so that people can purchase it BEFORE the show starts.

Fantastic Experience. Each and every time we go. Prices are not cheap. But it is extremely important to me that we get to choose our specific seats. That means no hurrying to the theater to get a good seat. The concession stand is like most theaters. They are simply going to make money off of you. But but a large popcorn and cola and you get a free refill on both. One heck of a deal. The screen is beyond huge. Picture quality is absolutely incredible. And the sound system rocks. And the only thing better than a regular movie is one of their 3D movies. Oh, park at the 10th Street public lot and get your ticket validated. Treat you and your honey to a real fun time. You wont be disappointed.

Not wasting my money at IMAX ever again. The last movie I seen there was Rouge one and the quality of the film was horrendous! It looked like a bootleg version of the movie and was not in the least professional by any means. When showing the trailers the windows program kept popping up and in the middle of the movie during an action scene the picture shut off! When they finally got it back on they didnt even rewind the movie so we missed that scene! And to make up for it they gave us a coupon for a free popcorn which I guess you may say its the thought that counts but I rather have had them rewind the movie.

They booked me for the wrong day over the phone. The only way I found out was that I went online and the day I intended to book for (Sunday) didnt have the show time that they booked me on. I called back and the best they could do is give me comp tickets, for which I was required to go to the box office in person. Total screw up. Why couldnt they just rebook me over the phone? The manager didnt seem to care. Make sure to book online. Dont even bother calling them. Other than that experience, the theatre itself is OK for IMAX, which is why I am giving this two stars instead of one (for poor customer service).

I did see avatar in 3D at this theater. 1. they did not have enough staff working to check people in and provide service at the snack bar. If you wanted something from the snack bar you were late to see the movie start. 2. The glasses were quite cheap and scratched. 3. I called about parking and they told me where to part for validated parking. When I went back to my car I found out the validation they provide is very minimal. I paid $26 for parking after my validation discount. I didnt go anywhere else but to and from the theater. I wouldnt go there again.

Nothing I have experienced is quite like IMAX. In recent memory, the two movies I have seen here are Interstellar and Star Wars the Force Awakens. Both of these movies have fantastic visual effects and production value, and the IMAX level sights and sounds really help to bring the experience to life. I also love the reserved seating system so there isnt that urgency to get there super early. Their popcorn is pretty tasty as well and they even offer seasoning powders to add to it afterwards. TLDR BIG EXPLOSIONS MAKE MOVIE AWESOME LAWL #YOLO

Its Imax! I love this place! Anywhere you sit is a great seat. Isnt it a great thing to be able to choose where you sit, though? The seats are much more comfortable, typically, then most theaters. Imax serves alcohol now, as well. Far superior then any other theater, and about the same cost, not sure why people go to those 2nd rate theaters when there is an option to see it in Imax format. Seen Star trek screening here, got a commerative pin, Perks! Enjoy myself every single time.

On 1-2-2016 me and my father went to go see Star Wars: The Force Awakens and I am disabled in a wheelchair to. We go up to the counter and asked for tickets, but were told its sold out. We asked why (Cause there wasnt any other disabled wheelchair bond people.) and they said "We put chairs in the handicap spots for people." They refused to let me go in even though its illegal to let able people take reserved handicap spaces. Review will not change til the issue is fixed.
