AMC West Chester 18 is a popular movie theater located in West Chester Township, Ohio. It offers a variety of screening options and has a rewards program to enhance customer experience. However, it seems that the theater could improve in areas like customer service and clarity of information.

The movie experience and facility is nice and clean for sure and updated seats and bar too. Im sure to offset the Cobb theater in competition though. So amc was probably hurt by the Cobb theater bc its so nice and convenient and luxurious, hence why they updated their own facility in order not lose business. However, the one thing amc theater is lacking at the west chester location specifically is customer service. Im not speaking about the food and beverages etc. This is about getting tickets and customer service. You get a whole bunch of attitude when purchasing tickets in advance. I choose to get tickets in advance so that myself and my family do not have to hassle in getting seats that are already sold out. I know that I can purchase them online buy it cost me a "convenience fee" of 3.00 dollars to do this. This is not "convenient" at all, especially if Im already in the area to purchase them at this facility instead of online anyways. BUT I DEFINITELY DONT NEED THE ATTITUDE FROM THE STAFF. Secondly, normally movies have a matinee showing on certain movies everyday. So around 10 or 11 youre thinking would be a matinee showing. So you would think that the facility is open to purchase tickets. Nope. There is nothing on the website when it says that they open the doors to customers, if you call you get No one at all for your questions, even if you follow all the prompts to speak to someone. No one at ANY time answers the phone. What pisses me off the most is that I went this morning at 10am, again having know clue when they open bc no one will answer that question for me, the doors were locked. No sign of hours of operation, but low and behold someone was inside at the counter. I dont know what he was doing or saying but he was dressed like a manager in business wear and just shook his head at me and went away further inside. So he ignored me. He couldve came to the door and said something like "maam we arent open yet" and couldve gave me the hours that they do. But oh no. Being the manager and all he couldnt do that. I guess no one ever can ever be nice and do their job and help people. Pos people. People customer service. IM BEYOND PISSED OFF

My Dad, Brother-In-Law, Niece and I went to AMC West Chester on December 18th for the 7:20 PM Showing of the New Movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D". We got to the Theater an Hour and Half Early because we thought it was going to be Crazy Crowded with it being the First Day the Movie was out but it wasnt as Bad as we had Expected. I think that the Employees had a lot to do with that because they had it Very Organized. When we got to the Employee who was taking the Tickets she was Incredibly Helpful with Explaining Exactly to us which Screen Number the Movie was Playing On because it wasnt Posted Yet because of how Early we had Arrived. When we got to the Entrance Area for the Movie there were 2 Employees waiting to go in and Clean after the Movie that was letting out before our Movie was going to begin Seating. They were Very Polite with telling us that we would be able to go in as soon as they Finished Cleaning. When they came back out they said to us "We Could Go In Now and To Enjoy The Movie". My Dad and Brother-In-Law then went to get Popcorn and Drinks and said they were Very Surprised about how Fast the Employees were at the Concession Area because it was so Busy. Overall The Best Movie Experience I have Ever Had and I will Defiantly be Returning to AMC West Chester !! I am Already Planning on Going Back this Weekend to see the Star Wars Movie Again on the IMAX 3D Screen !! A Big Thanks To All the Employees Who are So Polite and Helpful !!

My wife and I frequent this theater. I normally do not write reviews, but I felt compelled to write one as a rebuttal to an erroneous review written by an obvious troublemaker. A few weeks back we went to see Guardians 2 in IMAX 3D. During the trailers, a couple entered with their two children and carrying a bag. They sat two rows behind us. Directly behind us was two gentlemen. The children began running up and down the aisle and making an outrageous amount of noise. One of the middle age gentlemen behind us left the theater, presumably to complain. My wife and I noticed the manager visited the noisy couple. A few minutes later, we started to hear sounds that sounded like a dog. We turned around and noticed the loud couple with kids had a puppy in their bag. The gentleman sitting behind us left the theater again, presumably to report them. After his return, the couple had left with the dog in bag. What compelled me to write this review was to set the record straight. The gentlemen behind us did not utter racial slurs as Sean McHone claimes. They actually did all of us a favor by reporting Mr. McHone for having noisy children and bringing a puppy to the theater. Sean McHone should be ashamed for his actions. I commend the gentlemen that sat behind us for taking action, and if they did not report Sean McHone, I would have.

Overall, not a very good experience. For being such a new theater, I was expected a better experience. I regularly attend the Showcase 18 in Springdale, which is an amazing theater. I saw one of the $6.50 matinees here, and was utterly displeased with the experience. Some observation: 1. The movie was cinemascope, but they didnt bother to mask the screen. This meant I watched the film letterboxed. Normally, the black borders that come up on the top and bottom help to hide this effect. It was just noticeable and somewhat distracting. 2. The seats, compared to Showcase, are uncomfortable and dont recline very far. 3. The sound was pretty low with a very high bass, resulting in some muffled audio during the movie. 4. Finally, the BIG one: the projectors. I was sitting half-way back in the auditorium, and the screendoor effect was terrible. My best guess is they are using older style 2k projectors. The 2k projection at Showcase has never had this problem, at least not from what I have seen. 5. Sort of an add-on: The preshow was audio only, even though it was the same preshow used at Showcase - which had video to it. My best guess is that they are cheating the advertisers who pay for the spots in the pre-show by not showing the accompanying ads with the audio. Not that I like ads, just an observation.
