Came here while spending the weekend in Aptos. Pros: it seems like a well locally owned theatre. Staff are friendly and polite. Movie theatre was clean and inviting. Popcorn was fresh along with other foods. Bathrooms are clean. Cons: CASH ONLY was a major disappointment. The seating in the theatre was flat so the person in front of you interfered with your view. The theatre we were in, the speakers were crackling which was very distracting. The walls were not sound proof during silent parts I could hear other movies playing and people in the hallways. Overall the cons outweighed the positives and this is why I gave it two stars but I appreciate the friendly staff, and cleanliness which you dont get in major big name theatres.

Ok, the employees are very nice. However the price for admission is a bit high for the facility and for the comfort of the chairs. Second they only take cash. Oh unless you use one of there ATM machines that charge you, if I remember correctly three dollars to pull your money out to watch a show at there theatre. hmm. Then there is the price of there stale popcorn and over priced sodas and hot dogs. Come on this theatre is out dated expensive and just not worth the money you pay for the comfort and food you get. I would rather travel the 25 min to Salinas or Santa Cruz.

LOVE this theater!!! Dont know why I never came here all of the years I lived in Santa Cruz Mountains and Santa Cruz. Beautiful, fresh and clean on the outside and inside. Good popcorn and snacks. Friendly and helpful staff. Decent selection of movies (though an occasional "indie" movie would be fun - love the recent movies in spanish with subtitles). This is a paradise for my daughter and me to escape to a couple of times a month. And being signed up for the newsletter I get an occasional free popcorn!! One of my very favorite businesses in Watsonville . . .

Great place to see a movie seating is comfortable, the staff is great, they make regular walk throughs to make sure Those People are not on their Cell Phones or Laughing and Talking throughout the movie. They also host Birthday Parties as well...and if you are Craving Popcorn and the Microwave Kind just doesnt do it for you, drive by and simply Ask if you can buy a popcorn or anything else and they are totally Cool about it. Sure! Come On In... Great Theatre for locals not wanting to make the 18 mile Trek to Santa Cruz.

I love this theater, Ive been coming here my entire life and Ive always had an enjoyable expirence. The food is great, service is always friendly and very helpful. The staff welcomes you with a warm smile and it just has this warm genuine vibe about it. Its honestly one of my favorite movie theaters Ive been to because it has this classsic movie theater look to it. Over all this is just a wonderful place to just go to relax and enjoy yourself even with the cash only rule, it still makes for a wonderful experience

This theatre could use a make-over. They STILL only accept cash at the front window, the taller of the two drinking fountains in the main lobby has been broken for several years, and the ATM-with-surcharge out front is obnoxious. Many other local theatres have upgraded to nicer seating, and its about time the Cinema 9 snaps out of it and gets with the program. Its the only theatre in a town of 52,000! Geez.

I thought the sound was so low I had to really tune in to what was being said. This was for a film that looked like it was bleached out on too small of a screen. However, they charge more than the big chain theater a few exits up? This place is poorly kept, overpriced and dont get me started on the popcorn, it tasted like stale product to be sure! Save your money or make the drive and get your moneys worth.

Today I went to see Minions 3, it was a good movie but the movie stopped randomly! We told a worker that the movie stopped. She said that we were in the WRONG room so she took us to a different room.I thought they were going to start the movie were we left off but they didnt. They started the movie ALL OVER AGAIN and we were more than half way through the movie!

My wife and I see most all of our movies here. We are always happy with the quality of the image and sound, the staff and the general cleanliness of the theatre. I worked for 40 years in the cinema industry working for Walt Disney Studios and later Dolby Laboratories and have seen a lot of cinemas. This one is special and we enjoy going there.

I went to watch harry potter,the last one, at the midnight premier with my brother. Everything was going well until the most epic scene of the movie was about to happen and then the movie gets cut off and not just our room but every room that was playing harry potter got cut off. More than half of the customers went to get a refund.

I live in Watsonville and am really glad to have a theater here. I always feel welcome, and have never had any complaints. I know to have cash, I guess the only negative would be they dont take credit or debit cards. Otherwise, Love it! I do not need to see a movie in a recliner! The seats are very comfy for me!

The old people that go to this movie theater saying we need to be in the to get popcorn and in the movie they make annoying comments saying that would never happen 30 and under u should go to this movie theater and 30 plus get the hell out of theyre go to the go to Santa Cruz theater

We are not from the area only been there once and To my taste I like it! Its small I thought it was cute, it looks old. Maybe because I have never been to a cinema so small, there was not a lot of people and I loved that, we were able to enjoy the movie. Down side is only CASH!

Old school movie theater with no Fandango ticket purchase available, normal sized seats, and first come gets the best seats. Bring cash because they dont accept debit/credit cards. Having said that, dont let it deter you from going there, it was still an enjoyable experience.

Not a good experience, cash only! ATM outside will charge you and when I purchased the tickets on line there was also a charge...can someone tell these people this 2016! It is worth the trip to Santa Cruz Cinema nines chairs are the best!

Do not go to this cinema on a Friday or Saturday night. The place is a riot with teens running around like feral rats ruining the movie. The three staff members working the place have no control as they are terribly under staffed .

This place was state of the art IN 1978 ! Time for an upgrade guys...seats are so old they dont even have armrests that lift....terrible ambiance....they didnt even have Hot Dogs...how do you not have Hot Dogs in stock at a theater?
