Allow me to give this one star, only for the simple reason that I like the general concept the theater has. other than that, I give it no stars. my boyfriend and I are in winchester for the weekend in celebration of our anniversary, and we decided to see a movie here. We arrived 50 minutes before the movie started, we still had crappy seating. my seat was so worn in that it sat at a downward angle, which became uncomfortable. you are supposed to write your order on paper (in the dark if you dont get there early enough), so I did so. I am a vegetarian, my stomach cannot in any way shape or form handle meat, it makes me nauseous, so I ordered a veggie burger, which was underlined, then I wrote no bacon, also underlined, and no tomato, and then at the bottom I reiterated by writing NO MEAT. my burger came very late near the end of the movie. It tasted horrible, and I didnt eat much of it. Right near the end of the movie I became nauseous, and what do you know, they fed me red meat. I ended up heaving my guts out for almost a half hour. When I requested a manager, she said she was incapable of refunding the awful burger because it happened after the fact. they are lucky I am not deathly allergic to anything that they put in it, because by their lack of caring, I could have, or anyone with allergies in the future, may not be lucky. I was displeased with r he manager not rectifying the issue, which in the end, ruined the rest of the anniversary weekend. and also, every thing is overpriced.

Went with several other couples for an evening out. The concept of being able to combine dinner and a movie is great. I didnt find anything special about the facilities though with the exception that the theatre was much cleaner than the usual. Unfortunately they didnt seem to have enough washroom facilities as there was a line-up at both mens and womens each time we passed by. Service was excellent and our server was extremely polite and helpful. The beer selection was quite good as well. The food however was not - we had chips and queso and then my husband had the Carnivore pizza and I chose the Kids Grilled Cheese sandwich with fries. The queso was good, but nothing special and very salty. The Carnivore pizza was incredibly salty -this from my husband who regularly adds salt to everything he eats. Whether it was the meat or sauce it was hard to tell. The grilled cheese was the worst Ive ever had anywhere - hard to ruin a grilled cheese. Barely had any cheese and it was as if theyd melted cheese on bread and left it until overly done and then slapped 2 slices together. It was barely warm when it arrived and again the fries were overly salty. We came home and felt as if our mouths had dried out and drank a lot of water to counter act it. Nice concept, good service but the food was a flop for us. We may go back but honestly a good old fashioned movie theatre

I was extremely disappointed with my experience today. My son and I arrived early to order food to make sure we had our food before the movie started. We wrote what we wanted on the slips and put it the rail waiting for a server to take our order. The servers came in and took the orders of the few people that were already there. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the theatre was not even half full at that time, a few more people came in and they were immediately assisted them, I had to flag down a server to take our order. During the time we were waiting to have our order taken, no one acknowledged us or even said that someone would be with us shortly. I find that completely unacceptable service. The excuse given was that our server, was assisting others in another theatre. I understand that, but at least someone could have acknowledged us, but we were ignored. She later came to take our order and I asked to speak to the manager. I spoke to the manager and she seemed like she didnt care about the my issue with service. She did give us free passes and comped my sons drink. However the check came, my sons drink was not comped and I had to have them redo my check to reflect that. I will not return to this location.

My family and I usually have a great time at the Alamo which is why we chose this theater to see Guardians of the Galaxy, vol. 2. My son who was sitting 3 seats in next to my husband, said he had to go to the bathroom, so he crossed in front of brother and sister to get to me on the end of the row. As he was asking me to take him to the bathroom (which he had to repeat because I couldnt hear him ask his father), the female manager came up to us and told me he needed to stop talking or we will have to leave. Then she abruptly turned and walked away. I took him out at that time and we went to the bathroom. I made sure to sit him in timeout in the hallway right outside the theater and waited to apologize for the interuption, when she walked past she intentionally ignored me. So...needless to say, despite the food and good service we usually receive several times throughout the year, my family of 5 will not be returning, to include the extended out of town family we usually bring with us. If you dont want children in your establishment, say so. My apologies to anyone in the 1040 showing we disrupted, including the older couple who complimented how well behaved my kids were.

while it is the best value for the money compared to other venues, it has developed issues since its opening. First and most disconcerting is the upkeep of the seating. this is where being the most popular theater in the area is killing them. the seats need to be replaced i spend half my time in a 2 hour movie pushing myself since the seats have begun to sag. now the crack upholstery isnt an issue in the winter but come summer it will on bear legs. Second is the staff, while in actuality being a waiter/waitress they in the last two movies either offered me someone elses order or screwed mine up. Lastly ive begun to bring my own writing stick since i can not find one to write down my order and occasionally had to ask for a menu since there isnt one near my sagging seat. Ive brought these issues tothe management there..I guess its time to contact the corporate offices

The Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester is the best place I can think of to go and enjoy a movie. I am consistently impressed with their staff for their service levels and great attitudes, and I have always been comfortable with their seats and overall movie presentation. Plus, their website and Facebook will announce special events, like quote-along movie showing and more. I have attended some of these, and the extras make for an even more entertaining time out. Going out to the movies used to be an ordinary affair, to me. The only difference for me was that the movie was on a big screen. But the Alamo has brought back the whole "Theater-Experience". The atmosphere, food and drink and more makes for a great evening-out, which I anticipate as I drive there, and relish for some time Ive left.
