. I agree with the other reviewers, I am a smaller woman and the seats are very small. In addition to that, I went to the Tosh twenty twelve tour in April and was sitting across the aisle from a group of men who were obviously drunk and talking loudly throughout the entire show. It was impossible to pay attention to the show with them talking and everyone around them shushing them and managements continued presence in the aisle due to their disruption. Multiple people complained and management lectured them every time and would walk away and the men would just continue. The entire show. At one point someone told them to shut up and they screamed across the aisle that they would "f@?&ing kill them." management did nothing even though they were only feet away. The only time one of them was asked to leave was when they threw a shoe at people a few rows in front of them. That person came back after a few minutes. I had such a horrible time during this show that i emailed the landmark, told them exactly what section and seats my boyfriend and I were in and related the whole experince back to them. I got no response. So I emailed again. Again no response. I called the landmark and the woman on the phone was rude and unhelpful but I managed to get a number of the PR person who had received my email and told me that they were deciding on a course of action. So I said ok and to let me know what they came up with. I havent heard another word. So now, a month after the show, I am writing this review. I never got a resolution and I paid $150 for my tickets. I wasted my money. If at all possible, I would advise you to see whatever show you want to see at another theater. I certainly will not be returning to the landmark.

My wife and I just returned from seeing Wicked at the Landmark. The show was absolutely incredible and its a good thing because otherwise it would have been a completely miserable experience. Someone had told me there were no bad seats at the Landmark so I opted to save money and buy the balcony seats.......BIG MISTAKE. I am a larger guy 60" 250lbs. so I would sometimes expect to be tight, but my wife is 54" 140lbs. and was complaining about the seats the whole time. They were very uncomfortable with absolutely no legroom. IMHO dont bother every going to the Landmark if you have to get balcony seats. The Orchestra and Grand Tier seemed to have much more ample leg room but the balcony will not be comfortable for those over 12 (or anyone over 5 for that matter)

I think this theater (and the performer) should be embarrassed for not cancelling the Macklemore show by close of business 1/21/16. The weather forecast is downright terrible and many people (including teenagers) have spent money on tickets and hotel reservations and have committed to significant travel that they can no longer undertake. VCU is closed and the governor has declared a state of emergency and the event for Saturday has been cancelled. Even if it does get cancelled tomorrow (the day of the show), I am not impressed by how the patrons are being treated.

I enjoyed the show, the theater layout, the acoustics, the performance, and the venue, all with one exception that was fairly detrimental to my overall experience: The seats, specifically on the balcony, are entirely too small. I am approximately 62", 210 pounds, and even with an aisle seat, I was unable to get comfortable. It was a constant knee-touching, arm-rest-sharing match with my seat neighbor, much like an airplane, with one main difference, these seats allow even less space. Two stars for seats, five stars for the rest.

I visited the Altria Theatre for the first time on October 22 for the Switchfoot+Relient K show. First of all, I was in complete awe everywhere I looked. This theatre is absolutely beautiful! I would come again just to admire the architecture. It is obvious that a lot of money was invested into this place. They didnt skimp on the house sound system either–d&b is a premium brand and it sounded incredible even in my far house-left seat location. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I look forward to my next visit!

The so give me this theater only three stars because despite the beautiful scenery and everything there was just no line organization or parking organization. Im sitting here probably going to be about 30 minutes trying to leave the parking lot and when I went in I saw him no one directing traffic. Hard to believe that this theater has Broadway level shows with Broadway level crowds but no one to manage crowds or traffic. If you come here probably best to park somewhere else and walk or have a friend drop you off.

The Landmark Theater is very out dated. We just came back from Wicked there. Wicked was wonderful and I would see it again. The bad/horrible part was the seats we had in the balcony. They were very narrow and no leg room. They were extremely uncomfortable. Dont bother going if you have balcony seats. We ended up going to the very top and standing until a volunteer offered us a folding chair. Another problem was the womens bathrooms. There were not enough of them.

Went to see Book of Mormon. Great show, but word to the wise, we nearly didnt get in in time for the curtain to come up. The lines to get in for both will call and regular tickets were huge. We parked at the further away parking garage and walked, since the traffic was so bad for people getting into the closer parking garage. Get there more than a half hour before the show if its popular, elsewise you might not get in on time!

Beautifully restored theater. I would have given 4 stars however the sound system for large productions totally inadequate. We went to see Book of Mormon, purchased quality seats, but found the acoustics extremely poor. It was extremely difficult to hear the major chorus songs, soloists were ok. For a play built upon creative writing we felt we missed 60% of the humor while straining to listen due to a very poor sound system.

Terrible, terrible balcony seating. I am only 5 tall and my knees were touching the seat in front of me. In addition because it is so steep, someone 4 rows in front of you can block your view of the stage. Box office hours are terrible and the tickets we got were printed wrong initially so we had to go through the hassle of going back to the box office to have them fix it so we could be let in. Not a good experience.

Beautiful theatre and the seating is about as comfy as it should be. Enough to sit for a few hours and be content. I give four stars because out of the many talks, and concerts Ive been to the sound hasnt 100% quality. Definitely good sound system for four stars. But I would except the audio team to be at the same level of quality as the rest of the organization. Great place, but not perfection ;)

Been there twice. Traveled all the way from the DC area. Incredible architecture, nice service at bars, small intimate venue, good acoustics. My wife and I didnt notice the seat width issue. But the seats are from an earlier time when fewer Americans were super-sized. Maybe the venue should remove some seats to make space and put in premium priced XL seats.
