My wife and I go to Roadhouse Cinemas In Scottsdale a couple of times a month. Usually, from the greetings at the front door, to the bar then to the movie theater is always great. People are friendly and funny. We order food, which is much better than most movie theaters we go to and really enjoy the experience. Unfortunately, last night (February 28th for the movie Go Out) was a completely different story. We got there about 30 minutes before projection started. As usual, we went to the bar to order drinks and food. We stayed at the bar for 7 minutes... no one asked us what we wanted. I even joked with the bartender asking if we still could get Happy Hour specials, since it was 6:02... He just stared and bluntly said no... we sat for a few minutes more, hoping we could order something as the 2 bartenders seemed more preoccupied by cleaning glasses and placing them, than taking our order... We decided to take our seats and order from the theater. The server was sitting on the edge of a seat. and stared at the various customers without moving, which is not usually the case... We called him up and placed our order. Beers, burger and salad were great as usual. Right before the movie started, my wife asked for 2 glasses of water to one of the attendant... we never got it....About 30 minutes into the movie, she called in the server again to ask if we could get them...he said he was taking care of it... still nothing happened... after another 20 minutes, she called him back again... he said he would be right back with them....and 30 minutes later, still nothing. She finally decided to get up during the movie to get those 2 drinks. She went to the beverage stand, and came back with both glasses of water. Perhaps it was new staff... but for the 1st time at Roadhouse cinemas, we were tremendously disappointed by the quality of the service... Please take care of this if you dont want to loose our business!!

The seating was spacious and comfortable. The theater appeared to be clean. The temp of the room (too warm) and the food (not hot) were less than desirable. The food was decent...but it would have been good had it been served from the kitchen promptly. The sound system must not be something they check and adjust between viewings - it was so loud during the previews that we were almost shouting to be heard. Perhaps with a full theater filled with bodies, full volume is needed, but when the show you are viewing during a mid afternoon matinee that only has apx 15 - 20% of the seats filled, not so much. Our ears continued to ring for almost an hour after leaving. Earplugs might be advisable in the future. One other thing Roadhouse advertises is their level of service, including a last call 30 minutes before the end of the movie and your check delivered for all food items purchased. We had to ring for our server as the credits were rolling for the return of our credit card and the sales slip. All in all, we enjoyed our movie and will give the other location a try. It is a great alternative to the traditional movie experience that comes with overcrowded seating, bumps and jolts to the back of your chair and juggling over priced food and beverages while trying to find the correct room, open the doors and slide past others to settle into your seat.

First, we had trouble locating the theater as it isnt anywhere close a main street. Then after parking, the entrance wasnt marked well either. When purchasing tickets, the gentleman was helpful and gave us directions to our theater. On our way to our theater, the hallway floor was a complete mess. We arrived 15 minutes earlier than the 30 minutes their website suggested so we could get into our reserved seats and review the menu. But we were not allowed into the theater until 10 minutes before the show. Apparently the group ahead of us made a huge mess, the cleaning staff seemed to take their time. Noticeably, when several staff exited and re-entered the theater empty handed, it didnt seem productive. The servers were very prompt and courteous when taking our order and delivering the food. But when the movie started, I noticed the screen had blotches on it. The blotches werent from the movie itself, it was on the screen. Then the films sound seemed to be leaning more to the right than center and was excessively loud. The movie was entertaining, but from this horrible experience, until I see some more positive Google reviews, we wont be coming back.

Loved it! Loved the atmosphere. Doesnt feel like a corporate box movie theater like AMC or Harkins. Is decorated really unique and has a great ambience. The reclining leather seats were large, comfy and perfect for enjoying a movie with a ton of leg room for people to walk by if they needed to. I arrived to the movie early and pushed the call button on the side of my reclining chair and within minutes a waiter was there to take my order. They have a large menu with appetizers, main entrees, deserts, consession stand treats, sodas, Italian sodas, Arizona brewed beers, wines and even mixed drinks. I found the pricing to be reasonable and the food was actually pretty good! Popcorn and sodas are unlimited free refills so when I was ready for more I just had to push the call button and a waiter came up to my seat, even during the movie! Incredible service! I had a great experience and will definitely be back again! Im surprised this place wasnt packed being a Friday night. I would definitely choose Roadhouse Cinema over the chain movie theater and make the 30 minute drive to it. Very worth it!!

Update: So after some time this has become my favorite cinema/grill to go to. They finally got most of the kinks worked out and are constantly improving. Go for a movie, try the stuffed quesadilla (my favorite) with an IPA. The prices seem to be the best that I have seen in Phoenix. Is it perfect yet? Not so much, be sure to look at your seating. They have wheelchair access accomodations (areas to park your wheelchair and still be able to call for service, but not actual seats) which are awesome, but I saw a family buy tickets and ended up with 2 seat, 2 wheelchair access points. They made it work but werent to happy with the arrangements. Just be aware of what you are selecting when ordering seats. If you are into the cinema/dining experience this place is alright. The staff was a little slow on the response (I am usually not one to complain) and we had to track down the folks after the movie was over to pay off our bill. The facilities were very clean and the people were friendly, but everything seems to be a bit lackadaisical.

I know its opening week but never have I been so disappointed in staff member and the inability to communicate and work as a team. We understand that it was a busy crowd tonight but it doesnt give them the okay to be rude to customers. We waited 2 hours and 30 minutes for 5 meals when they estimated wait time was 1 hour. When the time came to receive our meals they brought out only 4 because they ran out of an item. All they said was sorry but your server was supposed to tell you so you could order something else. I ask for a manager and the manager just said they probably just ran out recently. What the heck is that supposed to mean Im SOL? By far the worst experience I have encountered at such an establishment. Wont be receiving my service anymore.
