Ok, so this is like the third time I’ve edited this review. First update: I’ve finally gone back to the theater (was back in the area by coincidence) and was finally able to speak with someone (a manager by the name of Alex) about a very negative viewing experience on Christmas Day. Long story short: Their company is systematically placing their occupants in conflict with one another by not accurately depicting the location of their “IMAX” screens in relation to the theater seats during the ticket purchasing/ seat reservation process (that they claim to be a “premium service”). (i.e. their theatre layouts are inaccurate to the detriment of their patrons). I was assured at the time and have since been confirmed by the manager that this is a “very valid complaint”, “photographs [have been] taken”, and the problem has been escalated to higher management/ corporate for correction. They offered me free ticket vouchers and I declined because my experience was far more damaging than can be resolved by ticket vouchers. Instead, I simply made him promise that he was going to get the problem fixed. I could talk about how sh*tty society is in general, that this is even a problem, and that this had to be resolved in this way, but I’ll “leave that for another day”, or if you’ve read this review prior to this edit, you already know exactly what happened. Apart from the very negative “guest” experience (which far and away, alone, ruined the entire guest experience for me), the movie screens for what they claim to be “IMAX” are far smaller than what a regular IMAX screen is, the sound became (WAY) too loud during portions of the movie and made my eardrums hurt, yada, yada, yada. Maybe you should all just think twice about being d*cks when you go out in public and deal with fellow citizens; because you never know, it might just be the movie theater (or company’s) fault… or maybe you just don’t care. :) In which case, GOOD FOR YOU! (BIG THUMBS UP) ;D I’m honestly sick of having to deal with society and getting people to act cordially in public… let alone multi-million dollar corporations… Not really enjoying the prospect of going back here, uncivilized patrons, sub-par viewing experience; it’s just really hard to see a reason to go back here. I might go back to make sure the problem is fixed, but even then; I don’t know why this is my battle in the first place. Shouldn’t it be easy (and a pretty high priority) for a movie theater offering “premium” seat reservations to make sure their symmetrical theaters are depicted symmetrically on their website? Honestly, I’m really done with this. Society can go screw itself, and so can this theater. And as for trying to “skip” dealing with the local theater’s customer service and dealing with corporate directly: Good Luck. The only way to “contact” them is via a tiny comment box on their website. They say they’ll “Get back to you shortly.” and lo-and-behold, more than 5 months later and I am yet to receive a call or e-mail. :D Really good “example” they’re setting at that corporate office! (If I could’ve, originally, I would’ve given the company/establishment zero stars. I’ll tack back on a star for a cordial, nice experience with the manager, which takes us back up to one star, and I’ll think about adding another star (or stars) later on if I go back and see that the problem is fixed. I would say “Don’t hold your breath”, but I think this might just be my curse and fate.)

This theater is indeed the best theater in the Charlotte Metro. Best sound, Best seats, best movie quality. The popcorn is good and they are usually fully stocked with concessions and most areas are clean. I have 3 main problems with this theater and they are big problems as far as Im concerned. and this is a management issue 1. They never have enough ticket takers. In general, every person that works here is super slow, no one works like they have a purpose, they all just lolligag back and forth. combine that with having to ask everyone about updating/buying/renewing stubbs and it can make for some long unnecessary lines. 2. The Ticket machines hardly ever work. if you order tickets online, you still have to wait in the slow lines most of the time because the self service ticket machines are almost always broken. 3. To piggyback on my first complaint....the concessions are super slow. there are times where they will have 3 people working up one order and its still slow. thats one person getting popcorn, a different person getting drinks and the third ringing you up and it still can be a 5-10 minute situation when the whole thing should take 2 minutes tops. and dont let it be a crowded night. be prepared to spend 20-30 minutes waiting in line. Again, this is my favorite theater in the Charlotte Metro....the condition of the theater and the quality of the movie shown beats every other theater in the area but as far as the service...its the second to lowest in the area (AMC Carolina Pavilion 22 is the lowest)

Alex at AMC is unprofessional and rude. I feel as if he may have been a raciest being that he called mall security on me before assisting me with my issue. I recently left a shopping bag with brand new clothes in one of the theaters a couple of days ago. I reached out to AMC several times and was told to See Brian (General Manager) about watching the footage from that night. When I arrived I was told that Brian was not in so Alex came out to assist me (but little did I know he wasnt going to be of any assistance at all). He was already debriefed prior to my arrival and treated me extremely nasty. He was extremely dismissive and told me that people leave items all the time and theres nothing he can do. I Asked him for corporates number and he gave me the card and said "good look with getting anywhere with that". I told him he was being rude by making comments like that and he told me that I needed to leave. When I explained to him that i needed to know how to proceed with the matter he called mall security being that I was continuing to talk. Ive never been so embarrassed in my life to be escorted out of an establishment that I frequent several times a month. At this point, Im not even upset about the material items I lost, Im upset about how I was treated. Never will I recommend AMC NORTHLAKE to anyone.

Went to a 2:30 pm showing and this theater was so dirty. The floors in front of concessions was full of popcorn and soda area was very wet and sticky with no warning signs out. The hallways leading to the theaters were also nasty. This all shocked me as I only go to AMC theaters and they are usually clean; this was my first time at this one and probably last. The staff was not pleasant; I was in the Stubs premier line but that did not matter here as they overlooked me. Finally at the counter and got 2 items that should have been $17 but was told it was $25, asked why and was told to look at the prices on the board, again I asked why so much and she rudely said "Maam your nachos is abt $14 and that candy is $4" then stopped to look at me. Again I asked why $25, then she discovered she added a small popcorn in error. No apology, NOTHING!

Wow! I cannot believe I paid $16 plus dollars for 2 old-hardened buns with a cold undercooked hotdog and a coke. I tried talking to someone about it, but there was not anyone that I could complain to. Aside from the terrible food we got, the place was dirty dirty dirty!!! Seriously, even the napkins had dry-hardened ketchup or salsa on them, GROSS!!!!! Next time (if there is even a next time) I will buy myself hotdogs from Sams and walk right in there, hopefully someone has the guts to stop me... then Ill let them hear me out!!!!!! Ugh!
