Sounds like these guys woes are well-known here and on Yelp, so Im glad Im not the only bearer of bad news. Long story short, this course just isnt worth the effort. Fun course, which I would usually say equates to me not caring if the staff sucks or not but honestly, they are so rude, inconsiderate and deranged that it makes the course not fun to play at all. I bought a patron card without second thought last summer because this is one of the closer courses to my house. I golfed there 16 times over the summer and only once - yes ONCE - did I not have any issues with how I was treated. Every other time I regretted buying the patron card but felt like I had to return to get my moneys worth. Some things were just small things that left you scratching your head and wondering how you can run a business this way. Other things had lasting impact on me that I tell every golf fan I know of so they avoid this place. Which is why Im writing this review. This course is fun, so if you can sneak on and play it without having to deal with anybody in the clubhouse, then go for it! Otherwise there are so many better options around the Twin Cites. You know, courses that actually like having golfers play their course.

OMG there is a ranger at this course that thinks he is working Augusta. First off, there was a fivesome ahead of our threesome that got PRIOR approval....that we NEVER even saw one time. This ranger came by and told us about this fivesome and that he made them split up and said that he thinks they wont split up...and if we end up waiting on them....to let him know about it. Well, sure enough they DID split up and two of them waited for the other three to play the hole out so they could split. THAT backed upt the ENTIRE COURSE. They were previously playing best ball. My two partners left after nine so I paired up with the two that broke from the fivesome. A father and 10 year old son. Once in a while the dad would let the kid drive the cart....this ranger comes barrelling out behind the trees and says whoa! whoa! Dont let him drive the cart...hes way to young. OMG. He said how he was NEVER coming back after his experience at this course. First the fivesome and then cant let the kid drive once in a while....yet the kid is charged half a cart and green fees. This course is a public funded course....whose budget is in the red. HEY RANGER RICK....you WANT people to come back....idiot.

Overall course rating (Layout, difficulty, condition, etc) - 7/10 Overall experience - 1/10 Pros - Championship level course, close proximity to cities, good practice facility. Cons - The Ranger, greens fees, tee times are booked way too close to one another. Notes: Great course here at Inver Wood, but its all ruined by their prices, booking tee times too close to one another and THE RANGER! My brother and I drove out to play this course because we saw their twilight starts at 5pm. The price was a little steep still at $41 riding, but we got a tee time right at 5 to get the 18 holes in. We were told in the club house that carts needed to be returned by 9pm at the latest (as it is listed on the website). We are on hole 13 at 730pm when the ranger comes cruising in telling us we needed to head in because carts were needed back at 830pm. I informed him the club house told us 9pm and he then explained back "Well Im telling you 830pm, now skip over to 16 and play out. You will be lucky to get that" Not a good experience here even with the great course. The ranger at this course is ruining new customer interest. I WILL NOT be coming back.

I had heard from family members a few stories of the service from the staff at Inverwood being sub-par such as: 1. Employees came out the 15th hole to take the cart from my uncle and a buddy because they were closing up early so they had to carry their bags and a cooler the rest of the round (no partial cart refund) 2. Closing the bar at 7:00 p.m. on a sunny day with a group of thirsty patrons. But last Sunday the course was almost empty and they told us that they would not allow a fifth, a walker, to play along with us. I understand that 5 in a group, expecially with a walker, is too many if the course is busy, but at 7:00 on a Sunday night, we saw one other golfer. We were then told by the that the maintence crew had complained about our five-some. I really like the layout of the course and how well maintained it is but I honestly cant say Ive been impressed by the staff.

Upon arrival we were greeted by an extremely rude ranger; he was unhelpful, unforgiving of any questions, and again, extremely rude (boarder line vulgar). The day was set to a negative tone right away due to him. He rushed us through our first several holes; I felt so rushed on our opening drive (by his continual comments) that I picked my ball and tee up and simply played the last players drive. Seriously. He continued to hound and "check up" on us throughout, several times commenting how we were causing a bottle-neck, although every time he commented the forward party was clearly visible on the hole and we were obviously unable to play. Terrible experience. Will not be returning, and neither will my company. At least I found out about it before I sent more people that way...

A wonderfully designed, rolling hill course, in a rural setting, that is very well maintained. The greens are challenging but fair. They putt well although the speed could be increased a little. The fairways are nicely striped and framed with strategically placed sand traps and water hazards. The full length practice range is just a few yards from the clubhouse and features grass and quality mat teeing areas. The grass on the tee area was a little too long the day I played. I didnt notice a practice sand trap however. This is a course I could happily play every day. I strongly recommend it!

I read the reviews and prepared for the worst. I brought my own water and snacks, expecting to never see a cart girl. Well, the course is stunning with its elevated tees. I saw the cart girl (Cindy is very customer oriented and friendly) and confessed that I never thought I would see her do to the negative reviews. She explained her hours are from 9-6, so dont expect early/late visits. I golfed after 4pm on Friday and was not waiting nor being pushed. I give it 4.5 stars because it would be nice to have updated carts (a cooler, GPS). It is a fabulous course during the evenings on weekdays.

We really enjoy this course because it is beautiful and very tough. It is very hilly with tree lined fairways and some water. Many fairways are sloped to the sides making shot placement critical. The greens are in great condition. The new course renovations completed last summer (2016) and fall need more time this growing season to mature so you cant see the remnants of construction. The sprinkling system upgrades should keep the course in great condition no matter how much rainfall we receive. The staff is very nice as well and the beer is ice cold.
