this is a disclaimer to any anybody that is not of the Caucasian ethnicity that is planning to stay at Massanutten Four Season Resort …. On 1/20/17 my family and I checked in to the resort for which was supposed to be for a weeklong stay. After a long two work week preparing for the inaugural and a drill weekend in between with my unit I thought it would be a good idea to take some well-deserved time off. Even though it was against my better judgment to stay at Massanutten again, due to the fact my last stay here in 10/13/14 was cut short due to a bed bug encounter. (However I took that as a 1 time isolated situation). Unfortunately this trip was also cut short because of poor customer services, in which I strongly believe was because of the color of my skin. While there, my family and I decided to order a meal from the restaurant which is in the same building as the water park. While placing our food order the young lady also ask what would we like a drink. My wife order a Mai Tai. My brother in-law ordered a beer, and I asked for a glass of water and a shot. The server then asked if the shot was for me and I replied yes. She began to repeatedly ask if the shot was for me, as if she did not believe it was. The drinks were then brought out by her manager who proceeds to slam my shot of alcohol down in front of me. After a sizeable amount of liquid splashes out she says she has to watch me drink it. I asked why and she responds to that it’s the policy of the restaurant. Now at this point I am feeling uncomfortable by this harassment. I began to Google the resorts’ bylaws, policies and procedures and the state of Virginia laws to see if her statement was true. Fifteen minutes or so go by and I can’t find any truth to the statements of the server nor the manager. I ask the manager if I could speak to her superior. She then snatches my drink off of the table only to spill some more of it. She returns five minutes later to tell me she is unable to speak with me at the time but she will come back with the individual’s name and number ( she never did). The server then places my meal ( which was not what I ordered ) and my drink in front of me and says I can now have the remainder of my drink. I refused the meal and drink due to the way I was treated in this situation. I asked for the bill and in her frustration she replies, “ I’m done with you people” and walks away. She returns with the bill and another male server, tosses the bill on the table and walks away again. I try to ask her if I was able to get a military discount. She never answered however the male server does by asking for my ID. I hands it to him he looks at it and says no the restaurant does not give military discounts. Thinking it was strange for him to ask for my ID and then say that the restaurant does not give military discount. I asked him why would he ask me for my ID if he knew the restaurant did not honor military discounts. He looks at me and then says that he was taking over as our server. While squeezing my shoulder and aggressively tapping me on the back of my head he says, I’m here to make sure everything goes smooth with the staff and You People. At this point my shoulder is in pain and I’m feeling threated. My brother in law who notices my discomfort, pays the bill and we leave and go to the front office to ask for medical attention for my shoulder and call the police. This place was awesome. There is an outside swinging assess, but it was closed when we went because it was March I assume. The staff, mostly kids or young adults, is very nice, and they are everywhere making sure you and your family are safe. There is a bar and arcade fruit those who dont like swimming. The hot springs tub was not hot at all. Luke warm at best. The reason for the four star is that there is a lot of maintenance needed. At last in my eyes. Quite a few steps up to the awesome five tall slides, are wobbly. It doesnt bother me, but my youngest who is afraid of heights got quite freak out because of it. I imagine she might not be the only one. There was a lot of chipped paint everywhere. It just looks like they could go through and touch up the place and tighten some boards. Nevertheless, the place is safe. Its is not falling apart and you can go to the bar and play bingo, eat, and or have drinks while your mutts have a great time. I would love to go back. It is a bit pricy, but a water park in the winter is great. Not only that, it is right next to the Shenandoah National Park, which is a must see, and really close to Hanks bar and grill, which we found to be a great place to eat and has a great rating on google. It has a better rating than the resort grills. If you or your family likes water parks, this is a craft place to go. We are from the Akron Ohio area and stopped in Massanutten on or way back from Washington DC

This deserves 0 stars . I came to massanutten with my family and we decided to go see the water park as soon as we got there, since we discovered theres already nothing else to do here . We looked up the prices and they are UTTERLY RIDICULOUS!, 38 dollars per person for an all day pass that means , we would have to pay 114 dollars for just ONE stay , and say if we wanted to go more then one day smh , the water park that they display should be free , theres nothing there that should make it worth that much money, most people were just sitting on tubes and jumping up and down in the pool because there were so many people and not much to do , most people were sitting In chairs . If you paid this much money to go in this water park you are literally stupid and wasting your money . Even if we did wanted to anything else everything was closed when we arrived but didnt say it in the website . Addition to that every time we would go to the pool , it was always packed with people , considering theres only two indoor pools. The only thing , We were able to do here was go to restaurants and walk through a so called garden/park , which basically was a bunch of woods . As a junior in high school, this was not fun and at all and very dull and boring , If anybody is planning to come here , please save your money. This is our only and last stay !
