I went to this theater while it was still Carmike back in 2014. The IMAX experience then was incredible. After realizing that it was taken by AMC, I was hesitant to get my Dunkirk tickets here last month. However, the quality has certainly not declined. The IMAX theater had the same features that I loved so much about it the last time I went to the theater: terrific sound, a beautiful large screen, very comfortable/clean seats, and a well-air-conditioned environment. No humidity, no incompetent A/C, no nasty smells, no dirty seats, no rude custodians, no sewage-ridden bathrooms. So I have been to this theater now a total of three times, and am baffled still by how awful the reviews this theater gets. I have never never never experienced anything less than a incredible experience here, and I am very picky about the cinematic experience. Ask my wife or friends, I choose Blu-ray and THX sound system every time! Sure the lines may be long for concessions, and maybe the soda fountains arent the best, but you go to a theater to watch a movie, not buy food!

We attended a Saturday showing on the IMAX screen. The projection was clear and bright, the sound excellent. All-in-all, a great experience.......until we went to the bathroom . Prior to the 7:00 PM screening, both the mens and womens restroom had no paper towels. In addition, the floor in the mens room was wet in many places, and not with water. After the show, we found the restrooms in the same condition. We asked to see a manager, and brought this to her attention. She apologized, but let us know that they were out of paper towels, and would not have any before Monday. Even with the senior discount, two tickets were $30 - not the conditions wed expect at these prices.

Absolutely awful! They have changed everything! When this was a Carmike Cinema, it was so much better!! The ONLY reason we go to this location is for Chicago style popcorn...and AMC doesnt carry it. You also have to contend with getting your own drinks. The drinks we got today were flat! None of the concession people would help fix the CO2. We spent at least 30 minutes watching ad after ad and trailer after trailer, and when the movie finally did start, people in front of us stayed on their phones the entire time! I will not go back to this location, and I will recommend that no one go here. Clearly, they are just a big corporate business that do not care about guest service.

. . . The last movie that I saw at this theater was "I Am Legend" in 2007; twice in the same weekend. Although its clearly been a minute since Ive watched/been to the movies at this location, I can remember my overall experience. Yes, as some of the other posters have stated, the concessions line/time was very long. Unnecessarily long. There seemed to be alot of (pointless) "standing in line" and to get a popcorn and drink seemed to take much longer than it should have. However, I do remember clean restrooms, comfortable seats and average etiquette from other patrons while watching the movie. I see myself going back . . . someday.

Spent over 90$ to take my kids to the movies, large popcorn says free refill when you sign up for their reward program. After you sign up and you decide to get your refill they tell you it takes 24 hours for your account to be activated but yet you can pull your account up with no problems. There is no info stating that you must wait 24 hours. The theater we were in had a few plastic bags on the seats and smelt like pee and poop.I will never take my kids here. Its to expensive, not comfortable with the smell and false advertising. Go to tyler square cinema, its way cheaper and has more of a comfortable environment.

its a good theater, yes the ticket prices are high but the employees have no control over that yes the concession is high only because all of that money spent on tickets actually doesnt even go to the theater it all goes to the people that made that movie so all of the theaters money mainly comes from the concession, are the lines slows especially in the day during the week since there are only a total of five people that can work during the weekdays because they arent highschoolers which is what most of the staff is made up of alot of the complaints im seeing are pointless 1st world problems quit complaining

Let me get this straight. The slowest part of the whole process is getting your snacks and drinks at the concession. So, you make that process even slower by selling movie tickets along with candy, popcorn and drinks. Not too mention that the staff has to walk from one end of the concession area to the other depending upon what the customer has ordered. It took 17 minutes to get a coke and some popcorn which meant we just barely got seated before the movie trailers started. Sell tickets at the ticket counter and snacks at the snack counter. Stop making things worse.

Will NOT be going back. Had to leave the movie twice because the screen wasnt aligned correctly and was cutting off the top of the picture and then the lights were still on while the movie was playing. The exit door at the front of the theater had a huge gap at the bottom and the bright sunlight coming through was extremely distracting and annoying. The toilets in the womens restroom wouldnt flush (none of them.) The popcorn was stale. This is the most expensive theater in Tyler and the worst! Do yourself and favor and go to Times Square Cinema or Studio Movie Grill.

Some of these reviews are silly, and I feel that I have to give Carmike 14 some justice. Carmike has good theatres, comfortable seating, and above average popcorn. It really is a great place to take the family, if you have excess money to spend. Carmike charges too much for their tickets and popcorn, but is still one of the better places for a date night here in Tyler, Texas. I feel that if Carmike dropped their prices, they would see many more frequent faces coming through those front doors. Sorry Carmike, but Times Square Cinema is beating "yall" at the moment.

They completely disregarded my complaint about 13 year old girls sneaking in the purge. The girls ranted off saying they wanted to fight my husband and I because, we had asked them to quit talking during the movie. I will never go back its better off to go to Broadway Downtowns movie theater; again its not ghetto like this is. There were policemans at Carmike 14 who didnt their job by escorting the teens. That is a red flag someone couldve been seriously injured and the prosecuted wouldve been us since they were underage. Never again do I desire to go back! Ever!

I took my family to see a PG-13 movie (Mocking Jay part 2). We sat through 30 minutes of previews, including a (very) long R rated preview that was absolutely inappropriate for my children. To their credit, the manager on duty apologized, the general manager apologized and said he would pull the preview. But the corporate director of marketing (in GA) determines the quantity and selection of the preview playlist, and the local theater is not free to make local decisions. Times Square Cinema is an overall much better choice for me and my family.
