I would like to voice the disappointment I experienced on Friday, November 15 at the 11:30am showing of "The Best Man Holiday" at this theatre. The manager, Ms. Shelton was not on the floor (I was told she was in her office on the 2nd floor) supervising the long lines of African American (AA) patrons supporting Malcolm Lees movie. I typically will attend all opening day movies since I claim to be a movie buff to my friends. I have never seen this blatant discrimination against one group of people before in the Houston area. This theatre has a high hispanic/latin/AA population. Any other opening day will have two booths open with 1 - 2 persons per booth. On this occasion, there was one AA person selling tickets at the concession stand for a line of people I estimated to be 25-45 people long. Some individuals were encourage by one of the workers to purchase their tickets via credit card using the kiosk, however that did not help. They still had to get back in line to process their ticket by the one AA cashier at the concession stand. I would hate if patrons began going to another theatre one of which is projected to open soon on East Sam Houston Parkway North off highway 90. I hope things change before the Tyler Perrys A Madea Christmas opens on December 13, 2013.

my most recent visit was to see "The Perfect Guy"..(awesome btw) my experience was horrible though...these ghetto ass Mexican ladies wouldnt stop talking behind us and this ghetto ass black lady was acting like the girl in "Scary Movie" (remember when all the people killed her ass because she was interrupting the movie, well this was her in the flesh)...I went to get help and two people came in and stood there for 2minutes and left, I even called after that and still nothing...an elderly gentlemen even went to complain and the same people came in and left...now idk if these people saw them and just shut up until they left (which is rather childish because they were grown AF)...either way we all suffered throughout the whole movie. Im giving three stars because after I spoke with the manager she was very apologetic and accommodating...she gave us two all access passes for another day...she clearly understands customer service...we went to a matinee to avoid the bs, but UGGGGHHHHHH...some people dont have any damn manners. I grew up going to this theatre so Ill continue to support, we just need to have a better conversation with the staff and check these other rude ass customers....

I went to watch "The Visit" and actually couldnt see, hear or enjoy the movie. When my date and I was entering the movie theatre we went to the last show that started at 10pm on purpose so we would avoid young movie goers. Most theatres dont allow kids in under17 after 10pm with out their parents. The guy checking the tickets told the teenagers no entrance after 10 without adult supervision but the manager allowed them in. My luck all those untammed animals followed us to our movie. Inside we had to listen to a baby crying and loud kids. I will not return until they get a policy that will keep out unsupervised teenages and crying babies. We complained and instead of giving us money back we got free movie tickets. Yeah, right like Im going to return there again. Plus the consession workers was not to friendly. They were slow, never smiled and I viewed them as hating their job. The consession stand was filty. I would help if they took a towel and passed it over their counters.

Its ok because its the only nearby theatre. If you are an adult and do not like teenagers, stay away Fridays and Saturdays, as parents have no where else to dump their kids off, since we have no malls, no dave & busters, no bowling alleys, or anywhere else to go around here. Also the curfew is selectively enforced. If you do get bothered by loud patrons,( teens, adults or babies,)since it seems like nearly everyone on the East side was raised with zero manners, the managers will happily give you free passes to come back. We almost always complain since there is almost always a problem. Also dont expect any outstanding customer service from the ticket sellers, ticket takers, ushers or concession workers. None of them know how to talk to others face to face, or seen particularly happy about their line of work. Cleanliness is ok right now, because it was recently remodeled. Give it time. It will be disgusting (again)soon enough.

The movies are ok but just now as we wait with my 2 little girls for the movie to start we got tokens to play and first the coin machine gave me 1cent for a dollar i put in to change then the 2nd bad thing is i put 4 tokens in one game machine and it takes it and nothing happens i didnt say anything then my husband puts 4 more in another machine and it does the same then the cashier ask for a manager i believe and they called my husband back just to tell him is play at your own risk wich i think they should fix the games or turn them off. Not fair that we bring the kids here and we cant enjoy the time playing games with them because of the bad games. WE are not asking for a free game just what what we paid for. Looking for another theater next time!!!

Been here a lot over the years, and I can honestly say they have made major improvements. I actually enjoy coming here with my family now, instead of having to go really far to see a movie. The theatres are usually pretty clean, the restrooms can be an issue at times; it does get busy at times with the concession stands, but they move the lines fast and once inside seating is good. Noise used to be a concern, but once the movie starts its all good. The prices are simular to other theatres around town. Teenagers hang out, but they are monitored, and nothing gets out of hand, HPD and Jacinto City PD makes their presence known.

I can say that Fridays is not the best night to go with your adult spouse or bf/gf lmao. Theres nothing, but teens and on Saturdays too. When a new movie is out prepare to get bothered by all of the noise, talking, laughing and esp during the sexual parts, bc they get stupid. Also, as Ive been there, ppl have said things to each other in the theater bc of the kicking against the seat in front of them lmao, like damn someone gonna get beat up!!! I mean I go there to watch the movie and mind my own, if you can do it, cool if you cant control it dont go!!!

Dont trust the showtimes on special events!!! They do not coordinate! Fifth Element played May 14th and 17th as a fathom event and Cinemark played the movie at completely different times than advertised! Fathom announced 2pm and 7pm for both days. My husband and I show up for the 7pm to find Cinemark played the movie at 1020 am and 145 pm not even close!!!!! The response from the guy is that he doesnt know why they (fathom) did that. Uh no you did it!

Ever since their recent renovation it is one of the nicer of movie theatres and probably the most comfortable. You get plenty of leg room and overall room quality changed quite a bit for the better. Only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is lack of a good game room. The only reason I still go to specific Showbizs occasionally is for food, bowling, bar and movie all under the same room. Other than that, overall movie experience is significantly better!
