If I could give this park less than a one, I would. The staff was SO rude & unhelpful. Got in line for a tube ride from the lazy river & went past 2 lifeguards before reaching the part where you actually get on the ride (which wasnt a quick wait) and the lifeguard says sorry only double tubes which didnt make any sense anyway because it was the same as the other rides. Had to turn around and go through the crowd which was not an easy task considering people were in line and the line is a small opening with water wide enough for a tube. Later that day watched 3 girls also do the same thing we did & no lifeguards said anything to them. There were no big letters stating that this ride is only double tubes. There are really 2 types of rides. Slides & a tube ride. All of the slides are the exact same & theres only 2 tube rides. The pirate one is such a joke. Theres one "cave thing" you go under and then its one or two small drops & thats that. The floor almost everywhere was extremely slippery and I slipped several times. The indoor park is also a disappointment. While the waves in the lazy river were big, the two slides in there were a joke. Both the same as eachother. The only fun thing there is the rapids part in the outside lazy ricer. The "lazy river" is not a river you can relax in. If you want to stay on it the whole time you are constantly having to get in in the tube. If you enjoy sitting in a tube the whole time, then this might be enjoyable. The ride Storm Chaser broke twice & was not a fast wait in anyway. We had bought our tickets ahead of time and did not get the cup that was included. The employees were not friendly about this when we asked. It was clearly stated on the ticket we had the cup deal. They were also quite lazy. The fountain station with sodas was iceless. We watched a worker go and get some in her cup, without ice, knowing that it was out and then went back to standing. When we told her there was no ice she acted like she had no idea and called someone over. Then a short guy who weighed MAYBE 140 came with the biggest container of ice ive ever seen. I watched about 2 minutes as this employee struggled to get the ice over. There were at least 4 or her employees in the food area & none of them offered help. One of us went and helped him, having to get the ice in ourselves. Overall this experience was AWFUL & we decided to only go an hour for our second day and regretted having bought 2 day tickets. We only did this because we payed 70 I believe a person each day. All in all this schlitterbahn is the WORST & I will not be back. Ever. Ive been to the Galveston one & the New Braunsfels and recommend both. The New Braunsfels one is amazing! Do not waste your money on this park! You will regret it.

The waterpark is nice, but its not as large as Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. On the weekends it is insanely busy, and dont look to the staff to help you get a tube. The majority of patrons "claim" the child tubes and will not relinquish them, they even keep them at their table. This makes it difficult to get a tube for everyone else but the staff did not help at all - even tho there are signs posted saying the tubes are meant to remain in the river. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels enforces this rule so it was a shame that the South Padre park refused to enforce it. I spoke with a supervisor and was told they "dont like to be rude" in asking the tubes stay in the river....apparently its rude to enforce the rules? I am a big Schlitterbahn fan, I love New Braunfels and Galveston, but I was not impressed with this park or the resort. I would not recommend going on the weekends because it was packed, but Monday and Tuesday were absolutely dead. We had no trouble with tubes and were able to ride all the rides.

Their customer service is very poor. We were kicked out from a covered seating area that did not have any label that its for rent or has been reserved, and this happened to other customers as well. Someone did not do his job or the systems lack thereof, of labeling reserved seating areas, and the staff were rude and insensitive in asking you to pack up and leave. Had we not demanded our right to a high standard of customer service, our vacation would have been totally ruined. Thanks to Sergio Lopez for listening to our grievances, for being apologetic, and for realizing later on that we were there to enjoy our vacation. The manager, Ric Legre, was not helpful and was rude not only to us but also to Sergio and to other customers as well. I hope Schlitterbahn SPI will train their managers and staff to be courteous, friendly, and respectful. Putting labels on rented seating areas would also prevent customers from being asked to pack up and leave.

To begin with, the hotel smells stale and old as soon as you step foot in the lobby. I was ok with it smelling stale and old as I understood it a water park. My room was full of roaches crawling up the wall, and one of my colleagues bed had bed bugs. He got bit 5 times. Room services is not that great either. You ask for somehting in specific and they bring up something totally different than what you originally requested. Parking is also limited. At check out time, they told me everything was ok and I was set to go. The next day, I checked my credit card statement that I had given them, and they charged me an extra night. I am still waiting for the refund.

Didnt do waterpark but we visited the parks restaurant, Shrimp Haus. The lights had gone out on half the isle, so my grp called & asked if they cld accommodate a grp of 45-60 people. They made accommodations for us during brunch hrs. The menu had a good variety of dishes to choose from. The food was good & The portions were plenteous. The mgr & staff were very courteous, helpful & attentive even after showing up with my lg boisterous grp. The orders were slow arriving but the food was good & hot; worth the wait. We had a great time. All hats off to Shrimp Haus. I pray choice blessings for them individually & that they hv a most prosperous yr. Thx to u all.
