I will start by saying we booked this "resort" for 8-days!!! Not just a weekend trip, so we expected a great experience. This is a "5-Star" rated resort that says they have seven pools with special designations as family, relaxing and/or active, nicely appointed rooms and so on, but we found none of this to be the case. My wife and I were going to Vegas for a combined special occasion of anniversary/birthday and had specified this upon making our reservations. We even had a special letter that was left for us upon check-in from the hotel manager, so they were very well aware of our specific requests for a nice room. First Id like to address one of the worst things to happen right from the start. We were placed in a room next to people constantly partying with extremely loud music that we got woken up at 3:00 am the first night. Security was called by another room and it was stopped eventually. But the second day this started up all over again in the afternoon, stopped for a brief period, then started again early evening as they were getting ready to go out for the evening. We knew that whenever they got back we would encounter the same problem, so we called the front desk to complain and ask to be moved. We were told that security was being dispatched to the room, but by the time they got there the people had left for evening festivities. Regardless, we requested the front desk change our room anyway because we did not want to have a second night of this disruption. This whole discussion took quite a bit of time, first saying no other rooms, then "maybe" they could move us, but to a room not as high. We did not care, we just wanted to be able to enjoy our trip. So they finally said we could be moved to another room and someone would be up shortly with keys. We quickly tried to gather our belongings thinking someone would be right up, just like they said, but 30 minutes later still no one brought the keys. We had to call three different times and by now it was 9:00 or so in the evening, so there should not have been a problem with getting the keys. Certainly not a busy time of the day for guest services, In fact, we were told by the Front Desk we were at the mercy of Guest Services. Finally someone did arrive with the new keys. Problem was they did not offer to help move us, they did not show up with a cart for our luggage and several gallons of water we had to buy because they dont provide drinking water. He basically handed the keys off and walked off - Very unprofessional. We felt like we were being extremely inconvenienced by even having to make the move, but then when they did not apologize or offer to help us move our belongings thats just wrong! As a matter of fact, due to the reason we were having to move, they should have upgraded our room or done something to make the situation better. Maybe a free offer of buffet, fruit basket for our inconvenience - Anything would have been nice. The $39 daily resort fee is the same resort fee for competing properties which do offer great amenities such as turn down service, twice a day room cleaning, bottled water, coffee machines and refrigerator. We know because we stayed at a competing resort a few years back and had all those things provided for that same fee. Venetian is sadly lacking or completely devoid of such service. No water, no coffee maker, no refrigerator, no separate pool designations so couples could have a relaxing place to enjoy. Toilets havent been updated for years and are so low to the ground that they are hard to sit down on even at 55". Also, the toilets smelled of sewer gas. Take a look at the pix of our "fresh" sheets we got the day before leaving - They were threadbare and torn. Also the "luxurious" towels and robes were so hard they felt like sandpaper. Overall it was a horrible experience, very uncomfortable, and we could not wait to check out. The overall impression we came away with is that the Venetian is a place that squeezes every penny to turn a profit.

I was staying with 17 guys for a bachelor party weekend. The first night we were drinking at the Dorcey (their casino bar) and the groom accidentally knocked over a small table which had a glass top that slid off and broke. Why they dont have plexiglass I cant fathom. The large black bouncer with braids said we had to go and we did. 5 minutes later, near the elevators, he grabs the groom by the neck and aggressively walks/drags/chokes him back to the bar. Three security guards (Erick, Sanja, and David) and a manager (Ryan) show up and have us wait for over an hour talking about property damage and getting an estimate. Despite giving them all of our IDs, room numbers, etc. they refuse to let us leave and start telling a different story about how they warned us multiple times (not true). I explain to them that we are spending thousands of dollars here every night and it was accidental but still they held all of us for over an hour, dressing us down in public, and forced us to pay $100 at the cage for a broken glass table top. This is honestly the worst management failure Ive ever experienced. That is not how you properly handle minor incidents. The next morning I went downstairs and spoke with Mary at the front desk about our poor experience and treatment the previous night and I got the feeling that she really couldnt care less. It seems like despite this being a 5 star hotel there is not one person Ive met who actually cares about the guest experience. It doesnt matter how nice the hotel is if the hospitality is lacking and I believe its non-existent here. I wont be staying at the Venetian next time.

Non smoking room. Had for 8 days smoke filling the room from bathroom vents. Last day marijuana filled the room so heavy it made us sick. We complained about the issue. Manager comped the room all days. We said thats not necessary. He insisted and told us no bill would be charged to us when we checked out in the morning. To our surprise the bill was still there. And with a new manager i argued again. We were lied to and was charged half the bill. The point was. We didnt even ask for a comp on the room. We were given one. And then they took it away. Oh one more thing. We rented a car from avis for $87 total. But if you go to the concierge desk they charge you $525.00 for the same car. Funny how you have to watch your butt at this hotel. We hace stayed here many times. But under this management you better get reciept up front. Oh one last thing. What lead to the complaint from us. We were told to wait in the room for the security detail show up. And we did for 1 1/2 hours. We missed our dinner and show. We couldnt get dressed when the security people would show up. So we called three times and waited so the could find the where the marijuana was coming from. After everything they said nothing could have been done. I sure didnt want to be charged for cleaning of a non smoking room. Thats why i complained. I hope all read this. And take note.
