Very few places (regardless of industry) are very polite or helpful, but every time I have gone into this shop I am warmly greeted and the staff are extremely helpful. I dont have aquariums so I utilize their reptile supply section which is not too shabby. Their prices are amazing compared to any other nearby store, whether a mom and pop shop or big chain (yes, their prices are generally even lower than PetSmart or PetCo). The location is very easy to get to for anyone traveling on Interstate 80 also, which is a big plus for me since I commute for work from Auburn-Sac five days/week. Their hours are long enough that if I am off at 6:00 pm I can still make it in for live feeders or an emergency item. One other HUGE bonus; the place is CLEAN and all tanks and aquariums are sparkling clean with no dead fish or reptiles. It doesnt smell, and is very easy to navigate. THIS IS HUGE, as I simply cannot stand shopping in a reptile store that has a strong and unpleasant odor. Hopefully this store will keep its appearance and customer service level top notch. I have seen many new stores start off great, then slack on the upkeep which makes it no longer enjoyable to shop in. Thanks, guys, for the great service!

This is a really great store I go there every 3 days to buy live worms for my Discus which they do not have a great selection of and when they do they are not impressive but I just go to another store for that. The staff are kind and very helpful and unlike others have said, their service is great and the quality of their fish are outstanding. One thing I really dont like is the fact that they do not buy fish for cash or store credit but they will accept donations and I figure if they only get their fish from supplies then I would understand that but the fact that they take donations means they are not afraid of the introduction of other peoples fish. So not purchasing them doesnt make sense to me. Other than that they are a great store and very friendly. I would highly recommend them for beginners and experts alike.

Placed an order on the 27th of November - it was unseasonably warm, but not hot. Cool, but not freezing. Perfect time to order some shrimp, yeah? It is currently the 4th of February. When the order didnt ship combined with another order Id made (which was also delayed) I waited a bit, and then complained when it seemed clear it was not going to ship. They wanted to cancel my order unless I paid for shipping again, rather than shipping the goods Id already paid for. I expressed my dissatisfaction and they offered to ship them at their cost. I thought the matter was settled - no. The ship date then slipped again. And again. When they did finally send something out, it was bags full of stinky water with no shrimp in them. I will not do business with them again, and do not recommend that anyone else do so.

I have always wanted to find a high quality, friendly local aquarium to shop at. Supporting local business is important, but only when the staff and facility deserve it. This place certainly hits those marks. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and the animals seem healthy. They have a very wide variety of species, salt and fresh water. And with their new expansion, reptiles and amphibians too. The shop even has a friendly dog who greets shoppers. I will continue going to them with all of my fish needs in the future, and I encourage those reading to do the same. Oh, and they are on of the few non commercial shops to give my boyfriend and I odd looks for walking in holding hands. Definitely a plus in customer service!

This is about the cleanest store, with wall to wall tanks... each sparkling clear water and healthy fish, both salt water and fresh. All plants are growing, green and healthy, most with nice roots already. I found the staff both knowledgable knowledgable and very friendly. I went to look after my son mentioned it. Everything looked so good I dropped $500 in fish, plants, filter and supplies. Just looking around with such a well kept store just got me excited all over again for my own 125 and 40 gal tanks. This store would honestly have recieved 5 stars from me, but after today Ill never return my business to them or recommend them to anyone. I purchased 70.00 worth of a species of fish that I recently found out was mislabeled when it grew to a completely different species. I contacted them about the error on their part and was told I could donate my fish to them and special order the correct ones. They wouldnt offer a trade for the correct fish, or even store credit for their value since they" Dont accept returns", Im truly shocked about this business, and disappointed that they wouldnt be willing to correct and error made on their behalf.

Love, love, love this place. My boyfriend and I come here often and the customer service is great the owner is a really nice guy. All the fish Ive gotten from them have been healthy and strong. They take fish requests if you dont see the fish you want in the store. They are also offering a rewards program now which has saved us a few dollars already. They have a variety of plants available as well but they are kept with snails. The service reps there also have a good foundational knowledge of most fish and they always ask how our tanks are doing and are ready with useful tips and tricks that they have used themselves.

Ordered a recent order of coral, most have not opened in a solid week. My tank is pristine condition with tons of other coral open and happy. Suppose to be 9 different kinds but I know I did not get 9 based on the couple the did open up enough to see them. Tried to call 3 times during business hours. No answer. Posted on their page and pictures with no response. We have a large salt water community in my large city and this word will spread quick. Hope they can contact me so I can revise this rating. But for now, dont waste your money. Horrible BBB rating too, I seen after I ordered unfotunately.

this place is great. they have a great selection of fish and reptiles along with accessories. when Im in the sac area this is the place I go to. they also have huge fish for sale in their side back room. love their displAy tanks. staff is nice and seem to know what the are taking about. the only thing I dont like its hot as hell in there be prepAred to sweat a storm in there. can get really busy in there so be prepared to wait because newbies to the hobby cant make up their minds. this review is coming from someone that has a lot of tAnks and has been doing this for a bit

BEWARE of this store. I recently purchased multiple rams and gouramis and acclimated them into one of my 4 well established tanks. By evening I noticed one showing signs of ich and one had an eye missing that had already healed. I returned the fish with ich only to be basically accused of causing the problem. I then turned up the heat and added salt to that tank..now a week later 2 almost gone and the rest covered with ich. Now in addition to the 85.00 spent on these fish I have had to spend a great deal on meds with hope that at least a few might survive..
