Ive been going to this theater for many years as its the closest to where I live and has generally been a pretty good theater. Unfortunately I wont be returning (at least until they change their lighting policy) after the experience I had on 12/22 trying to watch the latest Hunger Games movie. They left 4 of the lights on in the room through the entire movie, which made the screen extremely difficult to see (the lack of contrast washed out much of the detail on the screen) and completely ruined the movie experience by killing the feeling of immersion. Several people went out to complain, and the manager finally claimed that they have to keep some lights on "for safety purposes". I was unaware that going to the movies was a dangerous experience, and a different theater I went to (on 12/19) was as dark as usual. I recommend avoiding this theater unless you are afraid of the dark or dont want to see the whole movie.

I love the new laz-z-boy type chairs in the theaters. Makes the movies worth seeing again. The filthiness of the old seats stopped me from going before. However, the management is still clueless about cleaning. The bathrooms are disgusting as it smells so bad in there and urine surrounds each toilet. But the most obvious, and simple to solve, is the rudeness of staff and amazing amount of trash and food all over the snack counter and behind it on the floor. I cant imagine it would cost more than a few bucks to make sure someone is cleaning up popcorn and butter that spills. And a simple training exercise to help the staff know that guests should be treated with kindness and respect would go a long way. Bottom line: Ill go there when I really, really want to see a movie, but if I can avoid it at all...I will. Please clean this "what-could-be-beautiful" theater up just a tiny bit and it will be amazing.

This is my usual theatre. The staff is always helpful and I love the fact that it is not crowded early on a weekday. I can actually enjoy the movie without too many rude people. Sure, the concession prices are ridiculous, but they are at every movie theatre. Whats more, I cant even enjoy the popcorn there because it is popped in coconut oil, which I am allergic to. Thats some torture. So I make sure I dont buy ANYTHING at the concession area since I cant have the one item that tempts me most. And please dont tell me that I could have some delicious chicken fingers or a nice hot dog and nachos instead. They aint popcorn, plus I have no idea what has come into contact with the coconut based product. Come to think of it, I probably shouldnt even go into the theatre. Holy crap. Thanks AMC, I just scared myself out of visiting your establishments ever again!

I understand going to the movies has been priced as a "premier" form of entertainment for quite a few years now. I wouldnt mind it as much if they actually made it worth the money by providing stellar picture and audio quality in a clean and friendly environment. However this theater does not. The audio quality ranges depending on what theater you are in. Sometimes it is so quiet and hard to hear, the movie should be thumping in there. Sometimes it seems the subwoofers arent even on. The seats are ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Visible soil beyond acceptable levels is on EVERY chair in EVERY theater. They need at a minimum professionally cleaned or honestly some are so bad they need replaced. At this rate I get why people pirate movies and watch them at home, this theater is not a place Id want to spend my hard earned money.

Besides some super annoying buzzing from the one rear speaker during initial ads (pre-trailers and which went away after about 20 minutes), this place is great. Concessions are expectedly overpriced, but the employees are super friendly and helpful. In terms of the theater rooms themselves, I can only speak for the IMAX room. The seats were comfortable enough that I didnt fidget at all the entire duration of Deadpool. The sound and video quality were equally great! -In response to some other reviews of the speakers being quiet during IMAX viewings of the newest Star Wars film, I think it was just that audio that was quiet. I saw it at a different AMC and thought the same, but after watching Deadpool and having amazing and loud sound, my conclusion is it was a one-movie fluke.

This place use to be nice.. I wish they made a membership and only allowed people who bought a membership to these theaters. I went to see "Get Out" yesterday the 5:15pm show and we werent made aware of our seating numbers.. that upgrade was left out the memo I guess.. so this lady, that brought two toddlers girls to see this rated R movie just comes up to us and said we were in her seats and we said nobody is in their assigned seat.. anyway we just scooted down to be polite and everything was cool. So then 10 minutes later her raggity a@@ kids started crying and talking and being all "post road"! I wish they wouldnt sell R rated tickets to people with guest under the age of 13. Anyway the theather there is "Thug Life" trash!

Went and saw Star Wars in Imax 3D. This is the closest Imax to where I live (Lafayette), so I figured Id give it a shot. The experience was pretty disappointing. For an Imax, the screen was very small. The sound was annoyingly quiet also (another reviewer pointed this out). The experience felt like I was watching it at a friends house, not a movie theater. Also had the misfortune of sitting in front of a very obnoxious family with an annoying 10-year-old who kept kicking the seat next to me and whining. They wouldve been easier to ignore had the frickin sound been turned up somewhere past medium/quiet. For an Imax experience, Id avoid this one for the future. The state theater downtown is far superior in every way.

The young staff member was very rude and cold. I havent been to a movie theater in about 8yrs. My boys wanted to see The Lego Batman movie. I guess you have to reserve seats in advance. I didnt know that. Prior to coming I had called the store at least 3 different times that day because I had questions about the website information. Also the guy said they didnt have any seats together, but scattered. It was me, my 11yr old and 5yr old. I offered to pay for everyone and the little one could sit on my lap. He said No we only have one seat left. You just said the seats were scattered now you saying it is only one seat.

Better than other recent visits, but still unreasonably expensive for the quality of the movie going experience. They seem to still be unable to successfully strategize the placement of showings with respect to noise level. For example, showing something like Logan in the theater next to the showing of The Shack (just an example, but Ive had a similar experience and it was difficult to get into the movie due to all the ruckus through the walls). I only returned to this theater because its close to home and I had a gift card for the tickets, but well never return if it means spending our own money...not worth it.

I hate their scheduling system. I like to go to afternoon matinees but their IMAX 3-D hasnt been showing in 3-D during afternoon hours. For example upcoming Captain America: Civil War the 4 PM showing is ordinary IMAX and all the other IMAX times are IMAX 3-D. My only alternative is to go to the south side IMAX were all their showings are IMAX 3-D if it is available. I like the wheelchair seating at this theater better than the south side IMAX. The south side one seems to have better sound. This one is closer to my house but if they dont change their scheduling I may never come back.
