One of the best public golf courses in MN. I had golfed here many times before the renovation and liked it then, so now its much improved. The course has all of the familiar unique features like the trees are still in front of the Par 3 #4 and on #17 but they have improved the overall layout of the course, added lots of bunkers, better grass on the fairways, flattened & redesigned & widened some fairways and improved the grees with new grass. That said, I do agree with the previous reviewer that they may have opened a bit too soon - the fairway grass & greens were a bit rough. But it will be better this year. It still is probably the best public GC even with those problems. As a lady golfer, I like where they have moved the forward tees - especially on 13 where now I dont have to hit over the big gully - its only an easy Par 3 for me now instead of losing a ball in the water or woods. Also, I have heard some senior golfers complain that there isnt any longer a nice "gold" tee option - the white are too close to the black and the blue tees are a bit too far with the new redesign. The clubhouse is very nice and traditional and has a full menu of quite good food - everything from salads to walleye to steak and full bar. Of course, you can stop in at the turn (which is after #11 at Keller) and get a hot dog or sandwich. They have happy hour too and an outdoor patio to watch golfers come in on 18...and hopefully not get nailed by an errant shot since the patio seems a little close to the finishing hole. I cant wait for spring to come and get back to Keller!

Just finished a bad golf experience at Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, MN. The cost for a round of golf is $43.00 so I was expecting an above average experience. As we were warming up we noticed a five-some was two groups in front of us followed by a three-some just in front of us. So we were waiting many times with the three-some because of the five ahead of them. It was a very hot day and expected to see the drink cart many times. We saw it twice. Once between holes 2 and 3 and then once more between 8 and 9. We never saw her on the back nine. We were so upset we decided not to drink anything in the clubhouse. To top it off, the conditions were lousy. Most tee boxes had many bare spots. The collars on every green also had many bare spots. The greens were very slow and most likely had not been cut today. As a Ramsey County taxpayer I feel the double effect of my tax dollars not being spent well and the greens fees being way over-priced. We will not be going back!

Sadly a major disappointment Had a tee time for 4:21,.. at first they couldnt locate my reservation, then after 25 minutes or so they finally had found it.. Odd. So I had to wait while two foursomes went ahead. I asked if there was drink carts out and about and was told yes.. I didnt see a single one.., 92° mind you The kids were rude behind the desk and not even a "thank you" or "have a good game" After the 2nd hole I couldnt find the 3rd hole.. no signs that I could see. I roamed the course and never did find it. Frustrated and overheated, I left after the 2nd hole. $35.00 down the drain. Thanks for a memorable Fathers day experience

I played the "new" Keller this morning after having not played it for many years. It simply was fantastic. Ive been lucky to play quite a few private clubs in recent years, and this course -- even the greens...wait, especially the greens! -- were stunning. Many of the changes to the course are subtle but some of the more striking, like the first tee and the removal of the tree line on #13, improve the course considerably. I will be back many more times this summer and wouldnt be surprised if it becomes my go-to course.

2014: Very disappointed in both the clubhouse and the golf course. Ill not hurry back. Course was opened at least a year too soon. 2015; I played it again this year and think the conditions are still rough. In a few years conditions may be good, if not great. Also, I question the design of some greens where you are unable to see the landing area, and the green slopes away from you from front to back. Very odd.

Played the "new" re-design of the classic public course for the first time last year. Really liked the changes that were made, but course was opened a little early after remodel. This year the course is in better condition. Greens and fairways have grown in. Definitely worth a visit. Reasonably priced and presents a challenge for all skill levels if you pick the right tee.

We recently had our wedding at the Keller Golf Course and I am so happy that we did. The venue is beautiful, staff are very friendly and we received so many positive comments about the location. It is very easy to get to and does not need much decorations as it is already so nice inside. I would highly recommend Keller for a wedding venue or other event!

If you are into golf you have to play this course. The tree at 4 is worth the price alone. The layout is sensational and even if grass care is only 3/5 the pros overweight cons by far. Great practice area, adequate bar and an actual grill outdoor in summer. And did I mention the tree? I had nightmares in winter about it. Price is public fate good.

My favorite golf course in the St Paul metro area. Course is in very nice shape. The Head PGA professional Mark Foley is a hard working guy and runs a very nice shop. The food at the club house is second to none. Every person that works there is pleasant and helpful. If you havent played here you owe yourself a tee time.

My Mom had her wedding reception at the newly built clubhouse. Facilities were good. The staff were very professional and responsive. Ive got to give some credit to the bartender for her mastery of barkeep small-talk. The employees here definitely get the credit for bumping this up to 4 stars.

The best municipal golf course Ive ever played anywhere. Home of the 1932 and 1954 PGA Championship. Great conditions, and lots of classic history here. Renovation completed last year honored the tradition of the course and kept all the unique features that give the course its character.

Ramsey County tore down a uniquely beautiful and historic clubhouse and put up a characterless barn in its place. Either out of laziness (restoration would have required work!) or some commissioners were paid off by the construction industry. Either way, its a tragedy!

New favorite spot in the cities. Everything on the course was in great shape. Quick and flawless greens. Seems like they should pro rate the twilight price, however. If you jump on at 6:30pm $27 + Cart at $11 seems steep for that time of night.
