Lucky Strike pulled a bait and switch on my and I figured I would let you all know so it doesnt happen to you. Here is the story .. Tried to go bowling with a coworker about 4 weeks ago, but when we arrived at 5pm, we were told there would be a 45 minute wait. We saw a sign that said, $2 games on Tuesdays. It being a Wednesday, we decided to shoot some pool and come back in a couple of weeks, on a Tuesday, to get the deal. 2 weeks later, I tried to book it out online as well as over the phone a couple of hours before we were to go. I was told that the reservation system has to be used more than 3 hrs ahead of time, and that only walk-ins were available. The wait time was expected to be 1.5hrs. We decided to postpone again. This week we were unable to get any time slot we wanted, but did manage to get a reservation for 8:30pm, by booking through the website. I was asked to fill out a form, which included a credit card and a lengthy Terms & Condition section. I was charged $24.50 for the reservation. Since it was a Tuesday, I assumed we would get that back, if we showed up, and then could bowl for $2 per game. Boy was I wrong. We dropped by to see what the deal was, and as it turned out. They wanted us to pay full price, since we reserved the lane for an hour, as opposed to waiting for the open lanes to bowl for $2 per game. Not only that, but the $24.50 was only half of the hourly price of $45, plus a $2 booking fee. In order to bowl for the hour, we would need to pay an additional $22.50, plus $4 each for shoes. So what should have amounted to $20 (3 games @ $2 each and shoe rental) turned out to be a whopping total of $55 for 1 hr. Since we were there several hours early we explained this to the bowling attendant/cashier. He seemed very sympathetic and said that he would just ring up his manager and get us a refund. Unfortunately the call to his manager lasted about 6 seconds and he informed us that the $22.50 was non-refundable. We left, and did not return. $22.50 down the drain for all my trouble. Other things you should know. They only keep a couple of lanes for walk-ins, and the vast majority are for hourly rental by reservation. Both times we were there, there were only 2-3 of the lanes being used while there was a long waiting list. I hope this helps some of you out there to avoid the kind of disappointment we suffered.

Our server came out and was great, said it was an extra 1.50 for any double. So I told him Id get a double shot of any dark rum in an Arnold Palmer. A buddy of mine got a sprite/Sierra mist. The guy came back out then said they had kraken, captain, or something else, so I took it with captain. He came back with drinks and water. 10 or so minutes later he came back with two more sierra mists and asked if I wanted another drink. We were ready to go, so he said he could just take cash and come back with the check/change. I gave him a $10, my buddy, a $5. We waited for another 10-15 minutes before we absolutely decided we were going to leave. My friends were in the bathroom and I went up and asked what the total was, and if he was going to give us the check. He said, "well, are you going to tip me?" And I said yes. I was supposed to get 70¢ back and my friend $1.30. Due to his arrogance in just taking our change and keeping it for a tip my friends and I decided to take it all back. So heres a tip, if you want a cash tip, dont leave your customers out when you say youll be back with change and the bill, then just take said change and assume its a tip. I can guarantee you would have gotten a $5 if you would have been back, like you said you were going to be. Getting the change back was actually sort of enjoyable, watching our server roll his eyes and sigh multiple times. Breaking the bills back down and him handing me 70¢ made me appreciate, even more, the principle of the matter, seeing how he had none. Principle- a fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system of belief or behavior or for a chain of reasoning. Also, Ive noticed this more and more, with multiple establishments. Generally young bartenders that are about to give a dollar plus in change will be like, "did you want that back?" Ive seen this with more than one dollar on one drink, to customers aside from myself. From now on Im taking it back, and advocating for people to take it back, every time. Being rude to a customer will always get you a lesser tip.

Lucky Strike Denver ruined our NYE celebration plans. The event was hosted by a third party. We purchased a voucher on Bloomspot that included a private lane unlimited bowling for 6 people, bottle service, and a food tray. Upon arrival, we were told to share a lane with another party. We declined the offer because we did not pay to share a lane, as did the party. We noticed another lane was available so we decided to locate there, however we were told to move because it was reserved! Keep in mind our lane was reserved too!! After speaking to about 3 managers of Lucky Strike and a rep from the company hosting the party, nothing was resolved. Shortly after, we were approached by 2 bouncers who also agreed we were treated like crap. We remained on the lane until security and police were called. The General Manager/Owner immediately stated that if we did not leave the lane, we would be escorted out by police. She failed to even ask what the issue was. It wasnt until about 10:30 until Lucky Strike tried settle the issue. We were placed in the pool table area by the door designated for smokers to exit. It was freezing cold!!! Lucky Strike provided food and drinks for us, but it still wasnt enough. As a side note, the food was AWFUL!!! Although the event was hosted by a third party, Lucky Strike couldve done way better. We were treated as if we came in off the streets and did not pay for anything. Overall, their customer service is POOR and I do not recommend that anyone visits this establishment! Please share, tell all your friends.

The whole ambiance for these lanes is magnificent. The fact that this is a multi-state chain has not diminished the value of the setting nor the care for the lanes. The whole site rings with references to the movie "The Big Lebowski" (by the Coen brothers), and the aesthetics of the place are wonderful. The food is good, the location is nice, the parking is free (if you are willing to walk a block) and it is located very close to 6th avenue, making it accessible even from SW Littleton. The only problem with the atmosphere is that it gets really loud when more than a few lanes are taken up. It can be somewhat frustrating finding a ball some times. Mid-range balls are in short supply, though upper weight and lower weight balls are plentiful. The largest problem that I have had thus far is the willingness of the staff (specifically the mid level management) to serve customers. If asked to turn down the music or change the music, the answer is an unchanging and outright NO, even if you are one of the only groups bowling, even if you are the only one to have made a request. The people working there are typically fine and friendly, willing to make a joke and do what they can for you. The willingness of their supervisors and employers to allow them to help you, though, is a completely different story. I would recommend this site to anybody who wants to really bowl, and not just take the kids out. This would be a wonderful place for a date or for a few friends to have a good night out.
