If I could rate this place 0 stars I would but it wasnt an option. I felt that my family and I were discriminated from the second we walked in. The staff seemed irritated that we had the nerve to come into this facility and PAY to bowl. As I sit here observing, I noticed that if you were Caucasian you where able to get a lane but all the minorities that came before them had to wait 15-20 minutes because "there was a league playing." Not only was the front desk person extremely rude and unpleasant, the bartender rolled her eyes, huff and puffed when we got our drinks. The one star is for the nice lady that we met last time who was super sweet. Sadly, I will never come here again. In a small town like Lafayette where the minorities make up most of the population (born and raised 31 years), youd expect better from this staff and this bowling alley. For all those who want to have a great family night, dont waste your money here, go somewhere else where they treat you like a human being!

Ive been a regular (3 times a week) at Coal Creek Bowling for 3 months now with many disappointments over that time. It is close to my house so that is where I have been going. Got there at 8:30 this Thursday morning and there was a group of school kids bowling which is fine but although half the lanes were not being used, I was told that they didnt have anything thing open until 10 am. This is the third time that I have been turned away during the day. The pro shop is completely hit or miss if anyone shows up to work there or not. Im just done with this alley. Brunswick Zone in Westminster has a great special every weekday from 2 to 4 pm for $7.99 all you can bowl including a small drink and fries, great savings. Mike at the pro shop there is awesome, he has regular hours and hes always there when he should be. Mike is always busy because hes so good.

When I called to see what time open lanes were the guy who answered gave me the times and basically hung up. Then when I walked in with 4 kids, he (Im assuming the same guy) was eating his lunch at the counter & seemed to be ticked off that we had just interrupted him. Then finally, a nice gentleman (the mechanic) gave me a bowling ramp so the two 4 year olds could use it. After awhile management (I guess) came down and said that they only use that ramp for the handicap. I explained they were 4 year olds and although they CAN bowl without it, wed be here for 3 hours just waiting for the ball to hit the pins! She said we could use it this time but it will not be available for when we come in again. Well...there will not be a next time!! Also, each time we have gone in, none of the video games work. They are all out of order!

We should have paid attention to the smell as we walked through the door. We were there to bowl and looked past the stinch. Apparently they have remodeled, to the late 80s, and the management seems to be stuck there as well. Things were ok until the management actually came to our group and made a child cry by insisting they he could not bowl. I have never seen such poor customer service oriented staff anywhere. The food was horrible and no one seemed to enjoy the place that should have been all about fun. This will without a doubt be our first and last family visit to this location.

This place needs a change of Management desperately. The facility is extremely outdated, they dont even have flat screens or input pads for each lane let alone updated graphics for the TV screens. Even the lanes themselves are poorly maintained. The prices are not that good for the quality compared to going to Brunswick in Westminster or Fat Cats. Im pretty sure this will be the next business to shutter its doors in Lafayette (surprised it hasnt already). I highly recommend going to another bowling alley.

Used to be my place to bowl. But after the rude front desk service we are done. Its only a matter of time and this place will be shut down if management doesnt make some major changes. It sad really because it has so much potential. Fortunately the food/bar area had friendly staff. I had a huge group of people we invited and everyone had a terrible experience with the staff members who have been there for years. Also the website and coupons need to be clarified. Very misleading. Very disappointing.

We reserved a lane for a children's bday party and when we got there we were greeted very rudely being told that we would have to wait an hour for our lane. So we figured the kids could play air hockey and video games while we waited. But were told they were all broken. It was dingy and dirty and the staff was extremely rude. Came to Chippers Lanes in Broomfield instead and it was fantastic. For the same price. Don't waste your time at this hole!

Its a bowling alley, plain and simple. The staff is hit and miss, but all you need them for is to give you your shoes and turn on your lanes, and then to get the balls unstuck (which they do seem to get stuck too often). But, otherwise, its a fine place to bowl - who goes to a bowling alley to eat (dont plan on it here). And as the other reviews show - this is not a good place for a kids birthday party, which is obviously the source of most of the poor reviews.

The outdated appearance of the alley shouldnt deter real bowlers. The lanes are well maintained, and consistent. Host to several sanctioned state tournaments, league play at Coal Creek is the best Ive experienced. Maybe not the best place for a young persons birthday party, but if you hate loud music, black lights, and flashing strobes while youre bowling, you cant beat this place. Oh, and the staff is ultra-friendly, as far as Im concerned.

Dont Bother. Run by Rude Idiots who threatened to kick my family out because we were teaching our 2 year old to bowl. Manager was too coward to give us our one rude warning and sent some entitled teenage girl who has no idea what having a 2 year old is like. My 5 year old said it smelled dirty on there, and I agreed. Go to Westminster, its worth the drive and they are great with kids and families. #SmellsLikeFeetDippedInFebreeze

I can understand why uptight parents may find this place to be inappropriate for their children, but as far as Im concerned, this is the most authentic and bowler friendly place Ive been to in years. The staff is always helpful, and are happy to let us move lanes whenever theyre too many screaming kids next to us throwing off the game. The food is pretty good, and the games are reasonably priced. Ill certainly be a regular here.

Went on weekend and it was fairly busy. We (4 adults) got our lane, shoes and found balls without too much trouble. There was no warm up, since I havent been in years, this was a surprise. I guess lanes dont allow that anymore? Lanes seemed in good condition. There were several mechanical issues with balls getting stuck, but they were quick to fix. Bar had good local beers and friendly service. Id go here again.
