I went to the newer Movico recently in Thousands Oaks, Ca and when I went up to the clerk to purchase my ticket she was rude and not very friendly. I asked if they were at all connected with Regal theaters and if I could use my regal gift card. (I was just wondering) she very rudely said no we have nothing to do with Regal and we cant take your card. I then got my ticket and went to get some popcorn and a soda. I asked the clerk if I could have another empty small cup to share the very large soda with my son and the clerk at the concession stand was also rude and said he couldnt give me an extra small empty cup. I was shocked. I asked the manager and was told I would have to pay for a small empty cup (pay the price of another soda) are they kidding me! I then made my way to my seat (not the super high priced extra expensive seats...just the normal expensive high priced regular seats and they are very uncomfortable. They dont move or recline and feel very odd. I guess if I want a comfortable easy experience in that theater I better pay $3.50 cents for an extra empty cup and another several dollars for a super high prices supposedly comfortable seat in the VIP section. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE AGAIN VERY SOON.

They apparently hold back availability of seats that are reservable in advance. We were in a theater last night that had a front section of three rows and a back section of three rows. When I reserved my seats (three hours in advance), it showed everything in the front section as available, or else there were three seats in the very back corner. I didnt want to be stuck in the front section in case it was too close, so I took the back corner. It turned out that the two rows in front of us (the first two rows of the back section) were completely and totally empty. We would have had much better seats had we not made any reservations nor paid the premium to do so! Their snackbar prices are completely outrageous, even for a movie theater snackbar. $4.50 for any candy or even for a small snack-sized bag of potato chips! $4.50 for the smallest drink! $9.00 for a hotdog! Yes, we made the choice not to buy anything, but its too bad -- this really takes away from the movie-going experience.

Muvico? More like Jew-vico. Happy hour drinks at Lazy Dog, there was an advert for $7.50 movie tickets. I purchased two of them. I showed up and they said they were not valid. They then rang me up for the movie, and the bill was $40! Total, we paid $55.00 to see a stupid movie. Here is a list of better things to buy with $55.00 1) Ten Double Doubles from In-N-Out 2) A 60 minute massage with happy ending from a small asian masseuse in a red miniskirt 3) Concert tickets to see your favorite band rock your face off. Cons: The most expensive movie I have ever paid for Pros: Comfortable seats. With that said, for $55.00 the seat should give me a western-grip, lubricated HJ and clean me off with a hot menthol scented towel afterwards. Will not return.

We wanted to see The Lost City of Z, and it wasnt playing at our local theatre - Studio Movie Grill. We were intrigued Thousand Oaks had a "dine-in" theatre experience and were disappointed it was far from it. Its unfair to compare venues, but weve become accustomed to the full service treatment. Having to order your food and drink upstairs, wait for it and bring it back in take-out form down to your theatre was far from fun and even less exciting to find there were no table trays to use. We ended up balancing our containers on our laps and leaving our seats to get refills during the show. The theatre staff were exceptional, but the overall experience was enough to keep us away in the future.

Dirty and disgusting theatre, this was so not worth the extra money they charge! The bathroom was so completely gross: water all oover the floor and counter, the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned in hours, and there were no paper towels. I did not pay extra money for bathrooms worse than the discount theater. And who says this theater is 21 and over? There were little kids in my rated R movie, making noise and disturbing the film. The staff is also snotty and rude. They ignored my friend and I as we waited to be helped and assisted anyone else who walked up in the lines on either side of us. I WONT BE BACK - THE ARCLIGHT OVERCHARGES BUT YOU GET A SUPERIOR MOVIE EXPERIENCE FROM THEM!!!

Very good theater, pretty well run. Big auditoriums for big movies. Good temperature control and film presentation. Negatives: the concession lines always seemed to be understaffed and some food items, like hot dogs, are never ready. A huge negative is that if you want food and you arent seeing a movie upstairs and sitting in the special seats, you have to do a big meandering lap around the theater and up a giant escalator. The food is ok but the 10+ minutes it takes to go retrieve your food means you miss a good chunk of the movie. Stupid design. At minimum they should bring the food to the downstairs concession stand for pickup.

I really want to try eating here. My friends didnt want to cuz I thought the food was going to suck but the menu looks really really good. And they have cool seats that move in vibrate but unfortunately we werent in a movie that supported that. I love what AMC is doing for movie theaters though its making them fun to go again. They have a balcony here in which I want to try, they have cool 3D and moving seats which I want to try, theyve got an awesome menu which I want to try. Its nice to have something that youre excited about that you think to yourself I want to try these things! AMC is making movie going fun again

Definitely the best theatre that Ive been to so far in Ventura County. The Sony 4K digital cinema projectors are amazing, as is the surround sound. Id say that the seating in the regular auditoriums is slightly above average in terms of comfort and leg room. There is more comfortable leather seating in the VIP and larger auditoriums. Reserved seating can seem pointless at times, like when there arent that many people in your particular auditorium. Ticket prices are okay. Snack prices, however, Id say you are better off BYO.

1. Stadium Seating which make sure that there are no blocked view, seats are big and comfortable compare to other theaters 2. Sony 4K (dont remember exact) projector is very good for picture, sound is wonderful also 3. you can pick your seats when it is reserved seating 4. VIP balcony seats are good choice for couples. 5. it seems tickets can be purchased online now hope in the future they can put in a Imax theater(I mean the real one not those small cheesy screen Imax)

I really appreciate the over 21 aspect of the theaters. It is nice to watch a movie without a bunch of rude unsupervised kids in the theater. I have been to many movies at the Thousand Oaks location and never experienced any of the things complained about in the other review. As the person who posted about the theater arresting their customers, I read that the person arrested was filming the movie. The copying of a movie in a theater is crime.
