the sound quality of the theatre is pathetic, you only hear the movie out of the front speakers. The majority of the staff are snobbish and more interested in their own lives than provided if customer service. I complained and they put in a PG13 movie I. The first seen with a guy getting his head cut off and they turned off the sound. The management staff here would rather hide behind their employees rather than check the theatres to ensure that everything is operating correctly before patrons start showing up. This has been the worst of experiences and this place is going down hill. I would rather drive 100 miles away to Nashville Carmike theatre than one back to this horrible place again. Cookeville deserves a better movie theatre.

Ive been coming to this theater for years, and recently loved using Atom to purchase my tickets, popcorn, and drinks to get quick entry and discounts. After it changed to AMC, I tried to do the same thing and found that I still have to stand in line with atom tickets. On top of that, the popcorn and drinks went up in price and down in quantity. The popcorn was cold and tough, and we didnt even finish the tiny bag because it was so hard to chew. The sound didnt work during the pre-preview materials, and were sitting here weeks later--finally brave enough to try it again--dealing with the same experience. We may start driving to Crossville to see movies, because this is pitiful.

Just what Ive come to expect from a modern Cinematic experience! Huge open building. Several vendors at the concessions counter to help you get in your movie in a timely manner. Concessions are expensive but whoever doesnt already know this is where theaters actually make their profit, not ticket sales, lives under a rock. Comfortable stadium seating. Theaters really have had to step up their game to make watching a movie before it becomes digitally available worth it! Oh and respectful crowd!! Cell phones off before movie begins. Not even the distracting light of texting. Awesome! I love polite Tennessee! Can you tell I just moved here from rude north? LOL

Bought 5 movie tickets to a 9:15 showing. Arrived at 8:15, an HOUR early. Was told the wrong movie theater by 3 different workers so we waited for an hour lined up at the wrong theater while a huge line formed at the correct theater. We spoke to the workers and manager and they still would not let us into the correct theater before the other people that were lined up and had just gotten there. Therefore we missed our movie. THEN, tried to just refund our money on an AMC gift card instead of back on my card. Terrible management. When they switched to AMC from carmike cinemas it became complete trash. Pitiful.

Bought 5 movie tickets arrived at 8:20 to see a 9:15 show and was told to wait by room 5 and we waited there until 9pm and then was told we had been waiting by the wrong showing room that it was playing across the hall in another room. So we walk over there and there is a huge line and people already going in. We ask for a manager and he didnt seem to care what had happen like our time waiting meant nothing to him ! Very bad experience !!!! Very poor way to run a business !!!

Great theater. Be sure to download the Atom app as well. No fees to use it unlike Fandango, and you can skip the line for tickets. They also sometimes offer discounts on select showings using the Atom app or depending on how many tickets you buy. You can also purchase concessions on the Atom app as well and go through the dedicated Atom user line at the concessions stand. Be sure to get the Carmike Rewards card as well to earn free drinks, popcorn, and movie tickets!

The movie was great and the building was clean. Prices are outrageous. 5.40 cents for a water bottle... 20+ for a couple who does not have student discount to go to a non matinee movie? No thanks I could buy the movie down the road for that price. Used to be you go because of the concessions and experience but with the heavy prices there is no worth to them. Not impressed. Likely wont show back up.

I went there last night to see Spider-Man Homecoming. The cashier gave us kid 3D glassses instead of adult, which was easily fixed. I paid for a 3D movie not a 2D movie. They showed a 2D version instead. The movie kept cutting out in the middle and then they jumped it to the end. So we saw the end before the middle. Spoiler. It just moved around because they were trying to fix the 3D projector.

Not a fan of the new AMC. It actually took so long to just buy a ticket(like 20 minutes) that I missed the beginning of the flick so I left. The kicker is that there were only six people in line! They treat you like cattle with all their lines and ropes and poles! NO thanks AMC. They also raised the admission and concession prices. Ill drive to Lebanon or Crossville to see a movie.

The prices keep going up. And the snacks and drinks are stadium prices. When I asked why an employee stated that is how they make there money and that they didnt make any money of the ticket price. It is all bull to me. This is the only theater around and usually busy. No competition leads to highway robbery. Not the best prices. But the theater is ok.

Ever since the Rocky Top 10 in Crossville got too full of themselves and starting jacking up their prices, Ive been making the trek out to Cookeville for my movies. They play a fair amount of previews before the movie and their prices are reasonable, with certain deals for different times of the day. Well worth the extra half hour drive!

Staff is great, theaters are clean. Concessions are high, bring a couple snacks in your purse if you just cant go an hour and a half without food, which some people seem to think is ridiculous. BTW, movie theaters dont make any money off ticket sales this is true. At least try to buy a drink. The theater is a great asset to Cookeville.

Good theatre, clean, clean restrooms, if you are local the large popcorn refillable is definitely a good idea, especially for families, also if you use the atom app to purchase ticket, your first ticket is free, also you can order refreshments on the app and avoid the line. They will prep. Your order when you scan in at the front door.

AMC charges "convenience fees" for online ticket sales, and then "taxes" them separately...? Its a movie theater, not an airline. Charging people more for using a method that doesnt clog your lobby up with foot traffic AND saves you money on employee time spent running ticket sales is idiocy. Youre making me hate going to the movies.

The bathrooms were the most disgusting thing. The toilets werent cleaned at all the entire day. Smelled so bad of urine. The seats in the theatre were unbearably uncomfortable. I expected more on my first visit to this theatre. It was my first and last visit. I appreciate my little small town movie theatre that much more now.

Very clean, great popcorn but WAAYYYY too expensive. Tickets arent bad but you need a second mortgage to buy a popcorn and a drink. I can usually go only 1 or 2 times a year unless I dont want popcorn....which is the only reason I go to the theater instead of waiting for the movie on Redbox.
