The Lark Theater is a single-screen theater that was rescued from oblivion and brought back to life by a group of concerned citizens in 2004. Lovingly restored to 1930s glory, with super-comfortable red velvet seats, wide aisles, and original lighting fixtures (while earning status as the first "green" theater in Marin), this is a neighborhood theater that really has a personal feel. The director of the non-profit that runs the theater often gives an introduction to the film that will be showing and volunteers take your ticket. If seeing a film is not enough, there is a small wine & beer bar, the organic popcorn is to die for, and they also have Lapperts ice cream! Its very difficult to keep a single-screen, non-corporate theater going, and the theater supplements screenings of first- and second-run films with independent film, rentals and special events. If you have a choice of where to see a film, give the Lark a chance!

Charming. Beautiful. Comfortable. This is such a great place to see a good movie. Its large on the inside and very spacious making every seat a great seat. The decor is deco-ish that reminds me of the famous Fox Theater in Westwood Village. They always get great movies and its never too crowded but I think it should be as this is a theater that deserves to carry on for many years to come. I couldnt recommend a better place to see a movie in all of the Bay Area. It makes movie night fun.

This is a beautifully restored Art Deco theater that features some of the best programming in the bay area including, live digital performances of top rate theater, opera, dance, as well as rarely seen US and foreign films, and film classics. The concession stand features, high quality items, coffee, wine, and beer. The sound system is first rate. I especially appreciate the excellent headsets provided free on request for those of us with hearing impairments.

Lark Theatre is a wonderful throwback to the Art Houses of the 50s and 60s. One would never see Majorie Prime in a multiplex. Wonderful movie produced by Jon Hamm and Tim Robbins, first class actors. Plus, 1st class foreign films. My favorite theater in Marin.

Great little local theater with an amazing array of concession stand tasty treats to nibble on during the show. Organic popped popcorn using coconut oil is my favorite or why not try a root beer float !
