Although Silver Dollar is probably best known for their Trap Shooting facilities, the golf course is no slouch. This is a 27 hole course, split into three nines. They are named the Gator, Panther, and Bobcat. My personal favorites are the Gator, followed by the Panther. Most fairways are fairly open, but there are plenty of water hazards. The bunkers are fairly forgiving - no super high walls or deep pits. The staff are all friendly and accommodating, and I cant speak highly enough for manager Bobby C. (I wont attempt to mangle the spelling of his last name - even he introduces himself as simply Bobby C.). This course is far enough away from suburbia that you see an abundance of wildlife. Ive seen gators, wild turkeys, deer, and dozens of species of water foul. Typically, one only hears the sounds of nature, but on weekends it is not uncommon to hear the trap shooters across road, mostly from the adjacent Panther course. A nice plus is that if you feel like getting some exercise, skip the cart and get one of the wheeled bag totes they offer. Do it for just nine or take in 18 - it is a very good walk-able course. The fairways are well maintained, the greens at some times during the year can be a bit dry and slow, but rarely scarred. Most hazards or out of bounds areas to the sides of the fairways are well marked. However, a number of the holes have a water hazard (creek or canal) guarding the green. Many of these are not visible from even halfway down the fairway, making for sometimes challenging lay up decisions. The greens fees are extremely reasonable, usually lower than most of the nearby courses. I call this my best kept secret (well, not any more). I usually hit this course with some of my neighbors, and always have a great time.

My friends and I decided to play a new course for Veterans Day this year. Two of us are active duty and the others were Army Veterans. The initial interaction with the pro shop was unpleasant but we moved on. After playing a couple holes, the ranger came around and rudely hassled us about playing with 5 players. We were the only people within site on the course! On the turn, I stopped in the pro shop to talk about the interaction. The associate that I talked to immediately accused me of lying and rudely interrupted me every time that I tried to talk. During the back nine holes, they had a ranger watching us the entire time. I mean the entire time! I stopped into the pro shop one more time after the round and expressed my disappointment with everything and the guy at the counter just smiled and nodded at me. My friends and I were just trying to play golf to celebrate Veterans Day and this course ruined it!. I will never play there again, nor will my friends. Very disappointed.

As a new shooter trying to embrace this sport I found the staff less than friendly and not helpful at all! They act as if they could care less if you were there or not. The regulars and or residents are rude, old, and crotchety! I want to like this place, but.............! I have had a much better experience at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays in Land OLakes.

Good, basic golf. Some of the course is in a cypress swamp, some is high and dry and most is in good shape and flat. I have played this course once or twice a year for 20+ years. 3 sets of 9 keeps it interesting.

Nice course. Well marked and maintained. Only drawback is the constant sound of gunfire from the range across the street.

Better than expected given low prices offered. Some greens and fairways not quite up to "par" but not bad overall.

Greens were in great shape. There were some areas unplayable due to drainage.
