One I found the course very much improved from the immense tree clearings that took place over the past year. I learned to hit many different shots into the greens that actually improved my game. I have played a lot of golf this year at different courses and the historical rain has saturated all the courses to the point that some days had to close the courses. Those courses that did permit play with a cart specifically required full cart paths only.Four wheels on the pavement. The proper etiquette is to preserve fairways (90 degree rule) and stay at least 30 feet away from the greens or behind marked arrows/signs to protect the soft landing areas in front of the greens..On all days. I continually see these to be ignored and leave track ruts on all the courses. Certainly an irritant to all of us that do appreciate and respect these simple direction. River Forest was one of the nicest kept courses and the owner there threw you off for not replacing a divot. I would no more think any of these golfers would want you driving up on their lawns instead of using their drive way:) We all want a good lie on the course especially when I am playing my cousin Vinney for 25 on ANY course.. I have adhered to these since I was taught at the beginning.."respect and have never had any issues at any of the courses in our fine Pittsburgh Area. They all love to see me.and I them.

Went today, will not go again until the trees are chopped down. The course was in OK shape, but the issue is that on almost every hole, if you are off the fairway even 2 or 3 yards, you are totally dead behind a tree. HOle 2 is an absolute joke. You have a drive down hill, to a fairway that is severely slopes to the left. On the left slide, you have trees all the way up the fairway, and the green is actually tucked behind those trees. It truly makes for almost an impossible shot, with no way you can have an approach to the hole. This continues to hold true on a lot of the holes. Trees that block the approach, and hang over half the green.Random trees in the middle of the fairway, trees that block tee shots. THe layout could be good, but for an amateur, the amount of trees make it completely unforgiving.

Please do yourself a favor and either save your money or spend a few extra dollars to play at a respectable course. The Fox course is by far the most poorly maintained course in the entire Pittsburgh area. For those of you familiar with North Pittsburgh golf, it is even worse than Rose Ridge in late summer. The fairways are in terrible shape (divots and dirt patches everywhere), the hazards arent well maintained (high grass growing all around the bunkers) and the greens are not even playable (ant hills and bare patches everywhere). It is my understanding that they take better care of the championship course, but after I see how they take care of the Fox course, I will never be golfing there again.

This is one of my favorite courses Ive ever played. Definitely my favorite in the area. The course is just challenging enough to have fun while improving your game. The staff and owner are the best part as well. They have always been welcoming and relaxed. They also appreciate their regulars. Nice and relaxed bar and clubhouse. Course always in good conditions. Minor maintenance could help on the cart paths, but great people and golf course.

To the google user review from four months ago.... Id love to know how they went out of there way to make you feel welcome because in my experience they were as trashy as the course. Family owned for 60yrs as you say but they still havent figured out proper course management...maybe in another 60yrs theyll figure it out. Anyone reading this do yourself a favor and go to anyone of the multiple other courses within ten minutes drive.

Very impressed with the course and would highly recommend it to anyone. Gorgeous layout with some challenge to it. The staff was beyond friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. This course has been family owned for 60 years. Go out and enjoy it!!

Somebody buy a CHAINSAW !!!! Come on guys......SOOOO many over hanging trees !!! I knew "Sox" and he designed this course for "lefthanders". Cut the trees up from the ground and this course could be saved.....until then....Ill play elsewhere.

My boyfriend and I belong to this course. Greens are in good shape, some challenging holes. Great place to learn different golf shots. The owner is very nice and helpful. You wont find many better courses for the money!

Great course for a 100+ golfer like me. We walked 9 in the summer heat but there were no water coolers on the course. Course was pretty empty and needed aeration but a lot of fun.

Pittsburgh North is a great course. Its challenging being in such a natural state for a golf course. It has a relaxing bar and great staff to hang with.

Very well maintained. Interesting layout. Make sure you pay attention to where the next hole is because they have an intersecting 9 hole course there.

I would avoid this course at all costs. The course is not in good shape and to make things worse the people you have to deal with are rude.

Great course for all levels. It gives a mix of holes to give your game a great test. Along with water and sand to challenge your game.

One of the nicest golf owners around. Makes you feel welcome. The course has some quirks, but is not bad to play.
