While waiting in line, for popcorn, the old man security guard came up, from behind me, and grabbed the upper right side of my butt. I spun around and knocked his hand away, asking him what his problem was. He said I was carrying a gun. I told him that I wasnt and went on my way. He jept demanding that i let hims see what was under my shirt. I told him that it was none of his business. He said he was going to call the cops. I told him to go for it and went into the movie, with my wife. Some guy in a suit came in and watched me and my wife, during the previews and beginning of the film, until the police arrived. I was asked to come out and the cops kept asking to see what was under my shirt. I asked if they were detaining me on suspicion of committing a crime (something carrying a weapon into Harkins is NOT, btw, all they can do is charge you with trespassing, but since they had sold me a ticket, good luck with that one), and I had one of the officers grab my arm and push me against the wall, where he frisked me and found my "weapon"...MY WALLET. Bet they felt stupid. They sure looked stupid. Videod the whole thing, too. Assaulted by their ancient security guard, a cop and I STILL got kicked out, with refund. I would recommend going AMC, as they tend not to touch/assault people, have way better seats AND you can reserve seats.

My sisters and I wanted to watch a movie, we went ahead and had tickets purchased within 2 mins by a person in the ticket booth at this location. The movie theatre associate that sold us the tickets was polite and courteous. After walking in I noticed that the huge screen that plays movie trailers for movie watchers to view was not working. I asked why there was nothing playing on the screen and was informed by a ticket attendant that it had not been on for couple months and unsure when the lens for the screen would be repaired. While looking at what to order from the concession stand for 5 mins, a very nice associate offered to assist whoever was next which meant us as we were the only ones in line after she got done cleaning while 4 other team members were huddled and busy talking amongst themselves. Overall this place was a 3 star rating for me as the pricing of tickets and concession stand items were reasonable, the place was clean and the movie theatre was in a convenient location.

With outrage words rang out during the movie Amerigeddon, "THOSE TWO ARE BEING LOUD," he said to some staff. Then threw the movie he spoke loud as though he was at home, movie viewers were shaken, and became afraid, making comments like what if he has a gun, these clear comments brought terror to all which were sitting around the outraged individual. We were sitting a few seats in front and wondered why the staff did not remove him because clearly they could see him yet just watched. My family and I were shaken and alarmed not knowing if this outraged man just came to the movie theater to shoot somebody who dared to stand up to him, the terrifying feeling of not even being able to clear your throat for fear it would set him off. The chill off what will happen after the movie will he start to shoot at people out outrage and though nobody could know if the outraged man had a gun the chill of not knowing made the terrorizing experience of extreme fear.

This is our favorite movie theatre. They usually have enough employees there to allow you to move along quickly to the goal of watching the movie. Parking is sufficient, the food/drink staff are friendly and quick to serve, the theatre cleanup crew is efficient and friendly. I am amazed and disappointed at how many movie goers leave a mess. Stop being slobs!! Picking a good line does at the food/drink counter does help, it seems that some of the patrons are buying for more than one person each and that adds to the wait. Also skip the ICE and you get more drink in your cup! We usually get the annual shirt and cup deal for free popcorn and cheap drinks. It does pay for itself, look for package deals on them in December. I like checking out the posters of coming movies that are in the lobby and outside the building. Of course they are advertising but you might as well take a look and see if something grabs your attention.

This theatre is in a popular area for dining: either sit-down or drive-thru eating that is not too upscale. If you want higher-end atmosphere, then visit Tatum and the 101 or Scottsdale proper. The Harkins Theatre is getting on in years, and the parking can be congested during peak hours. The premium seating areas in each theatre show the most wear-and-tear (such as the center seats directly behind the main walkway). The theatre is decently clean, but definitely showing its age. Renovating it as a whole could potentially improve all of the P83 area. The best thing about this theatre is its location and proximity to restaurant venues and bars. From In-N-Out Burger on the corner of 83rd and Bell, to Texas Roadhouse across the street from the theatre (one of the better, more reasonably-priced steak houses in all of Phoenix).

This is my go-to movie theater. Its surrounded by tons of great restaurant choices, thus its great for a date night. I also love the water misters at the ticket area, ideal for a hot Phoenix day, as well as the two automated ticket machines. I have no idea why people stand in line for ten minutes while I zip through and grab my tickets at the automated machine, but hey, more power to them. :) I am addicted to the cinnamon butter pretzel served at the concessions counter. As for the theater, Ive always been able to get a great seat and the reclining seats are a plus. Video and sound quality in the theater is always top notch as well. This is one of the best theaters in the area, great for anyone living in northwest Phoenix.

Took a large group of mostly kids to see a movie. We got there quite early and found seats near the front. I pulled out my phone for a moment to snap a quick picture of my kids about 10 minutes before the movie started. I was quickly approached by a female usher. I absolutely could not believe how rude she was to me. The tone and the attitude she had as she demanded I put away my phone was ridiculous. I do not appreciate being spoken to as if I am some degenerate, especially in front of my children. I will drive a few extra miles and go to a different theater from now on

As far as being a Harkins Theaters, they do well. The staff is friendly when you walk up to the ticket counter, and it continues up to when you have hand your tickets to get checked. The theaters are clean and the atmosphere in the theater is nice. Ive had a couple concession stand cashiers give me a hard time or they just were in a bad mood that night. Overall this is a good theater. Whats great is that the location is near to several restaurants so if youre hungry before or after, there are many different options to go and eat afterwards.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THESE PEOPLE! TRIED TO TAKE OUR SON TO SEE AVENGERS AND GET KICKED OUT! BECAUSE MY SON WAS BEING "DISRUPTIVE" BUT NO ONE COULD TELL ME WHAT HE WAS DOING! WE SPEND TONS OF MONEY AT THIS LOCATION TOO! NEVER AGAIN! WAY TO ACKNOWLEDGE ALL COMPLAINTS! NOT ONE PERSON IN THE THEATER SAID HE WAS A PROBLEM! AWESOME JOB RUINING A GREAT NIGHT AND A REWARD FOR OUR SON! THE KIDS BEHIND THE COUNTER RUN A BETTER BUSINESS THAN THESE MANAGERS!
