Decided to try Harkins theatre this weekend to watch Finding Dory with my husband and 3 kids. We bought our tickets for the 3D version. Got in line to buy popcorn and drinks, 3 people were ahead of us after 10 minutes of waiting only one person was served, the girl behind the register was just dragging getting the drinks and popcorn so I moved over to the line next to ours because it also had 2 people ahead of us, same thing the guy behind that register was also taking his time. Thats when I noticed that every time those two workers got close to each other they would start up a conversation laughing and taking thier time like the theater wasnt busy. So I moved lines again because the guy at the end was handling his business. I finally got my order looked over at the other 2 lines I was at same people still waiting, and the 2 workers laughing it up at the popcorn machine. Half way through the movie a kid starts crying after about 15 minutes the parents Finally stepped outside. I usually go watch my movies at the other big theater chain, but I thought to give Harkins a try because it so close to my house. I think the 25 minute drive to the other theater is worth the better service.

I love Harkins theaters. I always choose Harkins over AMC however, I would choose a dollar theater over this particular location. On a Friday afternoon my wife, her little sister, and I went to see the new minions movie. Not a great movie either, but thats a different story. The floor was covered in trash. There was stains on the carpets and the concession stands were covered in a sticky substance. The staff was slow at getting our order together and they didnt say more than two words to us. No one smiled. I got a strong impression that even the employees didnt want to be there. When we finally got to our seats we found them covered in the remnants of the last groups trash. Popcorn, candy wrappers, and half eaten bags of popcorn were left in the seats. If it werent for my wifes little sister we would have left. I will never return to this location. Take the extra time to travel to another Harkins.

You cant get through to a live person then you call the main number. The give you another number for listing and times for movies. What if your driving and dont have a pen to right the number down? And they dont repeat the number twice so if you dont get it the first time you need to keep calling back until you piece together the number. I think it lacks professional structure on marketing what Sherlock came up with the idea, to have a different phone number for listing and timing for the movies??..Just bcauz of this Im going to another theatre bcauz it makes me suspicious & I feel like my experience. Will not b a professional one and this would have been my first time going to the theatre. And the way there phone is set up its a turn off and a no go for me...I will drive to Scottsdale instead to see a movie...

Great place for date night with my daughters although they always win in the movie selection! ha If you have little ones and are going for adult date night, this Harkins has a child watch area the lil ones really seem to enjoy. They get their own little version of the movie experience but seem to get better seating with laying on the floor! All sorts of food, drinks and snacks to fill your movie appetite; no booze though which makes complete sense. I see some theatres are adding booze/mini bar areas to their locations but what is the point of it?! Get wasted at the movies does not really sound like a great idea for fun or a date. Keep doing how youre doing Harkins! The staff has always been professional and courteous, thanking/appreciating your business.

This is the best movie theater west of the Mississippi!! It is clean, friendly, and a super value!! I have the T-shirt and cup so it is even a better value...What more could you ask for in a movie theater??!! My daughter received free tickets from a friend to AMC so we went. Charges more to get in, the prices at the concession stand were outrageous, and they do not even have the lemon packets or popcorn flavorings that Harkins offers for FREE!! We will never go back there even with free tickets!! We love going to movies, especially with these hot summer days in Phoenix, and we will continue to enjoy going to Harkins Gateway Pavilion 18!! Dirty, kids, tweens, babies, and just ghetto people everywhere! Not sure why this is the go to theatre for the worst people. Always a heckler in the audience, crying babies or disrespectful tweens acting up being loud and obnoxious, outside same thing. I will drive anywhere to avoid all this. Im hoping the new Harkins by my home doesnt attract all of these types, I will complain and get refunded until it stops! Its kind like going to the fair and having all these crazy people around you, they should play circus music.People need to start complaining, I cant believe people just sit there and deal with it. I have no choice but to give one star.

It would be nice if staff made it VERY CLEAR NO TXTING or use of cellphone when IN the theater...Theres nothing like sitting for 15 minutes or so watching the "commercials" and some joker in front of you has their phone BRIGHT screen glaring at you or talking as if nobody is around... HEY PEOPLE... if you want to talk.... go OUTSIDE of the movie theater... Its a word that some people dont understand,,,, its called consideration for others & NOT being self centered. Makes me think twice about coming out to the movies... I ACTUALLY think its BETTER to rent at redbox... and have no "jerks" sitting in front.

It is usually a great service, however tonight (Thursday), my fiancé and I have went to watch everything is everything and the only other people in the theater were teenagers. Right when they came in they were loud and obnoxious so I went to the manager she came in told them to be quiet or they will leave they laughed at her and kept doing it.throughout the movie they talked, took pictures or whatever with flash and kept kicking the seats and running through the theater.the manager came in twice and still didnt do anything worse service.we wouldve left but we really wanted to watch this movie.

i had came to visit from california for a visit to see my cousin and i had come to enjoy a movie and i had bought a box of dibs and we went to see doctor strange. i found my seat and i left my dibs in the cup holder of my seat along with my cousin. when i came back my dibs were in the hands of some white guy giving it to his kids knowing they were mine because he saw me getting angry. i was having a good day until that happened and i didnt get to enjoy my movie because i didnt have my dibs and i heard sexuall stuff going on on the left side by some people!! thank you very much!!

I just went to take my 3 kids to watch finding dory and I experienced the same problems everyone else is experiencing. Bad customer service at the registers these teenagers think that we have all day to wait on them.i dont like that they take their time to serve us and sometimes even not acknowledge us. I had to sit in the front row because the people behind us kept hitting our chairs and making too much noise for us to even hear the movie. I will not take my family there again I would rather drive to an AMC theatre and enjoy a good movie and be treated with respect there.
