This is one of the worst movie theaters Ive ever been to. In fact, since I moved to AZ Ive had nothing but problems with every theater Ive gone to. This takes second place. Ive been going to the movies about every other week since the beginning of February. The IMAX theater has projector problems for the pre-show constantly. Not that big of a deal, but annoying. The seats are horrible. The 3D glasses are poorly taken care of and have spots or scratches all over them. I had to take a few pairs back before he wouldnt give me anymore because his excuse was "Thats how they all are!" and he wouldnt do anything about it. Movies cost $4 more here and the entire theater quality is WORSE! Their normal theaters have severe sound quality issues, as well as the screen being way too dark for a 3D movie. They have EXIT signs behind the Acoustically Transparent Screen, which is see-through, so the entire movie has a green light on either side, lighting up the screen. Every movie Ive watched in AZ has been a very good example as to why the theater industry is failing in any way shape or form. Absolutely pathetic examples of what movie theaters are supposed to be. AMC and Harkins theaters need to step it up, in a major way. They should also learn when to stop recycling glasses... And what Reference Level sound is... Not what too quiet is. It was honestly a shock to find out about how poor quality the of the theaters are. If anyone does not think these places suck, its pretty obvious theyve either been to worse, dont care, or dont know any different. If youve been to worse it doesnt mean these arent bad. Reviews arent for people who dont care. Reviews aret exactly for people who dont know any better because you have nothing to compare.

So I decide to take myself to the movies on 6-17-16. I hadnt been to a theater in YEARS. My ticket $8.51, one hotdog, large popcorn & large soda $20.52! RIDICULOUS!! So I took my half eaten popcorn tub to the lobby to bless a couple with the free refill. Upon returning home, my stomach began to ache so I thought I could sleep it off. When I woke early Saturday morning, it was still aching & making loud gurgling sounds. Afraid to eat,I just drank cups of warm tea. A few hours later, I felt very nauseous & ran to the restroom where I began sweating profusely & began my first of several diarrhea/vomiting episodes. Its 9pm, & I still have been unable to eat or stray far from the toilet! I dont know if it was the hotdog, imitation butter, germ/bacteria infested soda area or the undoubtedly less than satisfactorily safe & clean container that housed the jalapeño peppers. What I do know is that it will be many more years, if at all, that I visit a theater & especially not this one. I will be phoning them in the a.m., when Ive regained strength in my weakened body & I call hold a conversation without fear of having to drop the phone & run to the restroom. I also remembered another reason I stopped going, with the two teenaged females behind me chattering the entire movie & kicking my seat. After taking as much as I desired to take of it, I moved behind them & returned the kicking accommodations. I was not willing to miss one second, running & telling & had observed the NO REFUND policy that I used to take advantage of when total enjoyability was prohibited from being achieved for whatever reasons....ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK, is the only advice I can offer!!!!!

I had three awesome experiences with this theater. First, I took my wife and mom to see Avengers 2, we had great customer service at the counter. The theater was clean, organized and had a great ambiance. Second, after the first visit, I wanted to take my dad to see the Jurassic World but could not purchase the tickets online. I phoned in and a very courteous representative answered. She explained that they had not written the schedule yet and that I would have to wait...no problem. She spoke clearly and with patience. Third experience was a few minutes ago, my lame computer was taking forever to checkout. I had to phone in again and the rep "Kiley" was equally amicable and patient. She helped me purchase the tickets using her computer at the theater, she sent me a text confirmation within minutes and an email, she spoke clearly and directed me to the kiosk in the lobby to pickup the tickets the day of. 3 really good experiences with this theater is refreshing to have. Get those guys a raise because I will make this theater my IMAX experience when I am in Glendale. Happy to do business with good people.

My review is more centered on the Dolby Cinema at AMC Westgate since, after experiencing it, I cant force myself to see a movie any other way. Some might scoff at paying a couple of extra bucks to see the same movie, so all I can do is recommend at least trying it once. First, the seats. Those leather recliners are extremely roomy and comfortable, and the added pulsing during action sequences adds a lot of impact. Second, the screen/video quality is incredible. The images are lifelike, with incredible deep blacks, sharp colors, and a crazy level of brightness. Last, the audio. Oh man, the audio is good. The bass is really powerful, but not overpowering. The Atmos setup adds such an effect to the movie. Its loud but clear and makes the boundaries of the theater disappear. Look, I know I might have used a lot of superlatives to describe my experience, but theyre the words which came to my mind during the 3 movies Ive seen there. If you are looking for the ultimate movie going experience, then I highly recommend checking out the next blockbuster in the Dolby Cinema at AMC Westgate!

This theater used to be nice and clean a few years ago and now in 2015, this is place is THE MOST DISGUSTING theater my fiance and I have been to. She and i had been visiting this theater since 2010 almost every weekend. The restrooms were beyond filthy, disgusting, and messy. ALL of the employees seem to have been slacking for example they are not very friendly, they are rude, and dont seem to care if the customers get their food on time and it sits on behind them while it gets cold. We are absolutely disgusted by the clenlyness of the theater seating and area. The freestyle machines seem to ALWAYS have run out of almost all the flavors of drinks, and they taste awful. It seems they are using some sort of generic flavors. And last but not least, the prices keep going up, not a great thing to do if the theater is in horrible condition. AMC will no longer receive our business, and i am letting my friends know of how terrible this theater has become. I would strongly advise anybody to steer clear of this horrid theater.

Im not a big movie goer, mostly because I find it very hard to enjoy a night spent sitting in really uncomfortable chairs with someones big head in my face. But this AMC theater has been designed with extremely comfortable seating that is spaced in a way that prevents the inevitable head-bob typically associated with over-crowded theaters. Really, its true! You can see the movie without performing body gyrations! The building is magnificent. The attendants are polite. Theres always plenty of staff working the snack bar to keep the lines under control. The popcorn is kept hot and fresh. One complaint - the thermostats are set to icy cold. Bring a sweater and maybe even your mittens. Parking is abundant at Westgate but youll never catch me there on game day as traffic is a beast. There are dozens of places to enjoy a quick bite or a leisurely meal before or after the show including several fantastic spots for dessert. A fun experience for kids of all ages.
