While I have always found Fintique to be a wonderful place to buy fish (they have a great selection, staff is helpful and knowledgeable), I think their policy for zero refunds is ridiculous. I returned a vampire shrimp ($10) that died after two days. I knew from experience at Petco/Petsmart to bring in a sample of water to see if the loss was my fault. The folks at Fintique tested multiple vials of water, conducted a near-autopsy on the shrimp, and concluded I did nothing wrong. The water was up to specs, the shrimp had not been eaten on or hurt by the other fish; everything on my end of the deal was OK. But they still wouldnt give me a refund or store credit. The only explanation they would offer is "sometimes the fish dont adapt from going to our tanks to yours." If it were a two dollar fish, I probably wouldnt have bothered going back; but this shrimp cost ten bucks and lasted TWO DAYS. Their no return policy is listed way up by the ceiling behind the cash register and isnt very noticeable. They wasted my time by going through the motions of testing the water and investigating the shrimp when they clearly had no intention of turning this customer service situation around. Instead, I will now return to the big name stores because at least there I have some type of recourse if and when the fish dies. My nine-year old was very disappointed as he had used his money to purchase the shrimp and was just as surprised as I was when I came home empty-handed from Fintique due to their restrictive policies. Anyone going to Fintique should be aware that whatever money you shell out for your aquarium is a gamble that you may end up losing.

Ive been to petsmart, petco, and LFS. So far FINTIQUE is by far the best LFS hands down. There prices on fish and plants cant be beaten. Ive boughten fish from petco, and had them die on the way home from the store. Keep in mind the distance from the store to my home is 10mins. I did get a refund from petco. They checked my water quality, and determined it was there fault. So they gave me new fish. Later that same day 3 fish died again. I decided its PETCO, and no point in wasting time and money. I found FINTIQUE on the internet, and decided to give them a try. I was extremely happy with there stock in various products, fish, and plants. I am a FINTIQUE cust for life. This store is the best fish store in san antonio. I have 10 neon tetras, and 3 kuhli loaches that are doing very well in 29gallon tank. All fish were bought from fintique, and have had no problems. Staff is friendly, and they know what there talking about. My only suggestion to FINTIQUE is to maybe redo your web page. Your page dosent do your store justice. Maybe i could do it for you? Webpage for fish or something else :) lol, j/k.......kinda......maybe.

I notice that all the fish I buy from fintique die within a month, and on the other hand most of the fish Ive gotten from petsmart or petco and other LFS survive. I have fish that are 3 years or older from petco and petsmart,in the same aquariums I house my fintique fish in but the fin. fish always seem to die. The no return policy is enough to make me never return to fintique. The workers there are ok but that tall blonde lady always seems mad and non eager to assist. What kind of store allows the employes to buy all the merchandise before the customers even get a chance to see them let alone buy any? the prices are sometime lower the other stores, but its only because all the fish are so damn small, the smaller the cheaper its like they only import fry baby fry lol. Dont go to finlink unless you want dead fish, save you time and money and spend it elsewhere.

Horrible bought an arowana put it in my tank and it died 3 hours later it was just him and a frontosa and I watched him the whole 3hrs.. They dont have returns or anything, if this happened to your expensive fish wouldnt you be kind of pissed off ? They had the arowanas in a 20 gallon tank Thats way to small even for little arowanas I just wanted them to realize if that happened to there fish wouldnt they want the store to have a return policy so they could get a replacement or refund? Water levels ph ammonia and nitrates were perfect guess it was just a bad batch bc the other arowana in the other tank was dead.. I just want another arowana lol ..

Now that it looks like Ill be settling down in SA Ive gotten back into the hobby and have been looking for a good LFS. Overall this store is clean and well maintained. Ive been in a few times and have not noticed any dead or visibly diseased fish. Range of freshwater fish is good and the prices are really good on fish & plants. They update their inventory of fish and plants on their website as well, which is a nice touch. Staff are friendly and efficient. It was pretty busy when I was in there and they still got to me right away once I stopped in front of a tank. Despite the fact that others are closer, Im making this my go-to store for fish.

The variety of fish here are near perfect compared to most places here in San Antonio. The prices are great and the fish are healthy. Aquatic plants are in nice shape and theres a pretty good selection of aquarium products and deco. The staff dont just wait around for you to tap on their shoulder. Theyre friendly and make sure to help you find what it is youre looking for. Id definitely suggest you check this place out, its worth the stop. I live 19 minutes away and this is my choice of where to go. Dear staff youre doing a great job and if there was only one thing Id ask for is for a shipment of butterfly telescopes. Thats what I wanna see.

This place is amazing at finding fascinating and rare freshwater/brackish fish. They have recently started to foray more into saltwater, but Texas Tropical still has the best saltwater selection youll find. Fintiques fish prices and selection are second to none, and my wife and I now have 6 fish tanks to fit all the wonderful fish weve discovered there. In addition, Fintiques website is updated weekly with their new fish, which makes it easy to research fish before you buy them. Helpful service, inexpensive ornaments... there really couldnt be a better store!

We just started a tank and one of the workers at Pet Smart suggested that I get my fish from Fintique. I drove across town to check them out and the staff was excellent. They asked great questions about what I wanted and made excellent recommendations on what type of fish would be best based on what we were looking for. They also were very instructive on how to get a good start and maintain healthy fish. Im told the prices are good too, but honestly I didnt even consider that when I made my purchase...

I started to go to Fintique a couple of years ago after moving into a house with a pond. They not only helped me early on save some fish due to simple water conditioning issues, but have continued to help me stock my pond with healthy great looking fish. As another user pointed out, they are the best in SA for freshwater fish. The staff knows their stuff and are always willing to help. If I had to complain, it would be that they should stock higher grade (AAA) Koi.
