Maybe Im biased as a local but this little theater is a rare blessing to the town of Luray. As opposed to the numerous cineplexes where Ive had to sit through sometimes 15 to 30 minutes worth of advertisements (most of which were not movie trailers but Coke and candy products) before a film, the longest Ive ever had to sit through trailers (no ads!) here has been no more than 5 to 10 minutes. Rather than dragging you through commercialization this theater focuses on the most important aspect to movies; entertaining you. Theres a genuine charm to this theater the cineplexes lack and its only gotten better with age. Over the years its gained new screens, new sound systems, new seats, and some of the theaters are even decorated with different, quirky themes (Ancient Egyptian, Medieval Knights, etc). Granted the screens are small compared to the cineplexes but that only adds to their appeal. Plus youll find most of us locals prefer the small, chilled atmosphere as opposed to the rushed, obnoxious, and unpredictable characters you may occasionally encounter at larger theaters who may interfere with your viewing experience. The biggest complaint Ive heard regarding this theater is the customer service. Yes, the old gentleman may be a little curt but cut him some slack as he is the sole driving force behind this entire operation. He hires mainly local high school kids to run the refreshments and ticket counters while he has to flip on all the projections and make sure everything is in working order. Also be sure to bring cash with you as credit cards are not accepted. If you havent got any on you theres an ATM just behnd the BB&T Performing Arts Center.

This place is an absolute GEM. Hidden along the side street of the small, quiet town of Luray, its like something out of a movie itself. Its very old, but well maintained and the staff is wonderful. They are very helpful and know lots about the theatre and are willing to share with anyone willing to listen. They earn every donation they get. There is something to behold anywhere you set your eyes. The atmosphere is wonderful, like decades of only the best memories and fun are clinging to the walls. The strange and unique Egyptian statues and the Art Deco color schemes are so beautiful and well-kept. It makes you feel like going to the movies is SPECIAL again. There are all manner of snacks to be purchased; new and older varieties of goodies. Our popcorn was perfect, not too salty and not stale. The seats are quite old and squeak a bit, but this is quite possibly the CLEANEST theatre I have ever been inside of. My ten-year old LOVED it. He was in awe of the place and asks to go back quite often. We have to drive a ways to attend a show, but we make a day of it when we do. There is a lovely little park nearby where we can walk and burn energy and the town has cute little shops and restaurants right along the main street near the theatre. Its wonderful and I hope more people check it out and donate for its upkeep.

I drove 1 1/2 hours to see a movie that is advertised at this theater. The movie was not playing locally so I web searched and found this theater. In addition, I called Sprint information who also gave me the movie listings and times. I called the theater in advance and got a recording and the movie listing and time were announced as well. As of today, 1 week later, the movie is still listed here and IS NOT being played at the theater. After driving 1 1/2 hours to the theater to find that movies and showtimes were different or not even being played at all, I left a message requesting a return call to discuss this issue and have yet to get a return call. Too small, over-priced, not exactly the cleanest and dont go with a plan to see a specific movie because I doubt it will be playing. Customer service sucks as well. Not worth 1 star !!

Just a TERRIFIC movie theater!! People from nearby towns come here, too. Seven screens, and the owner keeps the place absolutely pristine. Hooray for our small town to have such an excellent cinema -- sure, some complain that the screens arent huge and there isnt the new 3-D, but still, you just cant beat it. Friends in the city are amazed at the much more reasonable ticket prices, too!

Having a theatre so close to home is such a blessing. Its always very clean and cheaper than regal. Why run an hour away when its more expensive, and the same movies available right here close to home. The owner has remodeled and done great things for us to be able to have a theatre here locally. Please support him and our theatre by going in for a movie and popcorn. You wont be disappointed.

Ive been coming here more than 40 years. Its perfect for a reasonably priced movie night. Okay, the actual halls and screens are small relative to a Cineplex. However, the place exudes charm, has no lines, and feels museum like. Check out the painted murals on the ceiling! Who cares if its cash only!? Come prepared, and its no problem.

Small stylish and very cute movie theaters. Seats kinda tight for a long movie. But my family and I had a good time, no cards accepted just cash. I wont mind going back again, but for short movies. And very clean and neat.

Lovely old theater in a great small town in Virginia. Kudos to the Page owners for showing independent and foreign films when no other theater within an hours drive is willing to take the risk. We will definitely return!

For a small town its nice. Cant give it a 5 because there was a hole in the screen on theater 3, and the nachos were stale. Still a 4 because hey, its cheap to see a movie and its never overly packed. Nice experience!

My husband and I love the theater, its atmosphere, and the entire setting. It is very inexpensive and has a small town feel with a nicely decorated movie theater. We go whenever we are in town. We recommend it to all.

Beautiful theatre! We are visiting from out of town and we are so glad we decided to catch a movie here. It is cash only, so dont forget to hit the ATM. I wish we had something like this where we live!

Good lil theater, prices support a local business , and no lines. Sound is ok, screens are smaller then the jumbotrons at big time theaters but when only 5 min from house, not bad.

Really good movie theater run by locals. It is a cash only theater so be sure to have some on hand, otherwise theres an ATM a short walk near the main intersection.

No credit cards, no checks, no cell or pagers *allowed* in the building, no children of a given age. Guess what? No business from me or my family either.

Its close to home and the people are always friendly. When ever I go there it is like going to a small museum with all of the beautiful decorations.
