Positive note: the bar itself is aesthetically gorgeous. However, Wouldnt return or recommend. We stopped in for a quick growler fill. There was no-one there on a Friday night at 7:30. I asked for samples and learned AFTER receiving them that were served but there was a charge. I am new to the state, coming from a place out west where you simply arent charged for a taste. In a rare occurrence you are its mentioned before you buy something. WE got two samples of bland beer that lacked depth & flavor. On our bill we were charged for 3 - the bartender didnt know how to adjust and there was no manager there so she just gave us another sample. Not what I had in mind given i didnt even want to pay for samples anyway. Overall we ended up paying $4.50 for 12 ounces of beer. A pint is 16 so we mine as well have ordered a whole one for that price. Lastly, after ordering a beer for our growler fill I noticed it wasnt filled-up all the way. I kindly asked her to fill it with the correct amount and again the bartender was very nice BUT when I got home it still wasnt filled to the correct amount. So at the end of the day I was charged for an amount of beer that I didnt get and ended up buying way more of their low-quality craft brew that ever wanted to drink anyways. Ive bartended for a good while and that was embarrassing service service for having 2/6 customers when we finally left 30 minutes later. I just wanted to get out of there!

I used to love this place but its obviously they sold out and the new management is not doing a good job. Ive had some problems the last couple of visits but this time, Ill just find someplace better to go to there are new and better places just like this in Fredericksburg now. We made a reservation for a group. Probably should have been told some loud annoying DJ would be there blasting 80s music to the point you had to scream to the person next to you to be heard. Obviously just a desperate gimic for more business but instead it just attracted weird mid-life crisis crowd who love to drink and side step back and forth to Billy Joel. As well as lose whatever risidual hearing they have left. We moved outside, after asking them if they could atleast lower it to the point of tolerance, and they wouldnt. Of course immediately had our beers covered in flies, no fans outside. On top of that half our orders came out 20 mins apart and two of our members didnt even get theirs. After trying to track them down we eventually just had to wait longer and get their orders ro go because it had been two hours by then and we were being eaten up by mosquitos outside. We will officially not be going back anymore. Its sad, if they keep this going they will just be another failed business eventually. Had a great thing, and ruined it.

Blue & Gray is now Adventure Brewing Co. South, so Google should probably update their info to reflect this change. With that out of the way, we are doing a bit of traveling this week and made a stop in Fredericksburg, VA. Adventure Brewing is somewhat hidden in the middle of what Im guessing was an abandoned industrial park currently in the process of getting revitalized (aka its a neat aesthetic!). We were very surprised when we walked in to see how unique and beautiful the building was, with some original structures from Blue & Gray as well as the current trendy industrial vibe. The eating and bar area are very spacious. We are from a city and have been to numerous spaces up north with a similar style, but never such a nice, big open space like this. The pineapple beer infusions were great! and all of our food was as well. You seriously cant beat the half off app prices during happy hour -- this was by far the biggest cheese tray Ive ever seen and it was only $5 (probably would easily be 25 in the city). Overall, highly recommended and we hope to stop again if Fredericksburg comes across in our travels :)

My husband wanted to go to Blue and Gray for his b-day. I was a bit hesitant, since it is a hike for us to drive to Fredericksburg. I was even more hesitant when we pulled into a parking lot in the middle of nowhere and entered what looked like a warehouse. But my opinion changed almost immediately! The brewer, Madison, was great! He took us on a tour of the brew room and was genuinely excited we were there and he was happy to answer our questions. He let us sample all of the beers and even bought my hubby a pint for his birthday! We then ate at the bar and ordered beer and appetizers. The cheesey chicken wings and pretzel fingers were awesome! I am really sad this place is not closer, because I think this would definitely be a new watering hole for us! I am a wine drinker myself, but most wineries I have been to are not even this attentive. We will definitely be back! We cant wait to bring our friends next time :)

Excellent beer and friendly staff! The brewery store was hard to find but the trek was worth it! The door where they sell the beer is around the corner from the restaurant and I believe the fourth door on the left (a paper sign was posted on the door with the hours on it). I didnt visit the restaurant but just went to buy some beer. Free tastings, which confirmed how much I like their beer, and they bottled the beer in front of me. The staff was friendly and talkative and the prices were lower than the other places in town that sell the beer. I will be visiting this place again to buy more beer and will suggest that my friends visit this place too.

Was a great, casual, no bs brewery. Jeff ran the place and always made quarter kegs of their delicious beers available to me with a phone call and subsequent visit. The price was lower than what I could get at Total Wine for the same quantity of Budweiser. Been buying kegs their for about five years. According to one of the brewers, Blue and Gray didnt "change with the times" and was purchased by Adventure brewery. Gone are the quarter kegs and in are the new beers and high prices. Sorry to see Blue and Gray go. Will not be buying their again.

Jeff Fitzpatrick ran this place into the ground. There was so much potential here but poor management put an end to that. I can site several times when Jeff and Lori let us down including our wedding reception which was held at B&G. My mother bought me a gift certificate here just a few months ago which Jeff conveniently lost. He promised to mail it time and time again. Now the Brewery has been sold and still no gift card. I do not see myself returning to this establishment even though it has been sold.

We wanted to try this restaurant for a while. It was hard to find. No signage on the building. We walked in, seated ourselves as directed by the sign and sat down. There was a bartender who may or may not have bothered to look up from his conversation with the two patrons that were there. We looked at a copied piece of paper posing as a menu. We stayed just long enough to have not been greeted, read our paper menu and descided to spend our money somewhere else. Dont worry, well spread the word.
