Small but excellent selection of French wines, a few other wine regions are represented, and the Boxwood Wine label. Boxwood wine comes from vines planted in 2001 or 2002; Wines are very young but show potential 9think 10-15 years from now). Service is below average. You have to go to the bar to get a glass of water or to get it re-filled (water is served in a wine glass which is tacky). They dont provide napkins when you get glasses of wine, water, or a plate of food - you have to specifically ask. The 2 cheese trays they offer have good food but they provide no individual plates or silverware. So you and your guest(s) are essentially eating out of a trough with your fingers. Of course they bring the cheese tray to your table with no napkins. Its pretty pathetic. Servers need polish!

The two ladies representing the establishment were not my cup of tea -which is fine as I am there to enjoy dinner, wine and great friends. From the moment we arrived the service was horrible! The end of the evening went totally south when a girlfriends wallet went missing. After 20 min of searching and asking everyone while climbing under tables and chairs it was decided to file a police report as we were told there are Internet cameras. Once we began to dial the number the waitress/bartender pulls the wallet out from the bar. Sad and horrible experience at this establishment as I am sure the owners spent time, effort and money to build such a venue!

I stop at The Tasting Room a couple of times a week on my way home from work and have tried every wine they carry. The selection is outstanding representing a wide variety of types and regions. While I do have my favorites, Ive never been disappointed. In particular, I like the Caymus. (Yes, they have it by the glass, now!) and recommend it highly. The servers are friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable (especially the Friday night crew)! They have a half-price bottle night on Wednesday and listening to the live music on Saturday nights over a bottle of wine is a great way to spend the evening. I love this place.

I stopped in for a glass of wine and was served in a relatively prompt fashion. When it came time for a second glass, the two bartenders never even bothered to look in my direction. I have never left a restaurant without leaving a tip but, in the face of their awful service, I did in this case. Im not proud of this action but to do otherwise would have condoned their poor service. When in Reston my advice is to look elsewhere. Jack U. Minneapolis, MN

Needs Reworking! I like the availability of a wine bar in Reston Town Center. However I agree that The Tasting Rooms decor leaves MUCH to be desired. When I think of a wine bar, I want rustic and comfortable and approachable. This place is sterile and cold. And the small amount of food available is unimaginative and paltry, though what they do offer tastes good. Perhaps with a bit of re-tooling, this could be a fantastic little spot.

The Tasting Room is a beautiful and wonderful place to have a glass of wine. The staff is friendly and accommodating to anything you need. They have happy hour specials, half price bottle night, and live music on Saturday evenings as well as a nice patio that is perfect for relaxing outside. The food menu is full of delicious cheese plates, paninis and snacks.

While the wine pouring machine is a great technical piece and something to look at in awe, it is so impersonal that it actually detracts from the experience. The tasting room actually turned us off for the whole Boxwood Estate. After being to the tasting room, we had no interest in ever visiting Boxwood or purchasing their wines.

Only California Cabernet they had was from Lodi. No Napa region Cabernet Sauvignon? Focus is on variety, not quality. Wines from around the "Lodis" of the world. No offense to Lodi intended.
