Today we took my mom to Leesburg to visit local wineries and to have lunch there. Earlier this summer we visited Lost Creek Winery and Tarara Winery and we liked Lost Creek so much that this time we returned to visit Lost Creek and its sister company Hidden Brook Winery. While Lost Creek has all of the ambiance and romantic flare that you could ask for in a winery, Hidden Brook has a lively feel without being overrun by crowds. There were a great variety of wines and the owner, Debbie, treated us like gold. We also happened to visit on the day that a great British musician was serenading the crowd while strumming his guitar. Though we had treated Mom to bottles of wine earlier in the day, when I looked, she had bought several bottles of wine and wine glasses from Hidden Brook, and then she went back to purchase accessories to go with the wine. We all left for lunch feeling that we had experienced something special by visiting Hidden Brook.

VA is not known for fabulous wine, but there are some quite drinkable bottles around the state. Hidden Brook, on the other hand, almost forced my hand at demanding a return of my tasting fee before finishing the list. Overly sweet wine that is equivalent to fermented Juicy Juice is what I would use to describe these wines. Boones Farm and others of the like are less objectionable. The rest of the experience was above average, but I expected a wine of a certain level of taste, especially considering the highly superior wines at Lost Creek, just next door. Dont waste your time. Just travel down the road to either Lost Creek or Tarara.

This winery has a nice cozy feeling when you go in. Its very much a log cabin in the woods and they even offer a selection of board games for you to play while you sip your wine. I took off one star for this one because there werent many standout wines last time I stopped in. The Chambourcin was probably my favorite as it had a nice mustard seed flavor to it (sounds weird but it was delicious). They had a Rose the year prior that apparently used the Chambourcin and it had been the favorite wine of the day (out of 5 wineries). They used a different recipe though last time I went in :(

Went to Hidden Brook a few days ago and the service was excellent. They have a very nice Cab Sauv. Its very light, dry, and full of flavor. I also really enjoyed the Merlot, even though Im not typically a Merlot drinker. They had a number of sweeter wines as well, my favorite was probably their Rose. I also had a dessert wine that was surprisingly tasty called Sweet Amber, which is made from Chambourcin and it was awesome. I had a very nice time!

Absolutely loved the place. Very warm and welcoming staff. Cute and cozy log cabin setting. OUTSTANDING wines. Favorites were the Chardonnay, 2010 Cab Sauv and their brand new Chambourcin which the lady doing our tasting let us have a sneak peek of. Kudos to that! Even though some of the reviews here (5+ years old) say otherwise, Hidden Brook def knows what theyre doing these days.

I liked this winery, but did not love it. They had live music outside, which was fun, but not a lot of seating near the music. Most of the whites were a little sweet for my taste. However, the chambourcin was really interesting. The tasting room is a little sparse, but the staff were very nice and accommodating.

The service was good and the atmosphere fine, but the wines were objectionable (Im being nice). Almost all were overly sweet and crafted by inexperienced hands. If you like really sweet wines then stop and have a tasting ($5) otherwise drive another 4 minutes to some great wineries.

I must agree with the person who said the wines are objectionable. I live near by and have been to Hidden Brook on two different years and the wines are poor. Sorry!
