Overall I enjoy going to this theater. I like the seating, especially the ability to reserve ahead of time. I always hated having to get to a theater hours early to get a good seat! The popcorn is fresh and the people serving it usually seem like they like their job at least a LITTLE more than the people that work at other theaters. I love the seats and the space between rows... My daughter is VERY small and has trouble seeing at other theaters. The seats elsewhere also seem to flip up on her because shes too light. The seats here dont do that and are super comfortable. I had been going to this theater exclusively for some time, until I had an unfortunate experience with management. My son asked if he could have a movie theater birthday party at THIS theater, since a good looking kids movie came out just after his birthday. I promised to look into it. I looked online at THIS location under birthdays, and there was a bunch of information about packages and extras available (a birthday pack that includes admission and a kids pack, the option to add pizza, the birthday kid gets in free, etc.). It said to email for pricing information... So I did. The response I got from management was pathetic. It stated that this location doesnt offer any birthday packages and then included some standard blurbs about how the theater has reclining seats and awesome screens. Whoever wrote it simply signed it management, so of course I dont even know who was so inconsiderate. I replied and pointed out the information on the website and suggested that if they like having customers they may want to be a bit kinder and more considerate. Here I was a mom trying to plan a birthday party for my child at their favorite theater and they cant even be nice enough to offer me some alternatives or suggestions! (Perhaps holding a certain number of seats at the showing I want for 24 hours after they go on sale, then releasing them if I dont confirm/pay?) Its especially rude considering the extremely misleading information available online. I cant imagine Im the first person to come to them with this type of request. If they treated the other people in the same manner, Im guessing theyve lost more than a few customers because of this. They never even bothered replying to my second email. Im searching for a new theater, but admittedly I well continue going here until I find one thats as comfortable and that my kids like as much. Ill just be avoiding dealing with their management until then.

This theatre is slowly becoming a garbage dump. I recognize this is a strong statement, and that is honestly the truth. The theatre is run by teenagers who dont understand customer service, they are on their phones in plain sight. The managers are quite useless as well, they are impossible to talk to while you are at the theatre. Weve had multiple issues with the seating, they were disgusting seats. The armrest was broken, an entire cup holder was missing. So, we complain they give us free passes. We used those passes, and the SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN! completely different auditorium in the same theatre complex. Surely, its a fluke? Right? I had an extensive conversation with the General Manager via email, she was "helpful" (cookie cutter responses, and no reply to one email I sent weeks ago.) They mail us courtesy tickets, my wife takes our nieces and nephews to see The Secret Life Of Pets... Today... And again... They get stuck with a seat that was falling apart, they tried contacting a manager to see if there were seats open in another theatre, completely useless, no one helped them. I candidly had a conversation with a manager on staff, and she claims that the $5 Tuesday/Thursday promotions draw in "hoodrats" and "unsavory types", which is why the theatre is in such a poor state. I wouldnt recommend going to this theatre, save your money, go else where if youd like to enjoy your movie experience. Everyone loves the recliners, we get it, but youll sacrifice a huge portion of your experience by going to The Addison Marcus. If anyone with a negative review would like help contact @greglovesmovies, one of his minions will contact you promptly.

We had a really bad experience! We were in the the movie theater room 8 sitting on the last row and there was a really bad smell coming from the back area. It smelled like there was a dead animal. It was horrible. We though there must of been food left behind the seat and it must of rotten. The smell kept getting worst so i decided to pull out my phone and took a picture to see what it was and it was a mouse trap. There was a dead mouse. It smelled horrible. Who knows how long it had been there cause the smell was bad. I got up and went to speak with someone in box office and spend about 15 minutes of the movie waiting to speak with someone. I ask them to clean that up. The guy that i spoke with was rude and he did not even aplologize for it. He told me he would get someone to go clean it up and told us to move our seats. We went back into the show and about 10 minutes later a guy came in and walked around and walked back out. Didnt even clean it. That is very disgusting! If you know you have put out mouse traps have someone check on them dont just leave them for days til it starts smelling. Its so upsetting when you pay good money to go watch a show and on top you have to deal with all that.

Ive been going to Marcus in Addison since they opened when I was a teenager. 12 or some odd years later, its become quite the powerhouse for a movie going experience. Not only do they have state of the art screens and technology, but all seating is comfortable leather electronic recliners with the option of adjoining seats turning into love seats with the simple raise of an arm rest. Makes movie date nights much more enjoyable since the old days when you were jabbed in the ribs by a hard plastic and metal arm rest when you tried to put your arm around your date. They offer all the standard snacks you can ask for such as popcorn, nachos, and candy, but you can get just about anything you want with their full service kitchen which serves anything from pizza and hot dogs to cheeseburgers, sandwiches, and wraps. They just recently built a full service Bar and seating area so you can do some pre- or post-movie drinking, or bring a cocktail or two in with you to the movie. Its all pricey, but what movie going experience isnt these days? If I had all the money in the world, Id come to Marcus to see a movie twice a week.

The Marcus Theater is USUALLY awesome. Ive been going there for years and years and have enjoyed the service, snacks, and shows. They were one of the first in the area (if not, THE first) to reinvent the way people see movies in theaters with spacious reclining leather seats that make you feel right at home. Overall, this theater is great, and with the addition of $5 Tuesdays and $5 Student Thursdays, you cant beat the value. HOWEVER, last time I was there, there was popcorn ALL over the seats. The kids they had cleaning the theater did a HORRIBLE job and essentially made us have to get napkins to wipe off the seats themselves. There was also a gaping hole in the head rest for my reclining chair. This experience was NOT typical, but it happened, it is probably mostly due to the teenagers who havent figured out how rewarding it can be to work hard- so I do not ultimately hold the theater 100% responsible. Anyways, I definitely recommend this theater and hope that my anomaly of an experience would remain just that.
