There are few reviews that I have found that are about the actual hotel. I will review the hotel, casino and the two resturants separately. They also have a buffet and convention center but I did not enjoy these amenities. My wife and I arrived from Seattle after traveling all day and it was at night. The hotel is NOT attached to the casino so it was confusing to get to the hotel but its just down the road. We checked in at registration and as all the other reviews state, the staff was super friendly. We make it to our room, 234B (there are buildings A,B,C and D, all with 3 floors). The room we got was a 2 bed ocean view. It was very nice and clean, nothing special but for the price point it was good. As the reviews say, they do need to do some remodeling and updating. My wife and I then went to the casino and resturant (see other reviews). We then slept in the comfy beds and when we woke up the view is AMAZING. We opened our curtains and the crashing waves were right in front of us. My wife and our two dogs enjoyed our coffee just watching them. Speaking of dogs, they are dog friendly and at check in they provide poop bags (how awesome) and they have a lot of grassy areas. The pet fee is 20 per dog per day. We also received a paper with the rules for pets which was a little threatening saying NEVER leave your pet or they could be removed. Sounds way to scary but our dogs are good so we left them the night before and to get breakfast and everything was fine. All and all a very nice room, beautiful views, good amenities. One complaint is the non smoking rooms have a smokey smell, however you get used to it because its not that strong.

We stayed in the Junior suites twice in the last few years. Great place to relax with balconies to view the ocean, gas fireplace on a timer, love seat or two chairs, table, wet bar with sink fridge and microwave. Marble shower with adjustable shower head and plenty of hot water. There is an extra sink and hairdryer outside of the bathroom. We didnt have an in room safe this time, but I thought we did in another junior suite a few years ago if my memory serves me. The bed was comfortable! Two TVs, but we didnt watch them. There is a spa, sauna, and small exercise room downstairs with laundry facilities as well. Both times we stayed, we enjoyed the hot tub! An employee came to test the chemicals both times, so I think the camera in the corner alerts them to keep track of people. A phone is by the elevator to call the casino shuttle. You can relax by the fireplace on huge comfy chairs or couch while you wait only a few minutes for the shuttle. Ice and vending drinks are on every floor. Snack vending and self-serve luggage carts on the ground floor. A very short walk to the ocean, with a shoe cleaning station on your way back to the hotel. I highly recommend staying here!

The staff was nice, but our room was just not as promised. We requested and were guaranteed a non-smoking room. Our room smelled of smoke and when we called the desk, the staff offered to spray a smoke mask in the room. They also offered to fump coffee grounds on the carpet for a while then come vacuum them up. As none of the rooms have a no smok i ng sign by the door, I dont think any of the rooms are really nonsmoking. Aside from the smell, there were minimum stays and higher prices due to the eclipse, and we had to stay longer than desired (in our smelly room). The pool was seemingly unheated, in a heated room and there were not enough chairs or dry places to place our belongings while we swam (only 2 other families were there). I would not stay again, primarily because of the smoke issue.

I love the view I got from my room, my friend and I are on the third floor. The customer service weve received has been wonderful. The reason I didnt give full starts is because the room itself although lovely has had several issues with it, the light to our deck was out and the tv in our room has a tube going out in it to where it flickered between dim and dark. The keurig in the room was dirty and we had to run water through it 4 times before coffee grounds stopped coming out with the water. None of the negative things really impacted the stay however they were just small annoyances. I would recommend others stay, and just let the front desk know about any issues the people there are wonderful,

My husband and I have visited the restaurant many times. Our latest visit was met with disappointment, as the portion size for the clam chowder was much smaller than previous visits. We learned the menu has changed. Thankfully, the chowder recipe did not! Another disappointment, no bread comes with the chowder. The salad and bread combo order gives you about four bites of salad and the rolls are processed and not fresh. The salmon gravy fries were pretty good. The only thing that will take us back to this restaurant is the chowder recipe. Its the best in Lincoln City and the surrounding areas.

Despite reading all the reviews about how dirty the rooms were and how rude the customer service, I thought it would be fine for only 69 bucks. That was a mistake. I would not stay here for free. I made a reservation and was told to check in at 3. I showed up around 4 and they said they did not have any rooms ready. The desk clerk was the rudest person I had every met. The manager was just as rude. For people in the customer service business, they front desk was rude, and downright mean. I took my business elsewhere and I am glad i did. DO NOT STAY HERE.

For years my family had been using this facility as a jump point to the various activities available in the area. last year I rented three rooms here and found that my ocean view had holes in the walls, molding missing, dirty carpets, mold in the bathroom, etc. For the price Im not to picky, but this was unacceptable. I mentioned this to management on my departure, they acknowledged, but did not refund my stay. I have not been back to any of the Chinook Winds facilities since. L. Poole Springfield, OR

The rooms are right on the beach. Awesome views and our suite had an electric fireplace. The rooms are 3 star and could definitely use an upgrade in carpet, furniture and ceiling. The rooms are separate from the Casino so you need a Shuttle to get there. You can walk if the weather allows. The Restaurant had quality food, amazing (but not so pretty) Lobster Bisque. They prepare it with the lobster and corn in the bowl then pour in the cream. Its a memorable dish. Fun casino but no High Limit.

While I stayed there I tried using my credit card to purchase tickets to a Chinook winds casino MMA event. My card was signed in the back SEE ID as I was told by my financial advisor never sign your card always put SEE ID so nobody can copy your signature. the "winners circle" would not take my ID and card because it was not a signature. when I asked to speak to a manager he looked at me and said "policy". I will never stay there, gambel, or recommend this place. Very very very disappointed.
