What an amazing place for a Wedding Dinner and Reception! We are from Florida and our daughter got married in December....she wanted something that felt warm and inviting. When we visited Highland Gardens in the fall, it was beautiful, affordable, warm and inviting, available to us for the entire day of our event, and very functional--with two separate rooms, we were able to have the Wedding Dinner in the smaller room, and then move into the larger room for the Reception! We were concerned about guests driving in bad weather and this eliminated extra driving between locations. Shelly was amazing to work with! She listened to my daughter, took notes, and offered suggestions. She and her staff had everything set up perfectly when we arrived on the Wedding day. Having only been to the venue during the day, I was taken back by its beauty at night--the tulle and lighting overhead create a magical fairy-tale atmosphere! It was breathtaking! Other things we loved are the heated floors--brilliant!, the Brides changing room was comfortable and beautiful (my daughter changed three times!), the double fireplace gave beauty and warmth, and the waterfall feature was a great backdrop for the dinner and pictures! Shellys daughter and son-in-law were there during our event and were wonderful--they took down the dinner room quickly and quietly, adjusted some tables for us and helped us set up, checked in with us to make sure we were comfortable, helped us take down our things after the reception, and worked extremely well with the caterer. They were very sweet and helpful! The caterer loved the large kitchen with all of its amenities. We couldnt be happier with our entire experience...from the beginning planning stages all the way through the event-- everything was perfect! I will highly recommend Highland Gardens to my friends and family....I have one more daughter to get married--maybe shell get married in Utah :)
My son had his reception on June 11, 2015. We are incredibly happy with our entire experience with the Highland Gardens reception center. We were treated with respect and every attention was given to our requests, even when we just dropped in to measure space or look at options for centerpieces. They had a huge array of table linens and table decorations that were included in the price for the event. I was very happy with the fact that the price for the reception included access to the facility for the entire day beginning at 9 am. We were able to have our wedding luncheon at Highland Gardens as well. They did not charge us for table or chair set up. Everything.....everything was included in the price which was very refreshing. When we arrived at the luncheon and the reception, all the tables and chairs were set up and the linens placed. As soon as we were finished a crew came in to clean up. We did not have to provide anyone for set up or clean up which also made the whole day much less stressful. Shelly and Ashley were extremely helpful with any requests or needs that we had. The center is already decorated with plants and lighting so the only items needed were any extra table pieces. My relatives from California were highly impressed with the facility and said it was the best reception center that had ever been to. They also recommended our caterer--Michis Catering--which is run by Michele Redford. I cannot praise her food enough. We used her for the luncheon and cheesecakes for the reception. The food was absolutely scrumptious and I would recommend her for all your reception or future event needs. I will certainly use her again. The prices for both the reception and the catering were very reasonable. My sons wedding day was stress free and entirely enjoyable and beautiful. I attribute much of that to the Highland Gardens Reception Center. Please consider them for your reception.
Why I loved Highland Gardens for my January 17th wedding: At first this was the last place on my list. It seemed like everybody did their reception there and truthfully, I wasnt super impressed with the curb appeal. Then I checked out all of the other places on my list. Their websites were glamorous, but when I went to the actual reception center, I was very disappointed. Most places make you use their caterer, cake, decorations, charge extra for linens, etc. It left for very little creativity. After a lot of disappointment, I went to Highland Gardens on a whim. I was impressed from the moment I stepped in the door. The first thing you see is lush greenery and a very open floor plan. I was impressed with the following: -The accommodating people who work there -The brides room -The kitchen -The fact that you can bring in your own caterers -The sound system -Linens did not cost extra -Flatware was provided -Because nobody booked the day before me, I was able to go in all day Thursday to decorate -The happy twinkle lights shining to give the appearance of stars -The light bulbs on the rafters -The fireplace -The waterfall -The luncheon room -The furniture that you can move anywhere that you want -The fact that they put up the tables and linens as well as take them down after the reception There were so many things that I loved about this reception center. The thing that I loved the most is that my guests loved the reception. This was a reception where when people came, they stayed because they felt so comfortable to be there. It was a huge success and even a month later, people are still talking about how great it was. It was very easy to write this review because I very impressed with this center and would recommend it to brides who do not want to be confined to the ugly stuffiness that other centers offer. It really fit my creative style.
Words cannot describe the experience we had with Highland Gardens Reception center. Shelly goes above and beyond to make sure things go smoothly... she was a great help, especially being this was my first wedding I had put on. I have helped with several other weddings at different locations in Utah and there is no comparison! Most the time I dont take the time to post reviews online but I wanted to share my experience, if your looking for a place to hold a special event, LOOK NO FURTHER... this is the perfect place! My daughter was so pleased, it was everything she had hoped her special day would be. The place is gorgeous, clean, and roomy. I love that everything you need is there and included in the price... no add ons to the price like most places. The tables, chairs, linens (several color options), audio system, TV/DVD, Huge kitchen with tons of space to prepare food or bringing in catered food, etc. They have nice dinner plates, salad plates, dessert plates, silverware, drink dispensers, serving bowls and platters, tongs, etc... you need it, its there... we brought in very little of our own kitchen items! Loved the HUGE freezer and refrigerator, quick and easy to use industrial dishwasher! The bride and groom rooms were darling, spacious and perfect for a number of people to get ready in. The restrooms were also very nice and clean for our guests. I loved that they had so many options of large easels for the pictures, several types of display tables, arches, etc. to decorate as we wanted.... all included in price! You also dont really need to bring in much decorations, unless you want to, because it is already beautiful as is! Take my advise... check this place out, book it for your event, I guarantee you wont be disappointed one bit! We have had more compliments on what a great place this was for our daughters wedding!
