I live about 10 mins from this theater and when we first heard we were getting one (about 13 or so years ago) we were thrilled!! Not having to drive to Wilmington or Myrtle Beach was sooooo nice. It was amazing when we first got it, new everything including seats that recline back.... amazing!! But..... and I do mean but..... over the years the look and feel of newness has declined. Not only that, but the prices are outrageous and some of their theaters dont have a working air conditioner (which has been going on for the past 4 years or so). A bottle of water costs about a dollar at a gas station... but at the theater over 4 dollars.... really!?!?!? Not only that but the little small childs cup of water you could get in the past is reduced to a tiny cup that wont even satisfy a toddler. I understand the whole supply and demand thing but some stuff is too much. I emailed corporate about a yr or so ago and basically got sorry for your inconvenience and bare with us..... but from what I can tell nothing rally has improved, only pricing has seemed to go up and the condition of the theater has gone down. At least now there are paper towel despensers in the restrooms. Plus with the area we are in and all the tourists what come down you think you would see some kind of improvement... guess we will have to wait and see..... but I dont have high hopes for the place..... apparently someone didnt understand supply and demand in marketing class... because yall got it backwards. I will say though that most the people who work there are hard workers and are very nice. I just feel bad for them because they get the brunt of it, with people being upset over the pricing... so kudos to them for keeping a level head and even temper.

Weve been to this movie theater many times. Contrary to some other reviews, I dont think the theater is in bad shape. I dont feel like its dirty. Have never bought popcorn or drinks so cant comment on that. What I can comment on is the ridiculous policy they have of having the snack bar staff selling tickets and snacks. We got there in plenty of time for our movie with our Fandango tickets on our phone. The line to get in to buy tickets was out the door. Customers were confused about the line, whether it was for popcorn or tickets. The last time we did this we simply walked in and showed our phone to one of the snack bar staff and they sent us right in. Fandango says "show this ticket to the ticket taker". There is not a ticket taker. Once again we asked a snack bar staff member but he told us we needed to get in line a get a printed ticket; to give to who I dont know since no one is checking. We played that game for a few minutes but realized we werent going to make our movie, plus WE ALREADY HAD OUR TICKETS so we simply walked into the theater. When we left the movie there were no customers at the snack bar and no one waiting to buy tickets, just employees standing around. It seems to me that staggering the start times of the movies would eliminate people waiting in line for so long and having to stand outside in the heat. Maybe theyre required to start the movies at a certain time, but something about this crazy policy needs to be changed. Hire enough people perhaps? But since theyre the only game in town Im not expecting much.

O.K. so heres the deal - I spoke to everyone in Brunswick County in a management position, including the Fire Marshall. The County Manager, the Health Dept. etc, etc... re: the absolutely deplorable conditions that exist in this theater complex, no to mention that there is no heat and AC in 4 of the theaters and its been that way for over a YEAR. The health Dept. sent a Mr. Varnum to do a walk through. Well Mr. Varnum found "No Violations" ... Huh, no violations...? According to all these people that dump is in compliance with County codes. However, they will admit that they have no code enforcement for FILTH other than in the food area. I was told by the acting Fire Marshall some 6 months ago "If they dont fix the heat and the theaters fall below 65 degrees they will force the shut down of those theaters" Im sure the theaters w/o heat will be below 65 degrees today seeing as its 32 degrees outside. I voiced my opinion with all these people about the dangers posed to children re: possible mold and mildew as well as the unsanitary conditions throughout the theater including the germ factories they call the bathrooms. All my best efforts FELL ON DEAF EARS... Good Ole Boy network lives on... Go to this theater complex at your own RISK and good luck... Take a look at the reviews below the manager will only respond to 4 or five star reviews. This person NEVER answers the negative reviews why is that LINDA...?

Last winter when we were having an ice storm I took my family to the movies. We were not warned that the theatre had no heat. They literally were selling tickets to people, sending them to freezing temperatures (did I mention it was in the teens outside) and then when we wanted to leave 15 minutes later, they refused to refund our money. I couldnt believe it. Now here it is a year later, took the family yet again and there is STILL no heat. When we complained to management their response, "we know but cooperate wont let us get it fixed so there is nothing we can do." We were also informed that they have no a/c either so if youre up to spend $70 for a family of 4 and then willing to freeze to death or sweat to death in the summer this is the place for you. PS Theres a theatre in Southport which is older but has definitely more cared for than this one. Also, Myrtle Beach Cinema is not that far away
