I love being here, the staff is awesome and its always fun being there. And because theres no way to reply to reviews on here, the review made by Jaquayla Thomas, I was there the night her and her friends came to this theater, the employee that sold them the tickets did make a mistake by not carding them but the whole matter was in no way a racial problem, they were stopped by the officer because the manager told him to card them. None of them had an ID on them and claimed they left it in the car, yet when they came back to the lobby they claimed they had just walked all the way over here from Golden Corral (I dont know about you but I wouldnt park my car that far away from a pretty much empty lot). They asked about why the group they knew personally didnt get carded and got to go to their movie and that was because they didnt go to a R rated movie, they went to Suicide Squad which was PG-13. As her and her group was walking back to get their refunds they were making racist comments towards the officer, ticket guy, and Manager saying "you know why this is happening right. Its cause were black isnt it?" Funiest thing about all that was the manager who did tell them to leave is black along with a good majority of the employees who work there. And what a great way to end the whole problem than her friend throwing "the bird" at them. Her review on this theater was both misleading and untrue, and I do hope that other customers dont believe someone who wont tell the whole truth about what happened. Yes they do require someone 21 years or older to buy tickets and watch the movie with kids 16 and under for R rated movies, that is FEDERAL LAW and its not going to change unless the law does. getting mad at them for abiding by the law is unnecessary, they are simply doing their jobs. I do hope that anyone who reads this review visits this theater and enjoys their experience as much as I do.

When I got there, there was only ONE really old person doing tickets going VERY slow. But 3 other people were doing refreshments. Not til 15 minutes later did a customer (NOT even an employee) come up to me and say that you can buy the tickets at the refreshment stand too. So I go to a refreshment cashier where there was 1 person ahead of me. They didnt have money for the guy to give him change. Another 5 minutes. Then they paid him and the lady picked up the phone and started talking to another employee from another store regarding a price check. So instead of telling them hold on a minute, she takes the call and starts chit chattin while shes looking around for a price book. Then she goes in the back for another 3 minutes, then comes out laughing and then starts looking in the book for a price. "REALLY!?!?! Because there isnt a line of people out the door!!" <--- I said exactly that and she gave me a dirty look. Then i said, "all i want to do is buy a damn ticket" then i ended up on the same line i was on to begun with. Unbelievable. So not only was i 20 minutes late to the movie (arrived 15 min early) but about 20 minutes into the movie I start to feel like it was the North Pole. The AC was soooo high, I had to put my arms inside my shirt. And I was still freezing. Movie was good but theater was not that great. Put more people at the cashier or more signage and lower the artic blast. Go to the nicer one behind Bass Pro in North myrtle.

They now have a police officer posted with the guy who takes your ticket stubs. I am very unhappy with the way things was handled on a resent visit. I went in and bought tickets for my daughter and her friend for an R rated movie, they were very close to being 17. I was not planning to stay, but obviously with me purchasing the tickets I was giving them permission. After they went into the theater, the lady at the concessions saw me leave and went and had the police officer go in and make them leave. This was outrageous. I and my kids have been going to that theater for 20 years and there has never been a police officer there. It is ridiculous that a police officer had to embarrass my daughter by going into that movie and bringing her out. Just let me point out that they never asked them for any ID so they just assumed because I bought the tickets that they werent 17. I have never had this problem before EVER, there has been many rated R movies that my teens have been to without a problem. Just because its R doesnt mean anything, they can see that on TV at home or on Netflix. We will never go back.

Ive lived in Myrtle Beach for years and see movies at this theatre at least twice a month. Ive never seen the staff treat people rudely. Rusty, who takes the tickets, is one of the kindest most professional men Ive ever met in a theatre. He greets people kindly and if one has questions about the movies, hes very knowledge and willing to assist with information about them. The manager works hard at keeping operations going as quickly as possible at the concessions area. If theres been delays recently, it may be due to adding alcohol to the beverage options. It may be helpful to have a special line for customers wanting to purchase alcoholic beverages to streamline things. I agree with others that some of the theatres (maybe number 5) need freshening. Its not an easy task as its so humid here.

I presented a VISA credit card to the attendant and she asked me for an ID. I left my wallet in the car and didnt have it on me and asked to see the manager (7/9/14 afternoon show). I explained that VISA does not require an ID as long as a card is properly presented in person, is signed and accepted by VISA. After five minutes of arguing with the manager, she finally accepted my card but the manager told the attendant to write my card number/name down in case of a future problem. AMC should stop requiring additional IDs with a credit card. Its inconvenient, exposes the customer to identity theft, the card has the chip & cant be duplicated and its against VISAs main policy. But bottom line, if a card was fraudulent, VISA would eat the charge and not AMC.

We go to this theater quite often. We try to go early if its a weekend or if we know its going to be a popular movie knowing there will be lines. Most employees are nice, especially the older gentleman who takes the tickets and has been there for years. I like the way they have the concession line roped now so the people who were there first, get waited on first. I like a cool theater, especially in the summer, and it is usually cool here. I would just recommend you park close in and under the lights at night. This has nothing to do with the theater, but the mall not having good security.

The popcorn is always stale, even though they say the make it daily. I paid $7 for a "regular" bag and I couldnt eat more than a handful. The young girl serving the popcorn always asks for my drivers license, when I use my credit card, even though I just used it to buy my ticket. I guess it makes her feel powerful. The ticket was just under $7 for the matinee, not a very good deal. The cinema is towards the back of the mall, where very few cars park, doesnt feel safe. The theatre smells like mildew. I would not recommend this theater.
