i bought my tickets on tuesday the 27th of May to see Maleficent opening day Thur 05-29-2014 it was showing at the Big D theater at broadway at the beach, so bought my tickets to see it on the big screen even had friends drive an hour to join us, movie said it was starting at 8pm so we got there at 7:30 to make sure we got good seats when i handed the guy my tickets he looked at them weird, i asked when they where seating and the guy told me the movie started at 7pm, i said No i bought the tickets for the 8pm showing , the guy then told me that they changed the showtime to 7pm after i bought my tickets. the guy then told us we could go see it at the regular theater at 8pm for the same price, the manager tried to avoid me at all cost, so we went to the other theater thats where i found another manager, she listed to what happened and still did nothing for me. she also rolled her eyes at me and told me to enjoy the show. ill have you know that im a local and use to go to that theater at least once to twice a week, i will never return, i still dont understand how u can change showtimes after youve sold tickets to a showing because they know how many tickets they sell. VERY WRONG

Had to walk to the concession stand to buy tickets.... which was not an issue , !had to wait on fountain drinks to be changed.. and it was flat after all of the waiting.. the place had a musty smell throughout the entire theater... we finally got to the theater and the place had nothing on the screen no music no previews nothing.. so we waited and waited .. my husband went to ask what was going on.. they didnt have a clue what was or was not going on! The movie was supposed to start at 11 .. the previews etc never got started until 11::45 movie started at 12 one hour late! No one came to apologize nothing! I would not recommend this theater ever.. as we were sitting in the theater other people told us this had happened before. This is an older theater that really needs updated and cleaned.

I am in Myrtle Beach for 3 months in the winter and usually go to the shows between 4 and 5 pm when the seats are 5.75. There are usually very few people there. .I went a few times when it was crowded and the tickets had to be purchased at the concession stand which took forever. The prices of popcorn and drinks are outrageous and I NEVER buy that stuff at a theater. I dont understand why someone would pay $4 for a small bottle of water. Havent they ever heard of a purse or coat pocket? So the prices are a moot issue for me. I just dont get how other people allow themselves to be overcharged like that. Some of the theaters have smaller screens but most are ok. My main complaint is not starting on time and showing a load of commercials.

I think some reviewers are confusing the Big D theater with the one inside the mall on Kings Highway. The Big D theater @ Broadway was great! Plush leather seats, a humongous screen and its unlikely you wont find a place to sit. The two movies I saw at the theater were Terminator Genisys & Jurassic World, both in 3D. Pay attention to detail because when I ordered the tickets online I thought I would get to see Jurassic Park in 3D @ the Big D theater however when I arrive I was told the movie was only being shown in 3D at the small (regular) theater. Theres nothing special about the regular theater so my 4 star rating is for the Big D. I wouldve given it 5 Stars had I got to see both movies at the Big D.

For a vacation destination theater, this theater was horrifying. The lobby was filthy. The men’s room smelled like a county road gas station toilet. I nearly puked. The disturbing part was the cleaning checklist on the door was current with initials up to just 5 min before I went in. The theater was large and empty. My 2 boys and I had the whole place to ourselves. It unfortunately smelled like the men’s room. As one other review stated, the 9:45pm movie started at 10:08pm after 22 minutes of previews and ads. The only redeeming quality was we happen to go on a Tuesday: $2 small drinks and popcorn. The popcorn was pretty good and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the movie we came to see.

Let me explain the confusion! There are 2 different theaters here at the same location with the same name. The "Big D" Theater is the new nice and fancy theater with great seats. But when u buy tickets it has to be BD tickets! If your ticket does not say BD then you will be going to the old and yes stinky, SMALL, and disgusting theater! Wish I had known! I went to see Cars 3. They did offer to let me pay more and upgrade to see the movie at the better theater tomorrow but my child was already so crazy excited that he could not wait for another day.

When we first got into the theater and sat down, it was nice and cool there. We were there for a 7 p.m. movie. After the movie started, they turn the air conditioning off. I guess they thought it was a waste of money since only three people are in the theater. Im thinking about coming back tomorrow during the day. I hope they dont turn the air off tomorrow, because if they do, I will be complaining. The one star is for the one time that we visited this place. Hopefully after tomorrow we can give it a better rating.

9Worst Teather I even been in my life...... OMG!!! dont go there!!! look like the have not done nothing to it since 80s..... screen are so small..... I have 70 inch TV at home and its look bigger...... seats and popcorn is horrible, I was so disappointed when I walked in to the room after purchasing tikets..... Then few days latter me and my GF went to Grand 14 movie theater, WOW! what a difference!!!! probably the best theatre in Myrtle Beach, but to be honest popcorn there not the best too.

Ive never seen more inefficient management. In an apparent attempt to push concessions, they closed the ticket window and made customers purchase tickets at the concession counter. With a line that twisted 4 rows deep, there were only 4 registers open. It took 17 minutes to purchase a ticket, and then there was only one ticket taker. They also, in spite of the spacious lobby, forced consumers out the side doors, prohibiting meeting parties in a warm environment. Go somewhere else.

Smells like urine in each theater. The bathroom is so nasty, Id rather hold it & have a bladder infection than to go in there. The seats are very uncomfortable and popcorn is stale. You are an embarrassment to one of the most visited areas in Myrtle Beach SC. Fix it!!!! UPDATE MAY 2017: Ok, so youve changed the name but its smells like urine. Please work on renovating this place AMC. To all customers, : The Big D is better and Market Commons.
