This is our go-to when we want to see a great movie, especially in 3D. The theater used to be IMAX, so the screen is HUGE! And the acoustics are on point. You really cant beat it for an action-packed movie! There is a mini Pizza Hut downstairs if you prefer a personal pan over traditional movie fare that you can take into the theater. Or, eat at one of the awesome restaurants at Broadway. The tickets arent much more expensive than a regular theater, and every penny worth it! Only one movie can be shown at a time, and they dont advertise movie times on Fandango, so be sure to check out their website directly for movie times and ticket orders. You can also purchase when you get there.

Awful. This place claims to be like an IMAX, but let me tell you, it is FAR from it. The 3D is not the name brand "Real D 3D" that every other movie theater uses. Its something called "True 3D". Me and my girlfriend went there and during the movie, it felt like our eyes were being torn in half! We even tried to move to different seats throughout the theater and it didnt help at all. When we went back to the counter to get our money back, the employees acted like we were lying and said THEY had no problem with the 3D. At that time I noticed they both wore thick eyeglasses, so idk. If your vision is already poor, it might help but my experience was ruined and Ill never be back.

The movie we saw was "WILD OCEAN" I was expecting a movie on the creatures of the sea, instead it was more about the people of Africa and how they catch sardines. What we did see of the ocean was enjoyable and the graphics were good, it was a big disappointment that the film kept going from the ocean to the land where the Africans lived and catches sardines. the movie should have been called, Africa on a sardine run. I felt the $38.00 I spent was not worth it. I have been to other Imax theatres although not 3D but these other theatres were in a sphere where the screen was all around you, not at the Myrtle Beach IMAX. it i more like a regular theatre in 3D...

My wife and I went to the IMAX today. We had watched the previews on the theaters website and decided from there what we wanted to see. We chose to see the Deep Sea feature. It started off amazing and it slowly trickled down to being boring. My wife actually started to fall asleep during the last 15 minutes! Both my wife and I liked the experience itself though. It was actually my first time ever seeing an IMAX movie so I thought the whole thing was really cool. I would recommend it to anyone, however, I would not recommend the Deep Sea feature.

During the first week Star Wars Rogue one I purchase a 3D ticket at the Big D theater. I believe it was the last matinee on a Tuesday and the movie wasnt in 3D. I found out later on from one of my daughters friends that there was a projection mistake or some kind of thing. So the movie was never actually shown in 3D. They should alerted all the patrons and apologize to them and gave us a refund on our way out. Ive seen Force awakens in 3D in that theater it was absolutely fantastic.

We went and saw the documentary "Hubble" about the Hubble telescope. It was GREAT! The theater was clean and well organized. We saved money by showing a discount card we received from our hotel, so that made it even better. The assigned seating was a little confusing at first for most of the people in the theater, but it all worked out. Would visit again.

Went and saw Star Wars there. It was nice to walk right into the building and not stand in line for a ticket counter. They take your ticket right at the food counter, which had no wait. The movie experienc was great! Nice steep seating theater, so nobodys head in your line of sight. Comfortable seats too. Definitely recommend.

Update: this place is now closed since AMC took over. I normally go here for the big blockbuster movie releases on Thursday nights, sometimes it is a little disorganized but I love going here for the big screen and the sound system. My favorite theater on the beach.

One of the few actual big screen IMAX theaters In the region. Everything else is a "Liemax". The other IMAX theaters are in mall of Georgia and Raleigh,NC. Shame they are only playing "Suicide Squad" today.
