So I went to see the new Guardians of the Galaxy with my mom, who isnt really a fan but was willing to go with me, she has a bad back and walks with a cane so we took seats on the first flight up from the nosebleed seats and were quite happy with the new seats, theyre comfortable and have a nice reclining feature. So why 1 star? Because even though we got there 30 minutes early 5 minutes before the previews someone came along and said, "Those are my seats," and stood over us until we moved. Now, silly me, but if youre going to have assigned seats shouldnt you be forced to pick them? Yes, I did see the screen to select seats, but I thought it was silly, I havent had assigned seats since High School and skipped it. It turns out that our seats were one more level up...so, my mom, with the bad back, is supposed to climb to that next row? I dont think so. In addition, a matinee price showing where each ticket is $10 is a ripoff. Result: I might one day go back to an AMC, but never this one, it will always be tainted by this experience. A couple more facts you should know before you ignore this and support the outrageous prices and stupid policy changes, I have been an AMC Stubs member for many years now, both before they charged and after and even since they changed it so there were both options. I paid for this membership because I go to a lot of movies and even $12 a year worked out in my favor. Ever since AMC Concord Mills got IMAX Ive gone to those exclusively when I could. All this combined: I have gone just to this one theater you years and loved it because its close to home and always clean and a good experience, as movie prices have gone up over the years Ive never more than quietly grumbled and gotten over it, but now that a man can come in and force my mom to leave a seat because he selected it I wont be going back. I got my money back and was so mad at this theater that I threw away my AMC Stubs card and a free movie pass I had. If in the end you like being treated like a child then feel free to ignore me, all I can say is good luck and may your movie going experience be better than mine.

General Manager Ernie Cooper at the Concord Mills AMC theater, Concord, NC gets a big fat "F". He is rude and not customer friendly at all. I was harassed by a customer who was watching the same movie that I was watching. I was upset and reported my experience to the general manager and he immediately said to me I was wrong, because I defended myself and my children while a man got in my face and questioned me on why I brought my kids to see the movie "The Call". I felt threatened by this unknown mans actions towards my children and I. The GM told me I was wrong for speaking up. He was only concerned about the customers around that heard what happen and they showed me more compassion than he did. As a General manager, he should have #1 spoke to the man about harassing other paying customers and #2 apologized offered some kind of an apology that I had to experience something like that at his theater. He showed no kind of empathy or compassion, instead he showed ignorance and lack of ability and capability to manage or deal with situations that get out of hand. A customer is always right even if they are wrong, you never tell a customer they are wrong, as a manager you try to resolve the situation as quickly as possible not escalate the situation by speaking rude, and telling them they were wrong.....Not everyone can be a manager and Ernie Cooper should not be a general manager at a yard sale. I spent a total of $60. 00 there today and an additonal $8.00 to purchase the AMC stubs card. I asked for a refund and was rudely told by the GM to go online and apply for a refund. On average my family spends $100 - $125.00 per month at that theater and to be treated in that manner will never happen again. During the holidays I spend at least a minimum of $200.00 on gift cards for my department and I purchase them at the AMC theater. I will not patronize that business as long as Ernie Cooper is the GM at Concord Mills. I will NOT spend a penny to support that theater as long as he is the GM. AMC needs to send there GMs to customer service training 101.

We have been patrons of this theater for the last 4 years. My daughters 14 and almost 17 went to a 9:30 PG13 movie Pitch Perfect 2 tonight. When asked there age they told the truth and were told the rule was no one under 17 can see a movie after 9:30? So they called their father back. My husband came back to theater bought a ticket and went in with the girls. He stayed only a few minutes he is a physician and was called away so he left. Evidently this lady that sold them their tickets was watching them and following this sent someone in and removed my girls from the theater. She was rude stern and treated my two girls as if they had just committed a crime embarrassing them by dragging them out of the theater telling them they had to leave. I spoke to Ernie Cooper the General manager over the phone when they returned home. He was rude, unempathetic basically denying everything I said and everything my girls experienced and felt. Saying that it wasnt true that they werent treated like criminals and embarrassed in front of everyone in the theater. That they were nice because they gave them their money back! Ernie refused to give me the name of the women who was so cold rude and treated my girls like they were thieves! this 9:30 rule has not been the policy at this theater but Ernie says it has been for 4 years! It is also discriminatory because my girls saw many teens in this movie they new from school who were not with parents and who are not or were not with 17 year olds! My girls just happened to buy tickets from the one women who decided to enforce this ridiculous rule. Kids 14 and almost 17 cant go to a 9:30 movie on a Friday night??? This was not a midnight movie that I know many of their classmates go to but I dont allow my kids to go to. I spoke with this Ernie for about 8 minutes he refused to give me the name of his supervisor and the name of the enforcer women he gave me only the general customer service number and said he had work to do and was going to hang up which he then did!

My husband and I took my godsisters to see "Girls Trip" on July 22nd. At some point one of my godsisters had lost her cellphone (after we had already bought our tickets ) so we got up from our seats and went to the front desk. After talking to the person at the front desk who said they couldnt find the phone, my godsister and I proceeded to walk back into the movie when we were stopped by a RUDE employee checking tickets named Liz (tall white woman with medium length hair). Liz yelled very loudly at us " Yall need to get back in line and show me your tickets!" Completely SHOCKED that she had just yelled at me like I had just stole her purse, I yelled right back at her "You dont have to be rude". My husband fortunately walked up and showed her my tickets (even though he didnt have to because of her terrible attitude). Then all of a sudden, another woman who apparently heard the exchange, walks up says to me "Oh, Shes being rude to you too?!" This other woman let Liz HAVE IT and went OFF on her because apparently Liz had been rude to her and several other customers too that night. I have never been yelled at like that ever in my life from a person working in customer service!!! Ms Liz must have been overwhelmed by the abundance of movie goers that night, but that still doesnt give her the right to scold me and demand that I "get in line" like I am a child. I will be calling corporate about this matter so Ms Liz can see that there are consequences for ignorant and rude people like her. BOTTOM LINE, if you cant take the pressure of working at a movie theater, GET A NEW JOB LIZ.
