This was quite possibly the worst service that i have ever had in my life. There was one young lady who was great whos name i didnt get, but the terrible service by Mynesha outweighed that dramatically. First, our order was "taken" (and i said "taken" because as Im talking to her, she sees someone that she knows and says " i knew you looked familiar" and had a short conversation with them which was completely rude and very unprofessional and explains why my order ended up being wrong) which was nachos, popcorn, chicken tenders, twix bites, and a pizza. So, we were given the nachos and thats it(Im glad i could get the twix bites myself because i probably would not have gotten them.) There was no time frame given to us on when the other food would be done. Meanwhile, i see other orders being taken and nothing communicated to me. So i asked when will the pizza be done? She said two minutes. So, about 5-7 minutes later, I get my pizza. In the mean time, we still havent gotten an update on the chicken tenders or gotten our popcorn, but I see plenty of people leaving the counter with their popcorn and drinks. So, i asked about the chicken tenders, and they say about 5 minutes and i ask about the popcorn. Still, no popcorn. So, weve been at the counter already for 20 minutes total by now, missing our movie. So, the chicken tenders come out in a few minutes and the lady says that all of them arent in there so they have to make more. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! This is when i actually started to get annoyed because the next thing they said was, "we will bring it to your seat." If this was an option, why was this not exercised at the beginning of the order since they knew that they did not have any of this ready at all?!? In the mean time, we STILL DID NOT GET OUR POPCORN! 25 minutes, at least that we waited at the counter, and we still did not have our popcorn. SO, before she started to help another guest in line, again, i asked for our popcorn. We finally got it, but as we were about to leave to go to our seats, she had the nerve to say, "wait, you ordered nachos? I did not charge you for those." That was the FIRST THING I ordered!!!!!! I calmly gave her my card so that she could charge me for the nachos, and went into the theater. About 5 minutes later, the guy brought the chicken tenders in that were owed to me, and that was the end of that debacle. AMC theaters, you need to seriously think about the screening process for some of your employees. This is a service driven industry and Im paying for service, and I received the opposite of it. I could have made a scene and demanded a manager on site, but i chose not to embarrass that young lady at work. I was not expecting to be catered to, but I did expect for my order to be right and for people to communicate certain things to me out of common decency and not to have to end up paying for someone elses incompetence. The theater itself is very comfortable and clean, but the service, because of Mynesha, was terrible. And Ill definitely be writing to the corporate office about this experience.
Wow, you know? I have to be honest here. When I first heard that a close friend of mines wanted to go to Rivertowne Theater to go see a film I was like: "Hold up?! Rivertowne?? You sure about that? lol" But once I got to see everything for myself I realized that there have been many changes made. The last time I went to this theater was when I was a kid to see Martin Lawrences "Black Knight" but just recently I went to go see "Race" at a late night showing and I had a great time. The employees are kind and very helpful and Im just glad to see my people coming out to have a great time to be entertained amongst one another. Will be coming back here in the new future. Please keep up the great work, the community appreciates you all.
I have been going to this theater since the 1980s. Then it was pagers and people talking through the movie. Now it has been refurbished and is a very nice theater to go to and watch a movie but now we have people that will text and talk through movies. Management will not remove people from the theater even when the same person is asked to stop texting 3 different times. I refuse to go back. I can not understand why an individual will go to the movies and then knowingly have no self control over just putting their phones away for less then 2 hours. Just sad.
Great theater! Great Seats (yes they electronically recline and are very spacious)! Great Sound and picture! Ive been there many times since the re-design and its clearly my go-to venue. Snacks are fresh, drinks are cold - all in all it is great. Ive been there many times recently and never had any problems with the seats itching. Its also the cleanest theater Ive been in. GREAT Theater (but dont tell anyone - limited # of seats and reserved seating will eventually make it difficult to get good seats once it catches on - so dont tell anyone).
Im no longer a movie goer, but my 14 y/o was invited to see a movie here. While she went to see her movie, I saw one myself. Beautiful theater, great reclining chairs and Im a fan of reserved seating. What ruined the experience was the crowd of people around me. Why go see a movie if you are going to be on your cell phone or make comments out loud and ruin the experience for others? I dont understand why go to the movies if you are going to talk through it, why not stream it at home where you can be as rude as you like.
Our family movie moment was rudely irrupted by an AMC employee who came in and asked the for the 1 Latino family to show their tickets. This employee wrongfully accused us of not paying to see the show and single us out. His ear-piercing and incriminating voice interrupted, harassed, and humiliated us in the middle of the movie! I dont know about you, but this is not the AMC or movie experience I or my family seeks. Just stay away from this location and if possible AMC theaters.
The good outweighs the bad on here! Thats a good thing. You should check this place out for yourselves. Its clean and the seating is great! I love it! Keep your employees up to par and we should not have any problems! You cant please everyone! I love that its clean and I was not itching in the seats!!! I experienced that one day last week at another AMC! I wont say which one. I live in Greenbelt. I will travel to Oxon Hill to see a movie in comfort!
The theater is nice and the staff is helpful. However the crowd can be kind of loud. Taking little kids to R rated movies and the kid is crying and noisy but thats not the theaters fault. Also someone was sitting in our seats and they know its reserved seating!!! I just dont understand that. They got up and laughed about it but its annoying that I have to say those are our seats. Overall if you go early it could be a great experience.
